2026 KSHSAA Team Preview: Wamego Red Raiders

Prep Baseball Kansas Staff

The Kansas high school baseball season kicks off on Mar. 19, opening day for regular season action under KSHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2026 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Kansas Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Our 2026 preseason coverage continues today.

Coach’s Insight: “We're going to pitch well. Two guys who can touch 90 with real stuff, and Gallagher's solid at short and at the dish. If we pitch & defend like we should, we'll be in every game. The offense didn't put up enough runs last year and we have big shoes to fill in a couple spots. We're young, and we've got a few guys who haven't played much at this level. We will need some young guys to step up and produce.” – Matt Moody, head coach
