Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.
We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. Stevenson took down No. 4 Huntley by the score of 8-6. The Patriots offense was led by Ryan Harris (2026; UIC Commit), who went 2-for-4 with two RBI singles and a run scored. Ryan Martin (2026; Joliet JC Commit) knocked in two runs on his sacrifice bunt and a bases-loaded hit by pitch. Frank Costabile (2026; UIC Commit) and Sam Adelman (2026) each knocked in RBI singles for this contest. Alex Han (2026; MIT Commit) got the win in relief with four innings and five strikeouts. Frank Costabile recorded a six-out save and punched out five batters without allowing a run. For Huntley, their offense was led by Kyle Ziebell (2026; Lake Land JC Commit), who drove in four RBIs on his two-run single and two-run double.

Braden Tolzien (2026; Heartland CC Commit) went 2-for-4 with two singles, including one that knocked in two RBIs. Mathew Hara (2027) hit two doubles, including an RBI double. He also walked and scored three runs in this contest. Kaden Butt (2027) tossed 4.2 innings and struck out five batters, which earned him the win.
No. 10 Lane Tech routed Lake View to a blowout victory 20-0. The Champions offense was led by Matt Young (2026; UW-Whitewater Commit), who went 3-for-5 with a double, two singles, a stolen base, two runs scored, and five RBIs. Zolan Wyatt (2026; UW-Oshkosh Commit) was a key player who hit for the cycle on his perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate, knocking in four RBIs. Jorge Castellon (2026) drove in three RBIs without recording a hit. Luke Kam (2026) drove in two RBIs on his inside-the-park home run and RBI double. Both hits came during the Champions' 11-run fourth inning. Jake Saltarelli (2027) and Donovan Yoest (2026) threw a four-inning combined no-hitter.

Despite the loss, James Sobkowiak (2028) was dominant on the mound, going all seven innings, allowing no earned runs, while striking out 12.
