Over the next few weeks, leading up to the beginning of the 2026 MD High School season, our staff will be releasing our Preseason Power 25. This list will be comprised of public and private schools across the state that we feel have a strong chance of being successful in 2026.

#4 Urbana Hawks 

The top-ranked preseason public school lands at number four, as the Urbana Hawks enter the 2026 spring with one goal in mind: a 4A state title. The Hawks return basically their entire roster from last year's state championship game loss, including eight of nine starters in the lineup. On the bump, Coach Frownfelter returns a plethora of arms with top-of-the-rotation talent with reliable depth behind them. This roster makeup alone is a ton of fun to dive into, and we believe a hungry Hawks team is on the brink of a deep run once again in 2026.  

Key Players to Watch
