2026 NY Preseason ID: Hudson Valley: Quick Hits

On Tuesday, February 17th, the Prep Baseball New York staff hosted the 2026 NY Preseason ID: Hudson Valley at Capelli Sport Complex in Chester, NY. Around 45 players made it out to this event, providing us with updated looks and a new list of players to follow in New York this upcoming spring.
We begin our post-event content today with our quick hits from the event, highlighting some of the notable players from the day and their numbers.

Position Players
+ OF Aiden Matos (New Milford, 2027):
Strong 5-foot-9, 182-pound frame, primary outfielder. Matos was a winner from the event, showing a quick path to contact with the ability to consistently drive extra-base hits; exit velocity peaked at 98 MPH in BP with a 90 MPH average. Also, launched balls up to 367’. Defensively, tossed 83 mph from the outfield with clean actions

+ C Avery Farrell (Goshen, 2027):
Currently ranked No. 121 in the state’s junior class, Farrell measures 5-foot-9, 175-pounds, showed a solid defensive profile with a strong, accurate arm from the crouch, and clocked a pop time range of 2.08-2.12 with a 77 mph arm. At the plate, shows flashes of extra-base-hit power, peaked his EV at 97 mph with an average of 82 mph and a max distance of 344’.

+ SS/3B Evan Erickson (Monroe-Woodbury, 2027):
Currently ranked No. 79, Erickson stands 5-foot-9, 181-pounds and showed to be a high-level defender with athletic footwork and arm strength to make all the plays, recorded the top INF velocity of the event at 90 mph. Offensively features a fluid swing with gap-to-gap production and power upside, peaked at 97 mph with an average of 90 mph.

Two-Way Players
+ RHP/3B Carlo Porco (Our Lady of Lourdes, 2027):
Currently ranked No. 223 in the state’s junior class, Porco was a massive winner from the event. Porco is a physical 6-foot, 192-pound two-way prospect with a fastball that shows high-spin traits on the mound, topping at 82 mph and flashing a slider and changeup mix. The bat profiles for power at the plate, leading the event in max EV at 99.5 mph with an average of 85 mph and had a max distance of 352’.

Currently ranked No. 62, Anderson is a strong 5-foot-10, 185-pound two-way athlete with advanced present ability. Impact hit tool with power upside, touched 98 mph EV with an average of 91 mph and max distance of 346’. Runs it into the mid-80s on the mound, topping at 85.1 mph with a sharp CB and a CH showing 22″ of fade.

+ OF/LHP Brennan Tesseyman (Washingtonville, 2027):
Currently ranked No. 218 in the state’s 2027 class, Tesseyman has an athletic 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame. Offensively features a fluid left-handed swing with juice to the gaps, topping at 95 mph EV with an average of 88 mph and is supported by advanced Blast swing metrics, 67 mph average bat speed. On the mound, shows a live fastball up to 81 mph with arm-side run and feel for quality secondary offerings.
