In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

The Chippewa Falls Cardinals leaned on a massive middle-inning rally and stellar pitching to secure a dominant 7-1 victory over the Onalaska Hilltoppers on Monday. Onalaska struck first in the top of the opening frame when Carson Campbell hit a sacrifice fly to push a run across the plate. Chippewa Falls answered immediately in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game at 1-1 after Jacob Bleskacek drew a walk to help push a run across. After a scoreless second, the Cardinals seized command for good and broke the game completely open with a decisive five-run explosion in the third inning. The game-changing rally was fueled by a crucial two-run double off the bat of Connor Kolinski, a run-scoring double by Sam Bresina, an RBI single from Chase Fredrick, and punctuated by a sacrifice fly from Dane Krista. Chippewa Falls added a final insurance run in the fifth to comfortably seal the win. Eli Burmeister earned the win with a solid start on the mound, surrendering just one run on four hits while racking up three strikeouts and navigating three walks over 4.0 innings of work. Matthew Scholtz provided lockdown relief, tossing 3.0 scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and striking out two to collect the save and slam the door. The Chippewa Falls offense piled up 10 hits on the day, driven largely by the bottom of the lineup. Sam Bresina was a massive force at the plate from the eight-hole, spearheading the attack with a 3-for-4 performance that included a double, two runs scored, and an RBI. Chase Fredrick and Brady Smith kept the pressure on by collecting multi-hit games, with Fredrick going a perfect 2-for-2 with an RBI. Connor Kolinski provided the heavy lifting in the clutch by driving in a team-high 2 RBI with his crucial double. The Cardinals also displayed elite patience all day, accumulating seven walks as a team, led by two from Landon Atkisson. For the Hilltoppers, Bradyn DeLong, Carson Zinnecker, Hunter Morse, Carter DeLong, and Tracey accounted for the team's five-hit attack, and Zinnecker, Carter DeLong, and Tracey each wreaked havoc on the basepaths by swiping a stolen base.

After the Cougars reclaimed a 4-3 advantage in the second on an RBI double from Gavin Pusick and extended their lead to 5-3 in the third with an RBI single by Alex Meyer, the Storm flipped the script completely in the bottom of the fifth. Seizing command for good, Kewaunee erupted for a massive four-run explosion highlighted by a clutch two-run single down the right-field line by Waylon Delain and a two-run single down the left-field line from Harrell to seal the win. Waylon Delain earned the win with a gritty start on the mound, surrendering five runs on 11 hits while racking up three strikeouts and navigating zero walks over 6.0 innings of work. Brett Paulsen provided lockdown relief, tossing a flawless, hitless seventh inning with one strikeout to collect the save and slam the door. Paulsen and Delain were massive forces at the plate, spearheading the seven-hit attack with two hits apiece. Dane Harrell provided the heavy lifting in the middle of the lineup, driving in a team-high 3 RBI on a 1-for-2 day, while Delain chipped in with 2 RBI. Kewaunee also applied pressure on the basepaths, with Diesel Bosdeck and Delain each swiping a stolen base, and flashed the leather perfectly by committing zero errors in the field. Trailing by two in the top of the seventh, the Redbirds mounted a crucial rally to tie the game at 4-4, aided by a clutch sacrifice bunt from Geiser that helped push the tying runs across. The grueling battle pushed into extra innings, where De Pere seized command for good in the top of the eighth. The decisive two-run surge was fueled by a clutch RBI single from Max Zimmerman and a bases-loaded walk drawn by Isaac Herlache to seal the thrilling win. Jake Mleziva earned the win with a masterful performance in relief, tossing three and one-third scoreless innings while surrendering just two hits, navigating one walk, and racking up a strikeout to slam the door. This followed a gritty start from Ryland Nowak, who yielded four runs (two earned) on nine hits over four and two-thirds innings. Max Zimmerman was a massive force at the plate, spearheading the six-hit attack with a 2-for-4 performance, an RBI, and a stolen base. Rory Obma and Geiser provided the heavy lifting in the lineup by driving in two runs apiece, with Obma providing the early spark with his home run. After adding a run in the fifth, Brookfield East effectively put the game out of reach with a decisive two-run surge in the bottom of the sixth to seal the win. Collin VanderVilet earned the win with a gritty start on the mound, surrendering three runs on four hits while racking up five strikeouts and navigating six walks over three and one-third innings of work. Zack Steichen provided lockdown relief, stepping up to collect the save and slam the door. The Brookfield East offense utilized a perfectly balanced attack, gathering four total hits evenly distributed with one apiece from Carter Mantei, Jackson Suttle, Evan Ruesch, and Andy Krapf. The lineup's production was equally spread, as Carter Mantei, Jackson Suttle, Ben Swanson, Evan Ruesch, and Andy Krapf provided the heavy lifting by driving in one run each. The Spartans displayed elite patience all day, accumulating six walks as a team, led by two from Cooper Haas. They also absolutely wreaked havoc on the basepaths, driven entirely by the legs of Cooper Haas, who swiped a staggering four stolen bases. Brookfield East flashed the leather perfectly as well, committing zero errors in the field. For the Lancers, Chris Kenesie paced the lineup with a perfect 2-for-2 performance and two walks, while Zach Rizzo drove the offense entirely with his three-run homer and a game-high 4 RBI. Not content with just a masterful pitching gem, Zdanczewicz single-handedly broke the game wide open for the Eagles' bats by going 4-for-4 at the plate with a home run and a game-high six RBI. Fennimore's offense hammered out 10 hits in total, with Grant Biba chipping in a hit and a pair of RBI, while Jude Kinney finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Deerfield was never able to find its footing against Zdanczewicz, failing to record a single hit or run, with starting pitcher Bryce Casteel absorbing the loss after giving up three earned runs over five frames of work.

