2026 Prep Baseball Kansas POWER 25 - WEEK 2
The first full week of Kansas high school baseball is in the books, and our staff has updated the Power 25 heading into week two.
The top five remain largely unchanged as teams handled business over the past ten days. The only shift at the top features Olathe East bumping up one spot to No. 3 following a statement victory over Blue Springs South, the defending Missouri Class 6 state champions.
Blue Valley makes a notable move, sliding up three spots to No. 6 after a dominant start to the season. Their early resume is already one of the most impressive in the region, featuring victories over Missouri No. 2 Liberty North, Oklahoma No. 7 Edmond Santa Fe, and Nebraska No. 9 Millard West. Meanwhile, both Olathe South and Blue Valley West have gained significant ground, with each program climbing four spots in this update.
Olathe West and Maize both take small slides in the rankings this week following losses to tough out-of-state opponents.
A pair of UKC rivals have also made substantial jumps after identical 4-1 starts to the season. Piper moves up six spots to No. 15, while Shawnee Heights leaps eight spots to No. 16.
This week’s update also introduces four new teams to the rankings, led by Washburn Rural. The Junior Blues enter the mix following an impressive 3-0 start that includes a victory over No. 11 Olathe South and a resounding win over Gardner-Edgerton. Just behind them at No. 22 is Olathe Northwest, which has also opened the year with a perfect 3-0 record.
Rounding out the newcomers are two 4-0 squads from the Wichita area: Andover enters at No. 23, followed by Derby at No. 25. Fans won't have to wait long for a marquee matchup, as these two newly ranked programs are scheduled to face off in a doubleheader on March 31.
