The 2026 VA/DC high school season fully and officially kicked off on March 16th. We begin our weekly awards for a couple different areas, including today's featured Team of the Week. Team of the Week will run each and every Wednesday. This story will highlight a team that had a strong week, which usually includes at least one win over a Power 25/quality opponent.

After a 2-1 start to the season, with two convincing wins over quality opponents and a close loss to Patriot, the Tigers dominated their spring break week with five wins. During the course of the week, Indy had four run rule wins, scored 62 totals runs, and ended the week with a one run victory over Poly Prep (NY). While the pitching staff definitely held their own all week, the offense was on full go. Contributions from up and down the lineup in almost every single game was the biggest standout feature for the Tigers. Their first victory was highlighted by a 2-2 day from Matthew Son. Son scored three runs and drove in two on the day. In game two, Logan Havekost and Joe Joe McDonald were the two big contributors. Havekost was 4-4, scored four runs, and had three RBI, while McDonald drove in four with a homerun and triple. In their victory over Floyd Central, the Tigers used multi-hit days from Quinn Pak (Eastern Conn. State), Son, Reid Hydock, and Cole Obstgarten to propel them to a 16-6 win. In their second game of the day on Wednesday, Indy rolled John Jay (NY) by a score of 11-0. The offense was fueled by Havekost and Hydock, who both had multi-hit days. The final game vs Poly Prep (NY) was their closest one, winning 4-3. In the bottom of the 8th, Michael Bowden (CNU) scored Hydock to give Indy the walk-off victory. In that game it was another strong showing for Quinn Pak. Pak showed to be the tonesetter at the top of the lineup for this Indy team.
