Anne Arundel County
Arundel Wildcats
2025 Record: 13-11
Key Departures: Rowland Thursby, Dom Erculiani, Tahner McGriff
The Wildcats made a deep run in 2025, eventually falling in the State Quarterfinals to eventual 3A State champion Sherwood. Turn the page to 2026, and this roster returns a slew of impact bats from a year ago that look to take an even larger step this spring. The big question mark will be on the bump, following the departures of a handful of arms that ate a ton of innings a year ago.
Offensively, this lineup returns a nice balance of speed, power and on-base threats littered throughout, led by junior leadoff hitter Luke Gamble. Senior Jack Bailey is back and was a really nice one-two punch for the Wildcats right behind Gamble in the two-hole, and there’s some thought that he may slide into the 3 or 4 hole to be more of a run producer this spring with the loss of Rowland Thursby to graduation. Fellow seniors Grayson O’Donnell, Josh Verdier, and Jack Fuller look to add some thump in the middle of the order, as sophomore standout Landyn Atherton should vie for key at-bats as well.
On the pitching side, trying to fill the void of Thursby, Tahner McGriff, and Dom Erculiani will be a tall task, as all three were vital for the Wildcats success a year ago on the bump. Look for senior Jackson Haslup to make that jump and lead this staff, as Atherton will look to build off of some varsity experience last year and eat some innings on the front-end as well.

Broadneck Bruins
2025 Record: 23-2
Key Departures: Mike Swick, Nick Cicale, Noah Forman, Kobe Owen, Chase Hannon
In what was one of the biggest storylines of the 2025 spring, Broadneck came out of the gates hot, winning their first 8 games of the season before a close 2-1 loss to Severna Park. The Bruins then ran off 15 consecutive wins before a 13 inning showdown with Urbana in the state semi-finals; a game that was ultimately won by the Hawks 9-7. Turn the page to 2026, and this Broadneck squad has all the makings for another deep run.
It would be difficult for this offense to replicate the success it had a year ago, as this offense was littered with senior talent, however, the return of a slew of impact bats from a year ago should round out this lineup nicely. A really nice mix of speed and power throughout this lineup should put up runs in a hurry, led by senior Tripp Zwirlien at the top and followed by junior standout Avik Cherry (Georgetown). Sophomore Maxwell White and junior Bryce Watt will form a nice power duo in the middle, with junior Copper Mengel, and seniors Aiden Casey and Bodhi Samson providing depth.
Look for the Miteff brothers in senior Jack and junior Greg to lead the pitching staff, as senior Jonah Lucas and sophomore Maxwell White provide depth on the backend. It will be interesting to see how junior Avik Cherry is utilized, as the athletic two-way has plenty of versatility and should be a lock down arm out of the ‘pen to close out tight games. If this staff can keep games close, the offense should be able to pour in runs at a steady pace. The depth is there, and this Bruins team should be firing on all cylinders from the start.

Chesapeake Cougars
2025 Record: 18-7
Key Departures: Lucas Slayton, Sean Carroll, Jimmy Dreyer, Christian Spoone
Arms galore for the Cougars as they enter this 2026 spring, and there’s no doubt that Coach Young is hungry to get back to a state title game. A close loss to eventual 3A state champion Sherwood a year ago, Chesapeake has the depth and talent littered through this lineup to make another deep run this spring.
The Cougars lose their top three in the lineup to graduation, however, return a nice mix of senior and junior talent that should make jumps after some experience gained on varsity a year ago. Seniors CJ August, Dylan Adams, Brayden Corcoran, Landen Hoyer, and Owen Lucas should be mainstays in the lineup, while junior two-ways Dakari Bailey, Dennis Bailey, and Matthew Sowers should add some depth in the middle. This lineup has the potential to put up some runs on their own, and the expertise of Coach Young’s offensive philosophy should only boost the production at the plate.
There’s no question that on paper, this pitching staff has all the makings of being one of the best and talent-rich staffs in the state, however, the question will be strike percentage and limiting walks consistently throughout the spring. Led by a quartet of junior arms in the Bailey brothers, Matthew Sowers, and Cooper Barnes, this staff is top-heavy with uber-talented right-handed arms with the ability to match up with any offense across the state. Look for seniors Dylan Adams and Brayden Corcoran to add some depth on the back end to round out the staff.

Crofton Cardinals
2025 Record: 12-10
The Cardinals enter the 2026 spring with high hopes of making a deep run through the playoffs, and the offensive production that Coach Miller returns in enticing. The biggest question will be on the bump, as the Cardinals lose a handful of impact arms from a year ago.
Offensively, Crofton returns a nice mix of speed and power throughout the lineup, headlined by senior two-ways Billy White (Marymount) and Jason Gifford. Senior Greg Frey should add some thump in the middle of the lineup as he did a year ago, as junior Kaleb Willis and sophomore Nathan Truman add depth throughout. This lineup should be fun to watch and the return of some impact bats looking to make another jump bodes well for consistent success this spring.
On the pitching side, the Cardinals will need to rely on White to lead the staff, as the departures of a slew of impact arms open up some holes on the bump. Look for Gifford and junior Evan Colgan to add some reliable innings on the backend, as some underclassmen may be called upon to eat some innings as well.

