Welcome to the KSHSAA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Kansas staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

Washburn Rural jumped out to an early lead and held on to defeat Lawrence Free State 4-3 in a hard-fought contest in the 6A State Championship Game at Eck Stadium. Aidan Newbery paced the winning offense by going 3-for-4 with a key two-run double, while starting pitcher Preston Bahr earned the victory on the mound. In the loss, Lawrence Free State's Ferris Dinkel put on a strong day at the plate, leading his lineup by going 3-for-3.

#6 Shawnee Heights 0
#4 St. Thomas Aquinas 4
Recap

St. Thomas Aquinas relied on a dominant two-pitcher combination to blank Shawnee Heights 4-0 in the 5A State Championship at Eck Stadium on Saturday. Starter Lincoln Boyle struck out seven over four innings of one-hit ball, while reliever James Forgy finished the job with three scoreless frames to seal the shutout. Tommy Costello anchored the bottom of the winning lineup, driving in two runs to provide the game's decisive offense.
