Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. Tristan Steger (2027; Kentucky) went 2-for-2 with a pair of triples, three RBI and a walk, and Mickey Lotus (2026; Lewis) went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI three runs scored and a walk. Daniel Coyle (2026; Lewis) added a triple, double, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk. On the mound, Jonah Sloane (2028) tossed two innings, struck out three, walked one, allowed no runs and one hit.

Kaden O'Leary (2027) fired two innings in relief, struck out four, allowed no walks or runs while surrendering only two hits. O'Leary also doubled in the game, drove in one run and walked once, and Connor Ryan (2026; Lewis) collected a pair of hits in the game with one run scored. For Morris, Cade Laudeman (2026) went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Joey Ireland (2026; Illinois) went 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, four runs scored and a walk, and TJ McQuillan (2026; Wake Forest) went 2-for-2 with a double, four runs scored and three walks. For Brother Rice, Brady Cunningham (2026; Texas A&M) went 3-for-4 with two home runs, six RBI, three runs scored and a walk. Gavin Stanislawski (2027) added three hits, one being a home run, with two RBI and two runs scored, and Charlie Rosynek (2026) went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and one run scored.

Carson Moll (2026; Rend Lake JC Commit) went 3-for-3 with a double, two singles, three runs scored, and two RBIs. Nolan Lebert (2026; Olivet Nazarene Commit) went 2-for-2 with a sacrifice fly, RBI single, walk, and three runs scored. Darren Klein (2027) hit an RBI double in this contest. Quinn Ford (2026) pitched a four-inning complete game shutout and struck out three batters.

In game 2, No. 14 Mascoutah routed Salem again, this time by the score of 14-0. Mason Bennett (2027) led the Indians offense for this contest by going 1-for-2 with a two-RBI single and a bases-loaded walk to knock in three RBIs. CJ Epps (2027) hit an RBI double and got hit by a pitch to force in a run. Five bases were stolen by the Indians in this matchup. Three of them came from Nolan Lebert and two from Gabe James (2027). Jackson Grindstaff got the job done on both sides of the ball. He went 1-for-2 with an RBI single, a bases-loaded hit by pitch, a run scored, and two RBIs. On the mound, he pitched a five-inning complete game shutout and struck out three batters.

No. 16 Edwardsville defeated Parkway South by the score of 9-3. The Tigers offense was led by Nathan Bukovac, who went 2-for-3 with a double, single, a run scored, and four RBIs. Hunter Baugh went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a single, run scored, and an RBI. Tyson Wampler hit an RBI single while Zane Maxwell laid down a sacrifice bunt to knock in their RBIs of the game. Jax Andreas had a nice relief outing by tossing four scoreless frames and striking out two batters.

Max Silic (2027) scored on a passed ball. Peyton Globke (2026) hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning that proved to be the game winner. Owen Chudzinski (2027) pitched four scoreless frames in relief and struck out seven to secure the win.

Mike Kalkowski (2027) went 1-for-2 with a single, two walks, a stolen base, run scored, and two RBIs. Nate Zdenovec (2028) went five innings and struck out five batters to secure the win. Mike Preuss (2027) did not allow a baserunner and recorded a six-out save.

Bruesch also tossed four innings on the mound and struck out seven. Matthew Martija (2027) earned the win, tossing three innings in relief with four strikeouts, one walk, no earned runs and three hits allowed. For Lake Park, Colton Hardman (2028) tossed a complete game with seven strikeouts, one walk, two earned runs and seven hits allowed.

Parker Roop (2027; Belmont) went 3-for-5 with a triple, double, three RBI and one run scored, and Brevan Shickel (2029) went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and one run scored. Caleb Hornbrook (2026; Lake Land JC) added three hits, two being doubles, with two RBI and a walk. Isaac Schroeder (2028) threw two perfect innings in relief and struck out five.

