Every week, coaches around the state submit their nominations for the Prep Baseball California Player of the Week for NorCal and SoCal. Week 7 Players of the Week honors went to Parker Leoff (Huntington Beach, 2027) and Mason Hackler (Turlock, 2027). Leoff made an immediate impact in his return, going 6-for-10 with three doubles, three RBIs, and eight runs scored. On the week, he held a .663 OBP and a 1.592 OPS. Hackler was dominant on the mound, tossing a complete-game one-hit shutout over seven innings while striking out 10 and issuing no walks. On the season, Hackler owns a 2.05 ERA with 42 strikeouts and just eight walks.
With several other impressive performances across the past week that were in the mix for both awards and deserve recognition, here is a rundown of some of the other standouts of the week. WEEK 7 DIAMOND NOTES
+ Anthony Bascherini, RHP (Elk Grove, 2026)
Bascherini delivered a strong complete-game win in the SD Lions Tournament, throwing seven innings while allowing three hits and one earned run against Sage Creek. He continues to prove himself against top competition. On the season, Bascherini is 4-0 with an ERA just above 1.00, establishing himself as one of the top arms in Northern California.
+ Declan Fitzgerald, RHP (Fullerton Union, 2026) — ASU commit
Declan turned in a strong outing against Villa Park, throwing five innings while allowing just two hits and one run (both bunts) while striking out 10. He showed strong command and swing-and-miss ability. On the season, Fitzgerald is 3-0 over 22 innings with 37 strikeouts, allowing just 12 hits and five earned runs.
+ Jensen Hirschkorn, P/1B (Kingsburg, 2026) — LSU commit
Hirschkorn had an unbelievable week as a two-way force, going 7-for-10 with three home runs, including a grand slam, and eight RBIs, while also throwing a no-hitter on the mound. He dominated on both sides of the ball. On the season, Hirschkorn is hitting .596 with 23 RBIs, a 1.064 slugging percentage, and a 1.789 OPS.
+ Isaak Medina, P/1B (Santa Paula, 2028)
Medina delivered a strong two-way performance, throwing seven innings with no runs, 11 strikeouts, and two walks, while also going 5-for-7 with two runs at the plate. On the season, Medina is 4-2 with a 1.89 ERA over 44.1 innings with 56 strikeouts, while hitting .300.
+ Matt Manzo, 3B (Arcadia, 2026) — Colorado State Pueblo commit
Manzo had a productive week during the National Classic, going 5-for-14 (.357) with a home run, four RBIs, four runs, and two stolen bases. He delivered key hits, including a game-tying two-RBI knock. On the season, Manzo is hitting .407 (22-for-54) with five doubles, a triple, two home runs, 16 runs, and 15 RBIs.
+ Andrew Cooper, LHP (Arcadia, 2028)
Cooper turned in a key relief outing, throwing 6.2 innings while allowing two runs and striking out five in a comeback win. He provided stability out of the bullpen. On the season, Cooper has thrown 11.1 innings with a 1.85 ERA and nine strikeouts.
+ Hugo Marks, RHP/DH (Washington-Fremont, 2026)
Marks delivered his sixth straight complete game, scattering six hits while striking out seven and issuing no walks. At the plate, he also went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. On the season, Marks is 5-1 with a 1.00 ERA over 42 innings with 58 strikeouts and just four walks, while hitting .366 with 14 RBIs.
+ Peyton Romero, 3B/2B/OF (Washington-Fremont, 2027)
Romero had a strong week offensively, highlighted by a two-home run game, while going 2-for-4 and 3-for-3 across multiple games with two runs and two RBIs. He consistently impacted the game at the plate. On the season, Romero is hitting .419 with 12 runs and seven RBIs.
+ Jacob Caldera, RHP (Citrus Valley, 2026) — Allan Hancock commit
Caldera turned in a dominant outing, throwing seven innings while allowing three hits and one run (zero earned) with 15 strikeouts and just one walk. He showed elite swing-and-miss ability. On the season, Caldera owns a 3.11 ERA with 31 strikeouts and five walks.
+ Cameron Morrissey, RHP (San Juan Hills, 2027)
Morrissey delivered a complete-game performance, throwing seven innings while allowing four hits, one run, and striking out eight. He showed strong command throughout the outing. On the season, Morrissey is 5-0 with a 1.07 ERA.
+ Jackson Phillips, P/1B (Foothill, 2028)
Phillips tossed a complete-game shutout against Irvine, throwing seven innings while allowing just two hits, three walks, and striking out nine. He controlled the game throughout. On the season, Phillips is 3-0 over 16.2 innings with 18 strikeouts, one run allowed, a 0.42 ERA, and a 0.96 WHIP.
+ Caden Lauridsen, P (Foothill, 2027)
Lauridsen took a no-hitter into the seventh inning in a road win over La Habra, finishing with a complete-game performance of seven innings, allowing two hits, one run, no walks, and striking out four. On the season, Lauridsen is 3-3 over 36.1 innings with a 2.12 ERA, 24 strikeouts, and just two walks, posting a 0.991 WHIP.
+ Brayden Bianchi, OF/P (Foothill, 2026)
Bianchi had a strong week at the plate, going 7-for-13 with a double, a triple, and five RBIs. He consistently produced in run-scoring situations. On the season, Bianchi is hitting .419/.468/.535 with 16 RBIs, four stolen bases, and hitting .500 with runners in scoring position.
+ Evrett Rycroft, 3B/P (Foothill, 2027)
Rycroft delivered a solid outing on the mound, throwing six innings while allowing four hits, two runs, two walks, and striking out seven against Tustin. On the season, Rycroft is 4-1 over 26 innings with 21 strikeouts, eight walks, a 2.88 ERA, and a 1.087 WHIP.
+ Aidan Gogley, C/1B (Foothill, 2027)
Gogley had a productive week, going 4-for-8 with a double, a triple, three RBIs, four runs, and two stolen bases. He showed the ability to impact the game in multiple ways. On the season, Gogley is hitting .283/.346/.478 with multiple extra-base hits, 14 RBIs, 10 runs, and three stolen bases.
