2026 RHP Jeremiah Jennings, Madison - UCSB Signee

Jennings was dominant from start to finish, turning in a complete-game shutout with 17 strikeouts, allowing just 2 hits and 1 walk over 102 pitches. The right-hander came out attacking with a heavy dose of fastballs, working 88-91 mph and touching 92, and consistently overwhelming hitters in the zone. He struck out the first six batters of the game and the final five, setting the tone early and finishing with authority. To put it in perspective, 17 of the 21 outs he recorded came via strikeout — an eye-popping number that would be rare even in a full nine-inning game (27 outs), let alone accomplished in just seven innings. The fastball was the primary weapon, accounting for 13 of his 17 strikeouts, playing up with life and command — especially to the glove side as the outing progressed. He mixed in a 75-77 mph slider and 83-85 mph changeup, both of which kept hitters honest, but the ability to lean on the heater and still miss bats stood out. Jennings operates from a stretch-only delivery with a short, fluid arm action, and his 6-foot-4, 220-pound frame suggests there’s still more to unlock. Even late in the outing, after dipping slightly into the 86-88 range early in the seventh, he reached back and finished strong, running three straight fastballs at 91 mph to secure the 17th strikeout. The performance showcased clear starter traits, with the ability to maintain stuff, command the zone, and elevate when needed to finish hitters.
