Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.
We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. No. 3 Lincoln-Way East defeated Sandburg by the score of 3-2 to improve to 28-4 of the season. The Griffins offense got started in the third inning when Rocco Triolo (2027) knocked in a two-RBI double. Later, in the sixth inning, Keegan Crabtree (2028) hit an RBI single to knock in an insurance run that proved to be crucial. On the mound, Cooper Johnson (2027; Purdue Commit) tossed 6.1 innings and five punchouts while giving up three hits and two earned runs, which was enough to earn the win.

Stevenson took down No. 4 Huntley by the score of 11-3. The Patriots offense was led by Brody Aaron (2027) and Ryan Martin (2026; Joliet JC Commit), who each knocked in three RBIs. Aaron went 2-for-3 with a single, double, hit by pitch, a walk, and a run scored. Martin went 2-for-4 with a single, three-run homer, and a couple runs scored. Ryan Harris (2026; UIC Commit) also played the long ball with a two-run homer. Sam Prosk (2026) was the key pitcher on the mound for the Patriots as he went four innings in relief, punched out three hitters, and gave up three hits and a run, which was enough to earn him the win.

Andrew took down No. 5 Lockport by the score of 4-3 in walk-off fashion. Ben Reilly pitched through all eight innings and punched out seven hitters. On offense, sacrifice flies came from Reilly and Connor Vrastil (2026). Caden Kendall (2026; UW-Whitewater) knocked in an RBI single, which was the three runs within the first three innings. Five innings later, Nathan Saleh (2027) hit the walk-off RBI single for an upset victory.

No. 7 Triad took down Freeburg, winning by the score of 6-1. Brody Hasquin (2027) was in control on the mound, throwing a complete game with just one run allowed and punching out four, taking him just sixty-nine pitches to do so. Nolan Keller (2026; Kaskaskia) lea the scoring for the Knights, going 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Kannon Seipp (2027; Jefferson JC) also had a multi-hit day, going 2-for-3 with a double and a run batted in.

No. 11 St. Joseph-Ogden took down Newton by the score of 8-1. Parker Fitch (2026; Lake Land) was dominant on the mound and pitched a complete game with an earned run allowed and nine punchouts. Will Haley (2026; Kankakee) and Kodey McKinney (2026) both had multi-hit games. Bryson Houchens (2026; Morton) homered in the game, reaching base three times in a 1-for-2 day with two walks and two RBIs en route to the win.

No.16 Minooka held on to defeat Oswego East 6-5 to win the three game series. Ryan Keener (2026; Illinois Wesleyan commit) led the Indians with two hits, Brady Kozlowski (2026; Findlay commit) doubled and drove in two, and Rhett Harris (2026; Parkland commit) added an RBI double. Kyle Rodak collected the six-out save, allowing one unearned run while striking out two. Dominic Battista (2026; UIC commit) walked three times and swiped four bags for the Wolves.

No. 17 Mascoutah rolled past Carterville 12-0 in five innings. Darren Klein (2027) was dominant on both sides of the ball, tossing five shutout innings, allowing three hits and one walk, while striking out five. At the plate he was a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. Nathan Walker (2026; Southwestern Illinois JC commit; HR, 3 RBI) and Christian Epps (2027; 2-for-2, 2 2B, RBI, BB) also had solid days at the plate. The top five hitters in the order combined for 10 hits, with four players recording multi-hit performances.

No. 18 Tremont walked-off Farmington 1-0 to move to 31-2 on the year. Justin Muselman (2026) swatted the game-winning double in the bottom of the seventh to score Griffin Meeker (2026; Heartland CC) - who reached earlier in the inning on an error. Andrew Dawson (2026; Valparaiso) and Chase Rhodes (2026; John A. Logan) each went 2-for-3 at the plate. Rhodes was also dominant on the mound, tossing six innings of shutout ball, allowing just one hit and two walks, while punching out 14.

