Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. No. 1 St. Laurence routed Simeon by the score of 11-0. Orlando Vazquez (2026) led the Vikings' offense by going 2-for-3 with a double, single, a run scored, and two RBIs. Cory Les (2026; Louisville Commit) and Tristian Steger (2027; Kentucky Commit) both played the long ball with a solo home run. Four pitchers combined to throw a one hitter to shut out the Simeon offense. Carter Mosher (2026; Joliet JC Commit) threw the first two scoreless innings and struck out two. Cory Les finished it by striking out three of the four batters he faced.

No. 2 Normal Community took down Bradley-Bourbonnais to a 19-9 victory. Gavin Michaels (2026; Cincinnati Commit) and Andrew Naour (2026) both led the Ironmen with four RBIs. Michaels went 2-for-4 with a triple, single, walk, three stolen bases, and three runs scored. Naour went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a solo home run, a walk, and two runs scored. Max Heineman (2026; UIC Commit) played in on the long ball as well with a two-run home run, along with a triple and RBI single. Kyle Glass (2027) got the win in relief by throwing 2.2 scoreless frames and striking out a batter.

No. 4 Huntley walked-off Bartlett 7-6. Tommy Gasner (2028) stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the seventh with runners on second and third with no outs - lining one to center to drive in both the tying and winning run. Gasner finished with two hits, a double, and three RBIs, Drew Borkowski (2026; Heartland) had two doubles and scored twice. Liam Nash (2027; Houston) allowed three hits, one run, and struck out seven in four innings of work. The Red Raiders advance to 13-1 after the walk-off win.

St. Charles North 9

St. Charles North knocked out No. 5 Libertyville by the score of 9-8 with a come-from-behind victory. They put up a five spot in the seventh to stun Libertyville in this contest. Nolan Macholz (2026; Elgin CC Commit) hit a key two-RBI single to bring the deficit to two. Brody Phelps (2027) brought the deficit even closer with an RBI single of his own. Then, after Phelps scored the tying run on a wild pitch, Charlie Peppeard (2027) came in the clutch and provided the go-ahead RBI single that proved to be the game winner. Landon Paul (2027) was on the mound and got the win after throwing 1.2 innings while striking out two and not giving up a run. For Libertyville, their offense was led by Carson Holmes (2026), who went 2-for-4 with a double, single, a walk, and three RBIs.

Christian Brothers (MO) 8

Christian Brothers (MO) took down No. 6 O'Fallon by the score of 8-2. The best offense from the Panthers came from Anthony Perez (2026; Central Alabama CC Commit) when he hit a sacrifice fly. Sam McCollum (2026; Drury Commit) had a nice relief outing by going three innings, striking out two, and giving up only one hit.

Fremd defeated No. 9 New Trier by the score of 9-6. Chase Nelson (2026; Harper JC) went 4-for-4 at the plate with a home run, double, four RBI, three runs scored and a walk. Will Graba (2026; Harper JC) also went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored. On the mound, Jacob Sanchez (2027) tossed two innings in relief, struck out two, walked one, allowed no earned runs and one hit.

Maine South 19
#10 Mount Carmel 17

Maine South took down No. 10 Mount Carmel by the score of 19-17. Evan Adamczewski (2027; Northern Illinois) powered the offense at the top of the lineup, going 3-for-3 with two home runs, a double, six RBI and four runs scored. Sean Sladky (2027) went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI, and three runs scored, Gavin Krischke (2027) went 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored, and Jack Croon (2026; Concordia-Chicago) added three hits with a double, three RBI and two runs scored.

No.11 Brother Rice defeated No. 18 Homewood-Flossmoor in a shootout, 22-11. Brother Rice tallied 10 XBH by 10 different players in the contest, highlighted by home runs from Joey Escobarete (2027), Luca Agne (2027), and Nolan Ramoley (2026; Northwestern commit). The Brother Rice offense tallied 14 hits by 13 different players, and reached on free passes nine times in the game. Homewood-Flossmoor got solid days offensively from Calvin Stuckey Jr. (2026; 3-for-3, 3B, RBI, 2 R, SB) and Mikey Watson (2027; Illinois-Chicago commit; 2-for-5, 2B, 4 RBI, 2 R).

Paris Head (2029) tripled and scored out of the leadoff spot, Eric Acevedo (2027) finished 2-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI, run, and a walk. Conor Sullivan (2026) led the offense finishing 3-for-3 with a double, two runs, two RBI, and a walk. Charles Lust (2027) threw it well out of relief, tossing two innings, allowing just one hit, no runs, no walks, and struck out three.

Carmel defeated No. 13 Nazareth Academy by the score of 6-5. Michael Haran (2027) went a perfect 3-for-3 in the game with a double, one RBI and one run scored. Jacob Pankau (2026) went 3-for-4 with three RBI, and Emerson Larson (2026; Quincy) added two hits and one RBI. On the mound, Brody Connelly (2028) earned the win, tossing 2.2 innings in relief with two strikeouts, no walks, no earned runs and two hits allowed. For Nazareth, Kamrin Alihan (2026; John A Logan) added a double and one RBI.

