Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. Stevenson took down No. 4 Huntley by the score of 8-6. The Patriots offense was led by Ryan Harris (2026; UIC Commit), who went 2-for-4 with two RBI singles and a run scored. Ryan Martin (2026; Joliet JC Commit) knocked in two runs on his sacrifice bunt and a bases-loaded hit by pitch. Frank Costabile (2026; UIC Commit) and Sam Adelman (2026) each knocked in RBI singles for this contest. Alex Han (2026; MIT Commit) got the win in relief with four innings and five strikeouts. Frank Costabile recorded a six-out save and punched out five batters without allowing a run. For Huntley, their offense was led by Kyle Ziebell (2026; Lake Land JC Commit), who drove in four RBIs on his two-run single and two-run double.

H C. Holmes: 2-for-3, HR, HBP, 2 R, 3 RBI

No. 6 Libertyville defeated Grayslake Central by the score of 8-2. The Wildcats offense was led by Carson Holmes (2026), who went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, hit by pitch, two-run home run, and two runs scored. Braden Tolzien (2026; Heartland CC Commit) went 2-for-4 with two singles, including one that knocked in two RBIs. Mathew Hara (2027) hit two doubles, including an RBI double. He also walked and scored three runs in this contest. Kaden Butt (2027) tossed 4.2 innings and struck out five batters, which earned him the win.

No. 10 Lane Tech routed Lake View to a blowout victory 20-0. The Champions offense was led by Matt Young (2026; UW-Whitewater Commit), who went 3-for-5 with a double, two singles, a stolen base, two runs scored, and five RBIs. Zolan Wyatt (2026; UW-Oshkosh Commit) was a key player who hit for the cycle on his perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate, knocking in four RBIs. Jorge Castellon (2026) drove in three RBIs without recording a hit. Luke Kam (2026) drove in two RBIs on his inside-the-park home run and RBI double. Both hits came during the Champions' 11-run fourth inning. Jake Saltarelli (2027) and Donovan Yoest (2026) threw a four-inning combined no-hitter.

No. 19 Lemont defeated Richards by the score of 5-2. The offense got the job done in the first inning. Brett Tucker (2026; Southern Illinois-Edwardsville Commit) and Zane Schneider (2027) hit back-to-back solo home runs. Then, later in the inning, Matteo Rendina (2027) knocked in a two-RBI single. Luke Marusarz (2027) tossed five innings and struck out four, which earned him the win. Jack Drozda (2026) came in relief and recorded the six-out save without allowing a run.

No. 25 Dunlap defeated East Moline United by the score of 7-4. The Eagles offense was led by Eli Michanicou (2027), who went 2-for-3 with a single, two-run home run, a walk, stolen base, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Jake Weeks (2027) also drove in two RBIs on his RBI single and RBI groundout. Brett Alkire (2027) went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI single. Isaac Babbs (2027) hit a sacrifice fly in this contest. Landon Halcomb pitched two relief innings without allowing a hit and picked up the win. Landon Gray (2026; Luther Commit) closed out the game by striking out three of the four batters he faced to record the save.

The top three hitters in the order—Carson Ebeling (2026; 3-for-4, RBI, 2 R, SB), Peter Pignatiello (2028; 2-for-4, RBI, 3 R, SB), and Quinn Rooney (2027; Notre Dame commit; 2-for-3, HR, 4 RBI, R, BB) led the charge offensively.

Burlington Central routed Woodstock North 12-0 in five innings. Nine players for the Rockets recorded a hit, highlighted by Zach Hartwig (2026; 3-for-3, RBI, R, HBP, SB) and Sam Maglares (2026; 2-for-3, RBI, 2 R). Ashton Binz (2028) got the start on the mound and went three strong innings, striking out four.

Champaign Central 6

Recap

Champaign Central beat Normal West 6-1 to improve to 13-5 on the season. Tre Cole (2026; Wright State commit) controlled the game, going six innings, allowing three hits and one run, while striking out seven. Offensively, Will McDaniel (2026) had an RBI double, Ben McDaniel (2027) collected two hits and a SB, and Nic Bralts (2028) had two hits, an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base.

Downers Grove North 2
Downers Grove South 1
Recap

Downers Grove North held on to defeat Downers Grove South 2-1. Angelo Chiarelli (2026) got the start and the win on the mound going five innings, allowing just one run. Colin Doyle (2027) got the save, going the final two innings, only giving up one hit, while striking out four. Despite the loss, James Sobkowiak (2028) was dominant on the mound, going all seven innings, allowing no earned runs, while striking out 12.

Elgin 7

Recap

Elgin beat Marian Central Catholic 7-4. Jacob Rufino (2027) struck out nine over five innings, and also added an RBI-single at the plate. Matthew Caldwell (2026) added two hits and an RBI for the Maroons. Jackson Hatfield (2026; St. Norbert College commit) singled and reached on a HBP for the Hurricanes.

Hampshire beat Harvest-Westminster 5-4 in eight innings. Logan Nawrocki (2027) delivered the go-ahead single in extras, capping off a 3-for-4 day. Mason Stanley (2027) earned the win in relief, going four scoreless innings, allowing no hits and two walks, while striking out five.

Harlem defeated Boylan Catholic 6-5. Finn Stovall (2026; Rock Valley JC) picked up the win on the mound, punching out nine over six and two-thirds and he also contributed at the plate hitting a two-run homer in the top of the seventh when Harlem was trailing by one.

Recap

Morton defeated Mt. Zion 7-5. Hudson Lovell (2027) swatted a go-ahead two-run homer in the top of the seventh to lead the Potters to the victory, while Bek Powers (2026) hit a three-run homer earlier in the game.

Rolling Meadows 11

Recap

Rolling Meadows defeated Barrington 11-3 behind a complete game from Tyler Stankiewicz (2026). Luke Schneider (2028; 2H, 2B, 2R), Quinn Hextall (2028; 2H, 3R) and Josh Rappa (2026; 3 RBI) led the Mustangs offense. For the Broncos, Will Steffens (2028) had a big day going 3-for-3 with a HR and two RBI.

St. Francis 11

Recap

St. Francis took down Loyola Academy 11-4. James McGrath (2027) went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI to help lead the offense in the win.

Recap

Washington defeated Glenwood 4-1. Reid Martin (2028) earned the win, tossing five innings of one-run (unearned) ball on three hits, one walk, and six strikeouts.