No. 19 Normal University took down Pleasant Plains 10-3. Cole Brent (2027; Illinois) had a big day out of the leadoff spot, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two walks, two stolen bases, two RBI, and two runs scored. Caleb Hornbrook (2026; Lake Land JC) also had a productive day at the dish going 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBI. Parker Roop (2027; Belmont) had a scoreless appearance out of the 'pen for the Pioneers, tossing an inning and two-thirds, allowing just one walk, while punching out one.

O'Fallon defeated East St. Louis by a score of 15-0 in game one of a double header yesterday to improve their record to 22-10. Asher Cantu (2026; Southwestern Illinois JC) went 3-for-3 including a 2B, 3B and HR totaling 5RBI. Cole Becker (2026; Central Alabama CC) and Zander Williamson both went 2-for-3, scoring two runs. On the mond Owen Stoffel (2026) went 4IP, 0H, 0R, 0ER, 0BB, 8K to earn the win.

Fallon defeated East St. Louis by a score of 29-0 in game two of a double header yesterday to improve their record to 23-10 on the season. At the plate the Panthers were paced by Jake Weinhoef (2028) 2-for-2 with a 2B, HR and 8RBI. Liam Decker (2027), Landon Dippel (2027), Luka Freidenberg (2027) and Kaleb Weber (2026) all had multiple hit games for the Panthers. On the mound for the Panthers Anthony Perez (2026; Central Alabama CC) went 4IP, 1H, 0R, 0ER, 0BB, 10K to earn the win.

Mt. Zion took down Normal West in a 13-inning thriller on a walk-off double from Kellen Bollhorst (2027). Mt. Zion’s Connor Fox (2027) and Normal West’s Ty Bachman (2028) battled to keep opposing hitters at bay. Fox went seven shutout innings, striking out ten while giving up two hits and walking none. Bachman returned the favor with six strong innings, fanning ten batters while allowing three hits and walking four. Peyton Delgado (2027) came in relief for the Braves, tossing five two-hit frames and striking out six. Wildcat reliever Kipton Trout (2029) added six innings of his own, giving up just two hits and one walk as he struck out nine. Mt. Zion finally broke through in the bottom of the thirteenth inning after Evan Howley (2027) walked with one out. Howley stole second base before advancing to third base on a wild pitch. With two outs, Bollhorst sealed the deal with a walk-off double to bring home the game’s lone run.

Oak Park-River Forest defeated York by a score of 10-1 to improve their record to 26-8 on the season. Brandon Beasley (2027; Illinois State) led the way at the plate for the Huskies with 6RBI coming off a grand slam and two sacrifice flys. Zach Goldberg (2026), Liam Moroney (2026) and Robert Kolovitz (2027) all collected multiple hits for the Huskies and Oliver Puntillo added a home run that tied the ball game in the bottom of the 2nd inning. On the mound Grayson Waters (2027) collected the complete game win going 7IP, 4H, 1R, 0ER, 3BB, 6K.

Barrington defeated Prospect by a score of 5 to 1 to improve their record to 22-12 on the season. Jack Postma (2028) threw a complete game no hitter for the Broncos to earn the win. At plate for Barrington Max Wrzezcz (2027), Ryan Costello (2026), Drew Whitney (2028) all recorded 1B RBI's, Jackson Roberts had a sacrafice fly and Zack Ostergaard doubled to drive in a run. Mason Haddon took the mound for the Knights going 6IP, 6H, 5R, 3ER, 2BB, 0K.

Mahomet-Seymour defeated Bloomington by the score of 7-1. Nolan Sanderson (2026) led the Bulldogs offense with a sacrifice fly, RBI double, a walk, and a run scored. In the fifth inning, Bradley Jones (2028) hit a two-RBI single, Cade Ashby (2026) an RBI single, and Cole Henderson (2026) with a bases-loaded walk as part of a five-run inning. On the mound, Max Young (2026; Southwestern Illinois JC Commit) tossed five hitless frames and struck out five while giving up a pair of walks. Bradley Jones tossed a hitless frame and punched out two to continue the no hitter through six innings. Nic Brauer (2027) pitched the seventh inning and struck out a batter while giving up Bloomington's only hit and run of the game.