Northeast Eagles
2025 Record: 16-6
Key Departures: Bryce Peacock, Landon Shriver, Michael Kooser, Dakota Patton
High hopes for the Eagles in 2025 fell short of a deep playoff run, and as we enter the 2026 spring, look for the senior leaders to be hungry for a deeper run. Offensive production and some new faces adding reliable innings on the bump will be the main focus for Coach Bolling’s squad.
Offensively, the return of a strong three-headed monster in seniors Chase McLaughlin (UMBC), Cooper Meeks, and Jayden Saraullo (Neumann) should provide plenty of thump in the middle of the order, as fellow seniors in two-ways Carter Schreiber and Robbie Hilton look to provide more reliable at-bats this spring and add some depth throughout the lineup. Look for sophomore Jaxon McLain to turn some heads this spring as well and provide some well-added depth.
On the bump, the Eagles will need to rely on some newfound production in 2026, as their “ace” from a year ago in Jayden Saraullo will be sidelined and will only hit this spring. Look for Schreiber, Hilton, McLain, and a senior tandem in Brady Sears and Dalton Hall (Kings) to provide some nice innings on the backend, with junior Preston Ridgway adding some depth as well. A new feel and look to this rotation in 2026 will be interesting to watch, and if they keep games close, look for the offense to carry to weight throughout the spring.

Severna Park Falcons
2025 Record: 13-6
Key Departures: Adam Clark, Jacob Williams, Benji Beisler, Charlie Hartman, Vince Nguyen, Dylan Grice
The Falcons look to rebound following a relatively early exit in the playoffs a season ago, as the pitching depth should be a ton of fun to watch all spring long. We know the pitching talent is there and will be at the forefront of the success in 2026, however, the biggest question mark will be depth offensively.
Severna Park will look for a revamped offense this spring, as the Falcons graduate their top 6 hitters in their lineup. Seniors Dylan Phillips (Scranton), Brady Talbot (Eastern), and Evan Boucher (Roanoke) will look to lead the offense and be catalysts throughout the lineup, with the likes of juniors Brett Hudson and James Malena vying for more impact at-bats throughout the spring. Sophomore standout Charlie Delobe will be a name to circle this year, as the Prep Baseball Newcomer of the Year in 2025 will be relied heavily, especially offensively, to provide a boost to this lineup.
Charlie Delobe was one of our biggest standouts this preseason, running the fastball into the 90s and should be called upon to provide key innings on the bump for the Falcons. Outside of Delobe, this staff is senior-heavy with a ton of depth and experience that should match up extremely well against any offense they oppose, as seniors Kyle Witte (Lebanon Valley), Eric Benner (Davidson), Reese Davis (Frostburg State), Evan Boucher, and Teddy Uy all return and makeup one of the more lethal staffs that this state has to offer. We will have to wait to see if the offense can score enough against upper echelon teams, however, this pitching staff has all the ability to shut down opposing offenses and keep games low scoring.

Southern Bulldogs
2025 Record: 9-15
Key Departures: Owen Meyers, Clint Dorvall
The Bulldogs will look for a stronger start in 2026, and the return of their three main players from a year ago will be relied on heavily on both sides of the ball.
Offensively, the top three in the lineup return in seniors Gavin Crandell (Clarion), Nick Youmans, and Bryce Crandell. If the Bulldogs want to find success this spring, look for huge seasons from these three, as well as some underclassmen making an impact and providing depth throughout the lineup. The Crandell brothers and Youmans will eat the bulk of the innings on the bump as well, as junior Ian Benson will look to provide some well-needed depth on the backend. A tall task for these three two-ways, however, the talent is certainly there and the Bulldogs should find ways to continue to win as long as their core play up to their abilities. Depth is a question mark, but overall talent at the front-end shouldn’t be.

South River Seahawks
2025 Record: 13-8
Key Departures: DeShawn Branch, David Morris, Preston Kunst
A Seahawks team that was a ton of fun to watch compete a season ago turns the page to 2026 and looks for some added success. A few departures on both sides of the ball certainly adds some holes, however, the returners possess well needed experience and talent that should bode well this spring.
At the dish, it starts with seniors Chase Lutterbie and Nolan Hooker (UMBC), two players that should provide plenty of thump in the middle of the order. Look for junior Logan Fulda and sophomore Gavin Kunst to add some depth throughout the lineup as well.
Senior Parker Box impressed our staff last year and will look to take the bulk of the innings in 2026, as Gavin Kunst adds his name to the top-end of the rotation as well. Freshman Bryce Fulda has and continues to impress our staff and it will be interesting to see the playing time and innings on the bump that the freshman receives.
