WIAA Diamond Notes: Week 7

Each week, WIAA coaches around the state submit to us their nominations for the Prep Baseball Wisconsin Player of the Week and Prep Baseball Wisconsin Pitcher of the Week honors. Yesterday, we awarded the Week 7 Player of the Week to C Brady Berg (Stratford, 2026; Wisconsin-Stevens Point), Berg would end his week 7-for-9 with 11 RBIs, two home runs, three doubles, six runs, and three walks. In his senior year, he is now batting .361 with 33 RBIs and 10 extra base hits, closing in on 100 career RBIs. The Pitcher of the Week is RHP Ethan Jeffers (River Falls, 2026; Gustavus Adolphus), Jeffers tossed seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits and one walk, while striking out eight. The righty gave a star-filled Hudson lineup fits all night long en route to a dominate performace on the mound.

There were a number of other impressive performances that were in the mix for the award and deserve recognition. Here’s a look at some of the most notable.

Week 7 Diamond Notes

+ Willy McGregor , LF (University School of Milwaukee, 2027):
McGregor had a monster performance on Monday, May 11th against Milwaukee Lutheran, where he hit for the cycle and collected nine RBIs. Overall for the week, McGregor went 9-for-14 at the plate with two walks, one double, one triple, and one home run. He finished the stretch with 13 total RBIs and seven stolen bases.


+ Andy Werner, RHP/3B (University School of Milwaukee, 2026):
Werner was a two-way force, earning a win on the mound while serving as a primary driver for the offense. At the plate, Werner went 8-for-15 with one walk and two doubles, driving in four runs and recording four stolen bases. On the mound, he made one start against St. Francis, pitching five innings and allowing three hits, three walks, and one run while striking out six batters.


+ Cooper Sievert, SS (Wisconsin Lutheran, 2027):
Sievert put together an impressive power display, logging an 11-RBI week. He went 11-for-16 at the plate with one walk, one double, one triple, and three home runs. He also added five stolen bases to his weekly totals.


+ Jayce Rue, SS (Superior , 2026):
Rue was incredibly efficient at the plate, going 7-for-9 with three walks. He showcased some power by collecting one double, one triple, and three home runs. He wrapped up his week with 11 RBIs and two stolen bases.


+ Masen Chell, C (Northwestern, 2027):
Chell turned in a highly productive stretch, going 11-for-17 at the plate with three walks. He hit four doubles and one home run while driving in 10 runs.


+ Owen Ehlke, SS (Winnebago Lutheran Academy, 2027):
Ehlke swung a hot bat, going 9-for-12 with one walk. He collected three doubles and two home runs while driving in nine runs and stealing one base.


+ Levi Whitfield, CF (Kewaskum, 2028):
Whitfield went 6-for-11 at the plate with one walk. He hit one double and one home run, finishing the weekly slate with nine RBIs and three stolen bases.


+ Connor Kavanaugh, LHP, 1B (Badger, 2028):
Kavanaugh contributed on both sides of the ball, going 5-for-8 at the plate with one walk, one double, one triple, and nine RBIs. On the mound against Elkhorn, Kavanaugh made one appearance and pitched five innings. He allowed seven hits, three walks, and two runs while striking out two batters.


+ Ethan Dillingham, 2B (Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, 2025):
Dillingham highlighted his week by launching an inside-the-park home run to stretch the lead in a matchup against Oshkosh North. Overall, he went 6-for-10 at the plate with one double and one home run, driving in eight runs and swiping one base.


+ Brecken Dudley, RH/P (Mount Horeb , 2026):
Dudley picked up a win on the mound against Portage at home and hit his first career home run in the away game at Portage. Across the week, he went 8-for-14 at the plate with one home run and seven RBIs.


+ Chase Freschi, C (Catholic Memorial, 2026):
Freschi performed well at the dish, going 8-for-14 with two walks. He recorded one double and one home run while adding six RBIs and one stolen base.


+ Tyler Smeiska, CF/C (Mukwonago, 2027):
Smeiska had a spectacular game against Oak Creek, going 4-for-4 with three home runs, five RBIs, and four runs scored. On the week as a whole, he went 5-for-10 at the plate with two walks, three home runs, six RBIs, and one stolen base.


+ Brayden Alivo, SS (St. Thomas More, 2026):
Alivo was nearly unstoppable offensively, going 11-for-18 at the plate with two walks. He collected one double, two triples, and one home run. He finished the week driving in five runs and utilizing his elite speed to record six stolen bases.


