2026 CHSAA Power 25: Week 9

Colorado Power 25

The Prep Baseball Colorado staff is looking forward to diligently scouting players and teams throughout this spring, and will continue to work hard to bring the state top notch coverage on the baseball diamond. Colorado is flourishing with high-end baseball talent at the moment and is starting to gather more and more national recognition as well. We hope to continue all momentum in the state while making an impact on the players and teams within.

Throughout the 2026 season, our staff will be publishing scout notes/video, and additional in-season content along the way, like Power 25 updates, Player of the Week awards, 'Daily Roundups', and weekly top performers included inside Diamond Notes.

TOP 25 (WEEK 9):

Colorado CHSAA play is hitting its stride across all classifications, and last week’s action delivered some major shake-ups to the Power 25. The last unbeaten team in 4A, Roosevelt, finally took its first loss of the season at the hands of Fossil Ridge, while Regis Jesuit (previously unbeaten in-state) dropped a statement game on the Western Slope against a surging Fruita Monument squad.

That leaves Arvada West as the lone team in Colorado without an in-state loss, vaulting them into the No. 1 spot. Both Arvada West and Regis Jesuit still look like the teams to beat in 5A as the postseason approaches, but the gap is tightening. Grandview, Mountain Vista, and Brighton are all riding strong win streaks and building serious momentum at the right time. Add in contenders like Broomfield, Erie, Ralston Valley, Cherry Creek, and Pine Creek, and 5A is shaping up to be a gauntlet come playoff time.

Another team heating up is Fort Collins, which just picked up back-to-back wins over Rocky Mountain, launching themselves into the top 25 and firmly into the conversation.

In 4A, a clear group of frontrunners is beginning to separate with Golden, Palisade, Falcon, and Roosevelt leading the charge. Still, there’s plenty of depth behind them; Durango, Grand Junction, Pueblo County, and Lutheran all have the pieces to make legitimate postseason runs.

3A continues to be headlined by University and Eaton, while 2A powerhouse Forge Christian is putting together one of the more impressive seasons in the state at 18-2. That resume includes a big-time win over Eaton and MLB prospect Gunnar Garrison, further cementing their status as a top team to watch in the 2A class.

With RPI standings starting to take shape and regional host spots soon to be locked in, expect even more movement in the weeks ahead. The postseason picture is far from settled, and that’s exactly what makes this stretch of the season so compelling.
