NOTABLE TEAMS IN WEEK 5 MOVING UP 📈

Spanish Fork

The Spanish Fork Dons (13-0) continue their absolute stranglehold on the #1 spot, maintaining a perfect record through the first month of the season. Their recent 9-0 victory over Springville was a masterclass in modern baseball; Matai Johnson was untouchable on the mound, surrendering just a single hit while striking out seven in five innings. Offensively, Trigg Cloward turned in a signature performance, going 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI. The Dons are hitting a collective .406 as a team, and with a rotation that refuses to blink, they look increasingly like a generational 5A powerhouse. This week also marks the first time they have been mentioned in the National Top 50 team rankings, landing at the #38 spot.

Lone Peak

The Lone Peak Knights (13-0) matched the Dons step-for-step this week, solidifying their #2 ranking with a statement 12-2 shellacking of Corner Canyon in Game 3, and completing the sweep. The Knights are currently riding a 14-game winning streak dating back to last year, punctuated by an offense that has posted an OBP of .618 in their most recent outing. Landon Fry has been the definition of a "dual-threat," earning the win on the mound while going 4-for-4 at the plate with a home run and four RBIs. Lone Peak has now won nine games this season by six or more runs, proving they are the clear "team to beat" in 6A.

Timpanogos

The Timpanogos Timberwolves (15-1) remain locked into the top five after extending their win total to a state-leading 15 games. Their recent run of dominance has been defined by a balanced attack and precision on the mound. Under the veteran leadership of Coach Kim Nelson, the Timberwolves have shown a knack for pulling away in middle innings, using their deep lineup to exhaust opposing rotations. As they move deeper into 4A competition, their 15-1 record serves as a stark warning to any team standing between them and a deep playoff run.

Riverton & Olympus

Both the Silverwolves and the Titans made major moves this week, each jumping four spots into the Top 10. Riverton has found its rhythm, winning six of their last eight games including a gritty 7-6 extra-inning thriller against Herriman and completing the region series sweep. McKade Ortiz launched his first home run of the season to provide the spark, while Bryce Mounteer continues to produce in clutch situations. Meanwhile, Olympus (9-1) is proving that their early-season success was no fluke, relying on clinical pitching and timely hitting to climb into the elite tier of the rankings.

Mountain Crest

Entering the Top 25 for the first time this season, the Mountain Crest Mustangs (13-2) land at #24. The Mustangs have been on a mission, recently returning from a successful trip to the National Classic where they tallied wins over high-caliber programs like Canyon Crest Academy and Colfax. With a win over 4A rival Bear River already on their resume, Mountain Crest has shown they possess the depth and defensive discipline to challenge the established order in Region 11.