+ Jackson Fischer, 3B (Catholic Memorial, 2028):
Fischer hit 7-for-16 during the week while drawing one walk. He knocked two doubles and one home run, driving in five runs and securing one stolen base.


+ Logan Michaels, 2B/CF (Random Lake, 2026):
Michaels delivered in the clutch by hitting a go-ahead home run against Cedar Grove. Overall, he went 5-for-9 at the plate with two doubles, one triple, one home run, and three RBIs.


+ Carson Roemhild, SS (Boyceville, 2026):
Roemhild put up an impressive offensive stat line, going 7-for-10 at the plate with two walks. He hit one double, one triple, and two home runs while collecting three RBIs and four stolen bases.


+ Dominic Bombien, UTL (Franklin, 2028):
Bombien proved crucial out of the bullpen in game one against Tremper, entering a 4-4 tie with two runners on and no outs and escaping the jam without allowing a run. Across two appearances against Tremper, he pitched four innings, allowing only one hit, one walk, and no runs while striking out seven. At the plate, he went 7-for-10 with four walks, two doubles, five RBIs, and one stolen base.


+ Dominic Walters, LF (Franklin, 2026):
Walters went 6-for-13 at the plate on the week. He tallied three extra-base hits with one double, one triple, and one home run, driving in three runs and recording two stolen bases.


+ Jack Templeton, RHP, 1B OF (Wauwatosa East, 2026):
Templeton went 5-for-8 at the plate with one walk, three doubles, and one triple, driving in three runs. On the mound against Waukesha South, he made one start and pitched four innings, allowing five hits, one walk, and no runs while striking out four.


+ Oliver Heckelsmiller, C (Verona Area 2027):
Heckelsmiller collected a high volume of hits, going 11-for-25 at the plate with three walks. He hit one double and one home run, driving in eight runs.


+ Landon Lassahn, RHP (Verona Area, 2026):
Lassahn stood out on the mound across two appearances against Middleton and Janesville Parker, logging 12 total innings. He allowed six hits, four walks, and two runs while dominating opposing hitters with 15 strikeouts.


+ Paxton Schuh, DH/LHP (Kaukauna , 2026):
Schuh provided late-game heroics against Appleton North by hitting a game-tying, two-RBI single in the seventh inning and later blasting a walk-off home run in extra innings. He also served as the starting pitcher in that contest. On the week, Schuh went 7-for-14 at the plate with two walks, two home runs, seven RBIs, and one stolen base.


+ Carson Gates, RHP (Kaukauna, 2026):
Gates had a masterful week on the mound, highlighted by throwing a no-hitter against Oshkosh North and closing out a tight victory against Appleton North. Across his two appearances, he pitched six and one-third innings, allowing only one hit, one walk, and no runs while striking out six.


Bay Port

The Pirates finished the week 2-0, defeating Notre Dame 3-2, and Green Bay Southwest 32-0. Below are some of the top performers from last week.

+ Arthur Adams V, C (Bay Port, 2027):
Adams showed off his power by hitting two home runs, including a crucial grand slam during an 11-8 victory over Manitowoc. Overall, he finished his week going 5-for-12 at the plate with three walks, two home runs, and seven RBIs.

+ Eli Hart, SS (Bay Port, 2028):
Hart was incredibly effective at reaching base and producing runs, going 7-for-11 at the plate with six walks. He slapped three doubles and one home run, ending the weekly stretch with six RBIs and three stolen bases.

+ Searin Mueller, RHP (Bay Port, 2026):
Mueller spun a gem on the mound against Green Bay Preble, throwing a six-inning shutout. He allowed no runs on just two hits and two walks while racking up 10 strikeouts.

+ Parker Lawson, RHP (Bay Port, 2026):
Lawson proved to be a workhorse on the mound, throwing an eight-inning complete game to secure a 3-1 victory over Manitowoc. He gave up just four hits and no walks, allowing only one run while striking out nine batters.


Brookfield Central

Below are some of the top performers from last week’s Brookfield Central games.

+ Nolan Monosso, 1B (Brookfield Central, 2026):
Monosso finished the week going 3-for-7 at the plate with two walks and three RBIs.

+ Caedyn Kradecki, CF (Brookfield Central, 2027):
Kradecki went 2-for-4 at the plate with one walk, two RBIs, and one stolen base.

+ Vince Bitter, 1B (Brookfield Central, 2026):
Bitter put together a strong contact week, going 6-for-9 at the plate with one walk and one stolen base.

+ Colton Semmelmann, LHP (Brookfield Central, 2026):
Semmelmann turned in a quality start against Germantown, pitching six innings. He allowed three hits, one walk, and one run while collecting nine strikeouts.
