Rising
+ No. 5 Lockport (11-7): The Porters are rising a couple spots after a 3-1 week, seeing a ranked win over No. 24 Sandburg 6-1 - along with wins over Downers Grove South 6-5 and Alleman 15-0. Their lone loss came to No. 1 St. Laurence 2-1 in a continuation from a game a couple weeks prior.
+ No. 7 Brother Rice (10-7): The Crusaders seem to be rolling now that they are back in Illinois, going a perfect 4-0 on the week, highlighted by a 22-11 win over No. 18 at the time Homewood-Flossmoor. They also took down Aurora Central Catholic 15-0, Marmion 5-3 and Montini 5-0 - rising four spots as a result.
+ No. 10 Lane Tech (11-4): Rising two spots, the Champions are coming off a 2-0 week with wins over Payton College Prep 11-3 and Glenbrook North 8-3. They have a busy week ahead with five games on the schedule, including a matchup with Maine South on Saturday.
+ No. 11 St. Joseph-Ogden (15-1): The Spartans continue to play good baseball, riding a 15-game win streak with a 3-0 record this past week. They took down No. 21 Normal University 7-5, while also beating Pontiac 11-1 and Bloomington Central Catholic 19-5.
+ No. 12 McHenry (12-2-1): The Warriors are rising nine spots as they seem to be back on track after an early season scuffle - going a clean 3-0 on the week. They took down Crystal Lake South 5-0, Cary-Grove 20-6 and Grant 17-5 to cap off a dominant offensive week.
+ No. 14 Mascoutah (14-1): Mascoutah suffered their first loss of the year as they went 3-1 on the week, losing a close game to Breese Central 2-1. They only gave up two runs all week long, so there is a lot to still like with the club - beating Jersey 7-0 and 2-0, along with Althoff Catholic 6-1.
+ No. 18 Lincoln-Way West (11-3): West is rising four spots after a 3-1 week. They took down two ranked clubs in No. 3 Lincoln-Way East 3-1 and No. 18 Homewood-Flossmoor 16-1, along with Oswego 11-4. Their lone loss came to Minooka 4-3.
+ No. 19 Lemont (10-3): Lemont is rising a spot after a 3-1 week, dominating on the offensive side with two big wins over Hillcrest (20-0 & 31-1). They also took down Evergreen Park 11-7 and fell to No. 3 Lincoln-Way East 10-4.
Falling
+ No. 17 O’Fallon (11-7): The Panthers had a tough 0-3 week and are falling double digits as a result. They fell to conference foe and now No. 16 Edwardsville 7-1 and 15-10 - as well as Christian Brothers (MO) 8-2. They have three games on the schedule this week, as they are slated to plate Belleville East twice and Columbia.
+ No. 22 Nazareth (12-4): The Roadrunners split this past week at a 2-2 clip, falling nine spots as a result. They took down Marist 3-2 and Carmel Catholic 10-2, but also fell to each school 4-1 and 6-5, respectively.
+ No. 23 New Trier (8-5): The Trevians are down to No. 23 after a 1-3 week, with their lone win coming against Deerfield 11-7. They fell to Deerfield twice as well (5-2 & 2-1), along with Fremd 9-6.
New to the Power 25
+ No. 16 Edwardsville (9-6): The Tigers are back in the Power 25 after a brief couple weeks out of it, going 2-0 on the week with a couple statement wins over conference rival and No. 6 at the time O’Fallon 7-1 and 15-10. Typically a team that plays their best baseball later in the year, the Tigers will be one to watch closely moving forward.
+ No. 24 St. Rita (11-2): The Mustangs are riding an eight game win streak and perfect 3-0 week, sliding in at No. 24 in this update. They took down De La Salle 5-1, Oak Lawn 15-0 and Marmion 9-0 - boasting an impressive 120-29 run differential.