Colton Carptenter put together a dominant complete-game performance on the mound, going seven innings with five hits, two runs allowed (one earned), and striking out four. Offensively, the Pioneers had a six-run sixth inning that power them to the win. Parker Roop finished the day 3-for-5 at the plate with three runs driven in. Cole Brent and Caleb Hornbrook each had a two-hit day at the plate, with each finishing 2-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs and 2-for-3 with a triple, respectively.

No. 22 Nazareth Academy took down Chicago Hope by a score of 10-7. Landon Thome (2026; Florida State) and Gavin Hartigan (2028) each had a multi-hit performance out of the top of the lineup. Thome finished the day 2-for-3 with three runs scored, a double, a walk, and an RBI, with Hartigan finishing 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a walk, and an RBI. Marco Fiore was also seeing the ball well, finishing the day 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, and an RBI to help power Nazareth Academy to the win.

No. 23 New Trier shut down the Barrington bats, only allowing two hits all game en route to a 3-0 victory. Ethan Killion (2028) and Myles Jenkins (2028) only allowed three men on all game. Killion got the start and went three innings, allowing one hit and punching out four, with Jenkins finishing with four innings in relief, allowing a hit, walk, and one strike out to help lead New Trier to a win.

No. 24 St. Rita staged a late game comeback to take down DePaul, winning 6-5. Down 4-3 in the top of the seventh, St. Rita tied the game thanks to a Colin Quinn (2026, Heartland) game-tying triple in the seventh inning, with Ryan Jones (2027) bringing in the go-ahead run on a single. St. Rita would go on to score another by a walk to make the game 6-4, and held off DePaul. Gregory Zaber (2027) got the start for St. Rita, pitching over five innings of work and punching out five, with Ryan Jones shutting the door in the seventh to secure the win. Despite the loss, Ash Marcel had strongest day at the plate for either team, finishing the day 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs.

Soren Hansen (2026) broke a 2-2 tie with a two-run double in the bottom of the 6th inning as the Rams held on for the one-run victory moving their record to 15-2 on the season. Charlie Surowiec (2027) stayed hot at the plate with three hits including a double and Rocco Rand (2026) tossed the final two innings to pick up the win.

Marian Catholic defeated Saint Viator 5-4. Tyler Thomas led the Spartans going 3-for-4 with an RBI in the win. For Saint Viator, Alec Harer (2027) and Tanner Beyna (2027) each recorded two hits in the loss.

Saint Viator defeated Marian Catholic 15-5. Alec Harer (2027; 3-for-4), Tanner Beyna (2027; 2-for-2, HR, RBI), Brandon Thomsen (2026; Purdue; 2-for-2, 4 RBI), and Jack Corliss (2-for-3, 3 RBI) led the Lions' offense in the win.

The Saints erased a 2-1 deficit in the fifth inning with one run in the fifth and five runs in the sixth inning to beat Wheaton North on Saturday. Kyle LaRose (2027) was 2-for-4 at the plate with a double, a triple, two RBI and two runs scored. Gavin Fuscone (2026) was also 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Mason Daros (2026) was 2-for-3 with an RBI. James Feigleson (2026; UIC), Dylan McCabe (2027) and Niko Vahmistrovs (2026; Dubuque) also drove in an RBI each. Nathan Moline (2026; Elgin CC; 4.1 IP) and LaRose (2.2 IP) combined for 10 strikeouts in the win. The Saints improved to 14-4 overall and 6-1 in the Dukane Conference.

CF Jake Bonino (2026; South Suburban) led off the game with a home run and later went deep with a second solo shot to ignite Willowbrook to a 10-2 victory in a West Suburban crossover meeting. Bonino finished 3-for-4 with 3 RBI and 1B Alek Ramey (2026; Rock Valley) added a 2-run homer. SS Jory Crocker (2026; Arizona) was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and pitched the seventh inning, striking out three. RHP Mikey Garner (2027) earned the win, allowing only one hit and fanning six across four innings as the Warriors improved to 16-4 with their 15th consecutive victory.
