The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement is building throughout Iowa. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Iowa.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Carroll or Cedar Rapids at the IHSAA 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A State Tournaments, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to shine a spotlight on all teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Iowa.

TEAM OUTLOOK

“We have a younger group of players with a lot of versatility. We have not had the ability to play as many players in as many positions in a couple of years. We are a little unproven, but this group has shown itself to be tough, gritty, and loves baseball. As long as we can throw strikes, we will be in a really good position to compete at a high level this season. We open with a very tough schedule over the first two weeks, so I am excited to see how we handle the level of competition we will be up against. ” – Bryan McCray , head coach