The Whitewater Whippets leaned on a massive middle-inning offensive surge and early dominance to secure a high-scoring 13-10 victory over Hustisford on Monday. Whitewater established an early lead in the bottom of the first inning when Matt Carollo laced a run-scoring single. They extended their advantage to 2-0 in the second on an RBI single by Liam Springer, and pushed the lead to 4-0 in the third behind an RBI groundout from Connor Brummeyer and a Hustisford error. After Hustisford scratched across a run in the top of the fourth, the Whippets effectively blew the game open in the bottom half of the frame. Seizing command, Whitewater erupted for a massive seven-run explosion highlighted by run-scoring singles from Brady Friend, Matt Carollo, and Connor Brummeyer, alongside a bases-loaded walk drawn by Cristian Aranda. Hustisford mounted a furious late-game comeback attempt, plating a run in the fifth and erupting for a seven-run surge of their own in the top of the sixth, fueled by a two-run double from Kohn and a sacrifice fly by K Wolter. However, Whitewater answered with two crucial insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth behind another two-run single from Liam Springer to weather the storm and seal the win. Hayden Armstrong earned the win with a strong start on the mound, holding Hustisford hitless over five and one-third innings while surrendering just two runs, racking up three strikeouts, and navigating four walks. Brady Friend and Jacek Egnoski provided relief out of the bullpen to navigate the late-game jam and close out the high-scoring affair. The Whitewater offense was an absolute juggernaut, piling up 14 hits on the day. Liam Springer was a massive force at the plate, spearheading the attack with a 3-for-5 performance and a game-high 4 RBI. Matt Carollo kept the pressure on, matching the team-high with three hits while scoring twice, stealing two bases, and driving in a run. Connor Brummeyer, Emmett Spear, and Cristian Aranda provided heavy lifting in the lineup by collecting two hits apiece, with Connor Brummeyer adding 2 RBI and Emmett Spear lacing a double. The Whippets completely wreaked havoc on the basepaths, tallying a staggering 12 stolen bases as a team, led by two apiece from Matt Carollo, Hayden Armstrong, Jacek Egnoski, Connor Brummeyer, and Cristian Aranda. For Hustisford, patience was the defining factor as they drew 10 walks as a team. Kohn paced the offense with a double, two walks, and 2 RBI, while Birrenkott wreaked havoc with a hit, two walks, three runs scored, and three stolen bases.