Montini Catholic came from behind to defeat Maine South 5-3. Robert Sansone (2026) took the mound and tossed five innings and struck out five hitters, which earned him the win thanks to his offense. In the bottom of the fifth inning, a crooked number was put up by the Broncos. John Louise (2027) hit an RBI single to cut the deficit to just one. Two batters later, Nick Mandra (2026; Oakton CC Commit) hit the go-ahead two-RBI double to give the Broncos the lead. Then, Quin Paprockas (2026; Joliet JC Commit) knocked in an insurance run on his RBI groundout, which capped off a four-run inning.

New Trier won in dominant fashion against St. Patrick with a 7-0 shutout. Daniel Spilotro (2026), Myles Jenkins (2028), and Stavros Douvikas (2027) combined to hold the Shamrocks to zero runs. The Trevian offense was led by Keenan Donaldson (2026; 3-for-3, 2 2B, RBI), Clayton Balch (2028; 3-for-3, R, RBI), and Rowan Hester (2026; 2-for-3, 2 RBI). Jalen Gonzalez (2026; College of DuPage commit) led the St. Patrick offense going 3-for-4 with two doubles.

Reavis shutout Marian Catholic by the score of 5-0. RBI knocks came from Jonathan Liesen (2026; Morton JC Commit) and Anthony Perez (2026) both in the fifth inning. Liesen provided the two-RBI double while Perez hit the RBI single to stretch the lead to five. The Marian Catholic offense got shut down thanks to Juan Avila's (2026) performance on the mound. He tossed 6.2 scoreless frames and struck out six hitters while giving up two hits and two walks in his quality start.

St. Charles East shutout Benet Academy by the score of 10-0. The first two batters in the Saints lineup led the offense with four RBIs combined. Kyle LaRose (2027) went 3-for-4 with a single, two doubles, and three runs scored. James Feigleson (2026; UIC Commit) had a perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate with two singles, two doubles, a stolen base, and two runs scored. Sean Groselak knocked in an RBI single while Niko Vahmistrovs (2026; Dubuque Commit) hit a sacrifice fly in this contest. Nathan Moline (2026; Elgin CC Commit) pitched a five-inning complete game five-hit shutout and recorded four punchouts.

Yorkville defeated Bolingbrook 11–2 to complete the three-game series sweep. Yorkville received contributions throughout the lineup, with nine players recording a hit, seven scoring a run, and six driving in runs. Kaleb Gossett (2029; 2-for-3, 2 RBI, 2 R, BB) and Joshua Garcia (2026; 2-for-4, 2B) each turned in a multi-hit performance. Jackson Knickerbocker (2027) got the win tossing five innings, giving up one earned run.

Teutopolis cruised past Mattoon 18-2 behind their high powered offense. Austin Borries (2026; Lindenwood commit; 4-for-5, 2B, 3 RBI, 3 R), Nolan Schumacher (2027; 3-for-3, 2B, 4 RBI, R, BB) and Jason Kreke (2026; Kaskaskia JC commit; 2B, 4 RBI) combined to drive in 11 runs. Davin Worman (2026; Kaskaskia JC commit) got the win on the mound going all six innings, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks, while striking out nine.

Alton defeated Collinsville by the score of 4-3, walking it off in the bottom of the seventh on a bases loaded walk. Logan Hickman (2026; John A Logan JC) went 2-for-3 in the game with a home run, RBI, two runs scored and a walk. On the mound, Hickman threw four innings, struck out eight, walked three, allowed two runs and four hits.

