Quick Hits

+ SS Kaden Crumes, 2027, Yorktown: Crumes showed significant gains in bat strength that showed in the form of triple digit peak exit velocities. He went 100.2 (2x) during a round where he worked behind the ball with an upward pass that led to some pullside batting practice homers. His infield round was clean, firing it across at 86 while also showing sure-handed / light-footed actions. He ran a 6.95 60.

+ RHP Caleb Piehler, 2027, Foothill (NV): 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame appears equally as athletic as projection-based; should be able to add weight and brings a younger look. Athletic lift into efficient lower-half drive down the slope; lands square as loose, free arm works on the backside and releases at high three-quarters. Pitched at 85-87 with the heater, showed 75-77 change, but the 75-78 curveball was his best pitch. CB played with short, two-plane depth and should work to get chase & landed strikes.

+ SS Ethan Hellems, 2028, Yorktown: Hellams was another impressive infielder, a stronger-framed, 5-foot-11, 170-pounder. He turned in a tick above average run time (7.06) and impressed most at the dish. Starting wide with connected angles, Hellems uses a slight barrel tip trigger that works in-rhythm with a heel lift load. The swing turns on-plane with efficiency and he was able to backspin the ball to all parts. The arm is an above average tool, as well.

+ 1B Blake McKibben, 2027, Yorktown: Country-strong type 6-foot-3, 210-pound frame. Turned in a 7.2; the bat was what made him stood out. Turned tight with shorter finish and impactful barrel producing a peak of 102-plus. Launched some homers with big carry; went 385 for a peak max distance.

+ OF Aiden Witt, 2027, Yorktown: Athletic, broad-shouldered, 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame. Simple leg lift stride works in-conjunction with a repeatable barrel tip to trigger. Rotates well, with tendency to over, but when synced flashed above average bat speed. Went for a 95.5 peak to pair with a 6.9 60-yard dash time. Arm reached 87 from the outfield to complete a well-rounded toolset.