No. 13 Nazareth improved to 12-4 with a 10-2 win over Carmel. Freshman Hector Valdez was the winning pitcher with four innings, four hits allowed, four strikeouts and no runs. Kam Alikhan (2026; John A. Logan) paced the offense going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Bobby Labuda (2026) (2-for-4, 3B) and Sean Stolfi (2026) (1-for-3, 2 R) each chipped in offensively as well.

No. 14 Marquette defeated Illinois Valley Central by the score of 11-2. Grant Dose (2026; Morton JC Commit) led the Crusaders with three RBIs, including a two-run double. Easton Debernardi (2027) hit a solo home run in this contest. Anthony Couch (2026; Spoon River JC Commit), Connor Baker, and Jaxsen Higgins (2026) all hit RBI singles in this contest. Debernardi also got it done on the mound when he delivered five strong shutout innings and struck out nine batters, which earned him the win.

Breese Central defeated No. 16 Mascoutah by the score of 2-1 to improve to 14-3 on the year. Miles Browne (2026) tossed 4.1 innings on the mound, struck out six, allowed no walks, one run, and three hits. Lincoln Radake (2028) threw 2.1 innings in relief and earned the win, striking out two and allowing one walk. Alex Athmer (2027) and Craige Schroeder (2026) each went 1-for-3 in the game with one RBI,

No. 17 Lyons dominates Proviso East in a 18-0 win. 11 players on the Lyons roster recorded a hit in this game, six players recorded a double. Some highlights are Evan McCargo (2027) drove in two runs, Tommy Georgelos (2026; Eastern Illinois) drove in four runs, including a bases clearing double in the third. The pitching staff tossed a combined no-hitter, RHP Brendan McCabe (2027) tossed two innings, allowed no base runners, and struck out three. Lyons improves to 11-2 on the year.

No. 22 Lincoln-Way West defeated Oswego by the score of 11-4. Carson Paulas (2026) went 2-for-4 in the game with a double, two RBI, one run scored and a walk. Max Silic (2027) added three hits in the game with two RBI and two runs scored, and Michael Pettit (2026; Notre Dame) added a double and one run scored. Luke Stoner (2028) added two hits and two runs scored, and Owen Chudzinski (2027) added a hit with two RBI. Stoner also started on the mound and tallied four strikeouts across four innings of work.

No. 23 McHenry rolled past Grant Community 17-5 thanks to a big day at the plate from Kaden Wasniewski (2027; Louisiana State commit). Wasniewski collected eight total bases, including a HR and two 2B, driving in four runs in the process. Carven Cohn (2028) and Garet Lobbins (2027) both added a HR as well. Lobbins also added a 2B, and three RBI. Deegan Widhalm (2026) got the win in relief for the Warriors, going two scoreless innings.

No. 24 Sandburg took down Joliet West 9-3 on Saturday. Lucas Rosas (2026; Benedictine) had two hits including a double, and drove in four out of the leadoff spot. Quinn Durkin (2027) had himself a day at the plate, finishing 3-for-3 with a homerun and three runs scored. Lucas Matykiewicz (2027) had two knocks, including a double and an RBI, Aidan Barrera (2026; South Suburban) had three hits, drove in one, and scored. Dainel Spinella (2026) doubled and had two hits. Sandburg collects their 11th win of the season.

No. 25 Sacred Heart-Griffin used a six-run third inning to power past Teutopolis, 8–3. Mikey Groesch (2027) hit a grand slam to cap off the scoring in the third, and Seth Monk (2026) added a two run blast in the sixth to put the game out of reach. Drew Ward (2026; Illinois-Wesleyan commit) had a solid day on the mound going 6.2 innings, allowing three runs, and striking out 10. Davin Worman (2026; Kaskaskia JC commit) threw all seven innings for Teutopolis, giving up eight runs, and striking out seven. Worman also added a double at the plate.

Luis DeAvila (2026; 1-for-2 3 R, 3 BB), Carson Maranda (2026; 3 BB, 3 R), Baha Hammad (2026; 2-for-3, 3B, 2 R), Jake Kirk (2026; 1-for-2, 2B, 2 BB, 2 R), and Angel Ramirez (2027; 2-for-4, 2 R) led the way offensively in the win.

Tanner Beyna (2027) earned the win in relief tossing two and two-thirds with five strikeouts and one walk. Alec Harer (2027; 3-for-6, 3 RBI) and Brandon Thomsen (2026, Purdue; 3-for-5, 4 RBI) led the way for the Lions' offense with Thomsen hitting his 3rd HR of the season in the 10th. Saint Viator improves to 11-4 overall and 3-1 in the ESCC.

Staunton took down Beardstown 13-3. Cale Dugger (2028) tossed five innings allowing three runs (one earned) scattering four hits with seven strikeouts. Carter Legendre (2026; 2-for-3, 2B, 3 RBI), Logan Tuetken (2026; 2-for-4, 3 RBI), and Sam Frank (2028) notched his first career varsity hit and RBI.

For Glenbrook South, Clancy Rogers (2026, Loras; 2-for-3, 2B, R), Jack Stefani (2026; 2-for-3, 2 RBI, R), and Sam Christos (2027; RBI) all had solid offensive showings. Johnny Turnbow III (2027) punched out three in a scoreless inning for the Titans in the loss as well.