Bartlett defeated South Elgin in fifteen innings, winning by the score of 2-1. The game was held scoreless for fourteen innings until Josh Colaizzi (2026; McHenry County) would open the scoring on a single. Colaizzi would finish the day 3-for-7 with a double and an RBI. Vince Yario also added the winning run on an RBI to extend the lead. Bartlet got plenty of help on the mound, with Brandon Pelz (2026; Valparaiso) getting the start and throwing six shutout innings with seven strikeouts. Aiden Mertez (2027) would be the first name called out of the 'pen, throwing five innings of one-hit ball with four strikeouts. Joe Kennedy (2026) would be the second name called, throwing three hitless innings of his own. Despite the loss, South Elgin was just as dominant on the mound throughout the game, with Zach Barkho (2026; Elgin) and Jonathan Niksich (2027) combining for fourteen shutout innings. Barkho got the start, throwing eight innings allowing two hits and a walk with thirteen strikeouts. Niksich putting up six innings of his own and allowing just two hits, two walks and picking up eleven strikeouts.

St. Francis took down Riverside-Brookfield by the score of 7-2. Michael Spahn (2026) went 2-for-2 and rove in a pair of runs with a walk. Matthew Griffin (2027) and Matt Jaina (2026)each went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, with Jaina also driving in a run on the day.

East Moline United shut out Morris, winning 10-0 in just five innings. Zach Darras (20226; Carl Sandburg) threw four shutout innings, striking out five Morris batters. Quinn Scott (2026; St. Scholastica) led the scoring for East Moline United, driving in three in a 2-for-3 performance at the plate in the win.

Crystal Lake South defeated Richmond-Burton 8-1. Nick Stowasser (2027: 3 H, 5 RBI) and Carson Trivellini (2027; Illinois commit; 3-for-4, 2 R, 2 SB) led the offense at the top of the order. Ryan Morgan earned the win going three scoreless innings in relief, striking out six. Ian Christopher (2028) and Julian Redmond (2026; Oakton commit) each picked up a perfect inning in relief.

Evergreen Park held on to defeat Chicago Christian 10–9 in a back-and-forth battle. Noah Munoz (2027; 2 2B, 3 RBI) had a solid day and Luis Ayala walked four times and drove in two for the Mustangs. Ian Mora (2029) got it done on both sides of the ball going 3-for-3 at the plate, and five innings on the mound, allowing two earned runs. Austin Assink (2026; Southeastern CC commit; 3-for-3, 3 2B, 2 RBI, 3 R, 2 BB) had a huge day at the plate for the Knights.

East Peoria shutout Springfield Southeast by the score of 10-0. Auggie Lohnes (2026; Illinois Central JC Commit) carried the Raiders offense by going 2-for-4 with a single and a three-run home run. R.J. Duncheon (2026; Illinois State Commit) hit a solo home run as his hit of the day. Jacob Bond (2027) dominated on the mound with a complete game three-hit shutout and 11 punchouts and no walks allowed.

Gibault Catholic defeated Christ Our Rock Lutheran by the score of 8-1. Carson Timmons (2027) carried the Hawks offense with five RBIs of the game. This includes a pair of two-RBI doubles and an RBI single in his 4-for-4 day at the plate. Oh by the way, he had a strong outing on the mound too with a complete game, eight strikeouts, giving up six hits, a walk and a run.

Wheaton-Warrenville South took down Batavia 9-3 to earn the three-game series sweep. AJ Rogers (2028; 4-for-5, 2B, 2 R), Reece Franks (2026; Wheaton college commit; 3-for-5, RBI) and Blake Snyder (2027; 2-for-3, 2 RBI, 3 R, 2 BB, 2 SB) led the Tigers offense. Jacob Conover (2026; Missouri Southern commit; 5 IP, 4 H, 3 R, ER, BB, 5 K) and Aiden Quartz (2026; Alma college; 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K) combined to shut down the Bulldogs.

