Forest Acres Classic 2026: Committed Players Scout Blogs
April 10, 2026
The 21st annual Forest Acres Classic brought high-level baseball back to the Midlands during the week of April 6–9, with Prep Baseball South Carolina on site to cover the action. Hosted once again at AC Flora High School, the tournament featured a strong mix of established programs and emerging talent, creating a competitive early-season environment for teams across the state and a couple talented teams out of state.
The Forest Acres Classic continues to hold value as a proving ground each spring. With strong competition and college-level talent throughout the field, it remains a key stop for evaluating players as the season progresses.
Below is a closer look at committed players who stood out with their performance during the tournament.

Reidar Carlson, 2027, RHP, Lexington HS
College of Charleston commit. Tall and lanky frame at 6-2 175-pounds. Synced up mechanics and a repeatable delivery. Clean arm action with good arm speed. Command of FB at 84-87 (T88) has been inconsistent this season but still shows good life and swing&miss upside. Best pitch this outing was SL at 78-79 coming out of same slot as heater and diving away from RHH. Shows at least avg command of pitch, solid weapon that also generates swing&miss. Flashed a CH at 72 and big CB at 68-69. Nice arsenal that can really keep hitters off balance with some better sequencing and location.

Johnny Compton, 2026, SS, Indian Land HS
Catawba College recruit. Compton produced loud contact during the week, showing his ability to impact the baseball. Strong frame paired with solid bat speed creates carry off the barrel and consistent hard contact. Looks comfortable in the box with intent to drive the ball. Defensively, has shown reliable actions with good arm strength across the diamond. Well-rounded infielder with tools on both sides of the ball.
