EVENT HISTORY

Last year's Preseason All-State featured a number of strong performances. Here are three of the memorable standouts:

Connor Finn LHP / OF / Mahtomedi Senior High, MN / 2026

One of the hottest names in the state over the last 12 months, Finn has been one of the biggest risers in the 2026 class. The left-hander announced his commitment to Texas Tech in July after a strong run on the showcase circuit. A standout performance at Preseason All-State earned him an invitation to the Senior Future Games, where he committed shortly after. He later received an invite to Prep Baseball’s Super 60 and proved to be one of the top left-handed arms at the event. Finn continues to trend upward after emerging as one of the bigger standouts in the state a year ago.

Beckett Shimpa LHP / 1B / Maple Grove, MN / 2027

Shimpa was already a known name entering the event last March, but his performance elevated his profile across the state. He impressed both at the plate and on the mound, which helped earn him an invitation to the Future Games last July. Shortly after, Shimpa verbally committed to Stanford. With two seasons of high school baseball still ahead, expect the two-way standout to continue building on his upward trajectory.

Cooper Sanders RHP / 3B / Centennial, MN / 2028

The most dominant performance in the 2028 class came from Sanders, whose fastball reached 91 mph. He first began gaining national attention during the summer of 2024 when he participated in the Junior Future Games, and his momentum has continued since last March. Sanders was also invited to the Super Sophomore Games in Kansas City as part of Team Minnesota last August and remains one of the hottest names in the 2028 class.