Glenbard East came from behind and beat West Aurora 6-5 in extra innings. After a rough start, Daniel Wells (2028) and Collin LaCount came in clutch in their relief appearances with no runs allowed from both of them. Wells went 2.2 innings with three punchouts and only giving up a hit. LaCount pitched the final three frames and struck out four while giving up a hit and walk to earn the win. On offense, the Rams were led by Jackson Turko (2028), who went 4-for-4 with a walk, stolen base, double, two-RBI single, and the RBI single that proved to be the game winner in the extra frame. Other key players include Josh Ziemer (2026; Elgin CC Commit) with a solo homer and Tyler Hampton (2027) with the game-tying RBI single with two outs in the seventh.

Belleville West took down Belleville East by the score of 7-1. Lucas Womack (2027) got the start for the Maroons, logging over five shutout innings of work, allowing four hits, three walks, and collecting seven strikeouts. Braden Fournie (2026; Lindenwood) was seeing the ball well at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles. Austin Weissert (2027) would pick up three hits of his own, going 3-for-3 with an RBI and run scored. Parker Wells (2027) and Max Feazel (2027) each brought in a pair of runs en route to the win.

Carlyle shut out Hillsboro 10-0. Austin Johnson (2028; 3-for-4, 2 2B, 4 RBI, R), Eli Gray (2028; 2 2B, 2 RBI, R) and Dean Frank (2020; 2 H, RBI, R) propelled the Indians to a 10 run win. Jonathan Schmitt (2026; 5.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K) tossed a gem for Carlyle.

DuQuoin took down Mater Dei 5-2. Cy Craft got the start and collected ten strikeouts in four innings of work, only allowing one run. Max Zimmerman provided three strong innings of relief, only allowing one run and striking out six hitters to help secure the win. Noah Siefert had three hits in a 3-for-4 day while also driving in a run.

Glenbrook North shutout Cary-Grove by the score of 4-0. RBI knocks came from Jake Semmelhack (2026) on his fielder's choice, Theo Gerothanas (2026) on his sacrifice fly, and Ethan Bass on his RBI single. Dean Miller (2026) and Ben Taber (2026) combined for a two-hit shutout. Miller pitched five scoreless frames and struck out five hitters while giving up a hit to earn the win. Taber finished the final two frames and punched out four hitters while giving up a hit and walk.

Nashville took down Fairfield by the low score of 3-1. Bennett Pinski (2027) put together seven strong innings, allowing two hits, three walks, one unearned run, and striking out six. Kolby Suedmeyer (2026) drove in a run in the second to open the scoring, and Kassidy Linkey (2027) drove in the eventual winning run on a double in the third.

Herscher defeated Bloomington Central Catholic by the score of 10-7. After the Tigers offense was shutout for the first three innings, they answered with ten runs in the last four innings. The bulk of it was led by Mason Roberts, who knocked in five RBIs. He went 3-for-4 with a bases-clearing double, a pair of RBI singles, a stolen base, and a run scored. In the sixth inning, Nash Brubaker (2026) hit the game-tying RBI single while Dylan Bayston hit the go-ahead RBI single that proved to be the game winner.

Holy Trinity shut out Walther Christan Academy by the score of 11-0. The Fighting Tigers was led by Noe Hernandez (2026), who went 2-for-3 with an RBI double, a bases-clearing double, hit by pitch, and a run scored. Andrew Ruiz was another key player that knocked in two RBIs on his two-run single while stealing three bags on the basepaths. Jovanni Martinez and Julian Mora combined for a four-inning two-hit shutout with no walks allowed. Martinez tossed three hitless frames and struck out seven hitters. Mora pitched the fourth and final inning and got one punchout while giving up two hits.

St. Anthony shut out Dieterich by the score of 8-0. RBI hits for the Bulldogs came from three hitters, including an RBI single by Charley Spour (2027), and RBI doubles by Curtis Tingley (two runs) and Aiden Lauritzen (2026). Lauritzen took the mound and completely shut down the Dieterich offense with a complete game three-hit shutout in which he struck out ten hitters and did not allow a walk.
