2026 Prep Baseball Kansas POWER 25 - WEEK 6

It was a loaded week of action across the state, with the River City Festival and the De Soto/Gardner Spring Classic creating a turbulent atmosphere that saw nearly every top team suffer at least one setback. The schedule isn't getting any easier, as many programs face a daunting slate in the coming days.

Olathe East remains atop the rankings for now, but they stare down their toughest stretch yet with matchups against Olathe West, Gardner-Edgerton, and Mill Valley on deck. Blue Valley slides up to claim the No. 2 spot after an impressive 4-0 week, highlighted by a marquee victory over Missouri’s No. 1 Blue Springs South. Wichita-area powerhouses Mulvane and Maize have broken into the top five, while Mill Valley slides down three spots to No. 7. Meanwhile, No. 9 Salina Central and No. 10 Thomas More Prep-Marian have been welcomed into the top ten as they continue to stack wins.

The middle of the rankings saw some shuffling as Piper, Washburn Rural, and Manhattan all took slight slides following tough weeks against ranked opponents. McPherson makes its season debut this week at No. 16 after adding a convincing 10-0 win over No. 17 Rock Creek to a resume that already includes handing Mulvane its only loss of the season.

The bottom portion of the Power 25 features three teams that have overcome slow starts and are finally putting things together. Blue Valley Southwest re-enters the rankings after a dominant 4-0 week that included three wins at the De Soto/Gardner Spring Classic. Behind them, the two tournament hosts, De Soto and Gardner-Edgerton, enter at No. 24 and No. 25, respectively. The Trailblazers have won eight of their last ten, including victories over Spring Hill, Shawnee Heights, Piper, and Shawnee Mission South. Similarly, the Wildcats have won eight of their last ten, highlighted by a series sweep of Seaman and wins over Gardner-Edgerton, Piper, and Joplin (MO).
