April 11: Kapa'a 5, Waimea 3
Kapa'a jumped on Waimea early and held on late for a 5-3 win on Saturday. The Warriors scored three in the 1st, then added single runs in the 5th and 6th to build enough room before Waimea made its push in the 7th.
Kaitin Mundon was the main piece in the win. He worked 6.2 innings, allowed just two hits, and kept Waimea off the board until the final frame while also adding a double at the plate. Pierce Rosario and Tavian Kaleiohi each drove in two for Kapa'a, while Sonny Thomas and Dwyane Padre-Kusaka both had two-hit days. Micah Hussey added a double, a walk, and an SB.
Waimea made it interesting late, with Napali Jardin doing the damage on a two-run double in the 7th. Kolby Correa added a hit and an SB, while Ashtin Kinimaka-Aranio gave Waimea 6.0 innings on the mound to keep it within reach. The late rally got Waimea back in it, but Kapa'a had built enough cushion early to hold on.

April 14: Hilo 9, Kamehameha Hawai'i 8
Hilo answered a big middle push from Kamehameha Hawai'i and walked it off in the 8th to pull out a 9-8 win on Tuesday. Hilo scored three in the 2nd and added on through the middle innings, but Kamehameha Hawai'i flipped the game with a six-run 5th and tied it again in the 7th, turning it into one of the more dramatic games of the season.
Hunter Pangelinan led the Hilo offense with three hits, while RJ Wells and Cole Hatayama each added two. Liam Villanueva gave Hilo a big lift on both sides, scoring twice and later coming on in relief, while Tyson Santiago handled the start before adding an RBI at the plate. Braeden Oda reached four times and drove one in, and Hilo kept enough traffic on the bases to answer every time the game swung.
Kamehameha Hawai'i did most of its damage in the 5th and kept pressure on Hilo late. Iokepa Martines and Brock Ayudan both had two-hit days, Kamau Passi drove in two, and Dayton Hanson added a double and an RBI. April 14: Kailua 3, Moanalua 2
Kailua flipped this one in the 5th and rode the arms the rest of the way in a 3-2 win over Moanalua on Tuesday. Moanalua struck first with two in the opening frame and held that lead into the middle innings, but Kailua stayed with it and finally broke through for three in the 5th. From there, the Surfriders handed it to the bullpen and closed it out.
Ale Kuhaulua was the difference in this one. After Moanalua got to Kailua early, Kuhaulua settled the game down and finished with 5.0 innings, two hits allowed, and 10 punchouts. At the plate, Tayven Carreira delivered the biggest swing with a two-run single in the 5th that gave Kailua the lead. Janson Kamau added a double and reached three times, while Devon Ishigo chipped in a hit and a run scored as Kailua scratched together just enough offense in one inning to swing the game.
Moanalua had the early edge and got a good start from Hashimoto, who drove in both runs in the 1st with a double. Miyamoto and Kodama both added hits in the opening frame, and A Withy Allen also picked up a double, but after the first inning the offense could not find another run. K Miyoshi and K Kameoka both gave Moanalua solid innings on the mound to keep it close, but Kailua’s 5th ended up standing as the separator.

April 14: Waipahu 12, Radford 7
Waipahu outlasted Radford 12-7 in a game that swung hard both ways Tuesday. Radford chipped back with two in the 3rd, three more in the 5th, and another in the 6th to get in front 6-5, but Waipahu answered with the biggest inning of the game in the bottom of the 6th. The Marauders sent the lineup around, stacked six runs, and grabbed control back for good.
Waipahu’s offense had answers most of the day. Mikah Noda and Zanden Agbulos set the table at the top, Maddox Oasay had a big game on both sides, and Zephaniah Tamapua came through with a pair of RBI knocks. Ryan Shima and Jessi Martos each drove in two as well, and once the 6th opened up, Waipahu kept the line moving and made Radford pay for the free traffic.
Radford still got plenty of offense of its own. Brodie Babb was in the middle of it with two hits, two runs scored, and two SB, while Zyon Telles and Maximus Davis each drove in a pair during the comeback stretch. Damian Lujan also chipped in an extra-base hit and two runs scored, but Waipahu’s 6th inning flipped the game back and left Radford chasing the rest of the way.

April 14: Roosevelt 6, Kalani 3
Roosevelt and Kalani played a good one Tuesday, with Roosevelt pulling away late for a 6-3 win. It was a tight game through five, with Kalani still right there before Roosevelt stretched it in the 6th.
Riki Uyeno gave Roosevelt a solid 5.1 innings, scattered six hits, and kept Kalani from stringing much together early. Mackie Doi gave Roosevelt its biggest swing with a two-run shot in the 6th, while Luke Tuasivi and Kyson Murata both had two-hit days and kept traffic on the bases. Jaylen Ikehara also added two hits and an RBI, and Larken Nakasone chipped in with a double and an RBI.
Kalani produced some solid at-bats and kept pressure on Roosevelt into the last inning. Pacey Hatanaka led the way with four hits and an RBI, while Ace Kume reached three times and put pressure on the game with two SB. Xane Soares and Chasen Uyetake each added RBI knocks, and Vaughn Simon gave Kalani a grindy 6.0 innings on the mound to keep it close.

April 15: Mililani 2, Pearl City 1
Mililani pulled out a tight one Tuesday, scoring both runs in the 5th to erase an early Pearl City lead and take a 2-1 win. Pearl City scratched across the first run in the 3rd and had chances to add on, but Mililani stayed within striking distance the whole way.
Hookala was the story. The lefty went the distance, allowed just three hits, and punched out 10 in a complete-game effort. Pearl City put traffic on in the 1st and again late, but Mililani’s starter kept getting big outs and never let the game open up. At the plate, Knox Marzo came through with both RBI in the 5th after Ian Murasaki, Ezra Ugale, and Kameron Pongasi helped get the inning moving.
Pearl City had the early edge behind Jodi Takara, who reached three times, doubled, scored the Chargers’ lone run, and also swiped a bag. David Englar drove him in with a sac fly in the 3rd, while Ian Wicklund reached three times as well. Sophomore Talon Pa’ahao gave Pearl City 5.0 innings on the mound and kept Mililani's tough lineup quiet most of the afternoon, and Imipono Kala added two clean innings in relief, but the two-run 5th was enough to swing it.

April 15: St. Louis 2, Punahou 0
This one started and ended with Jonah Brub. The Crusaders right-hander went the distance in a one-hit shutout, keeping Punahou quiet all afternoon in a 2-0 win Wednesday. It stayed scoreless into the 6th before Crusaders finally broke through on a Chase Kawakami RBI single.
Punahou got a quality start of its own from Cohen Sakamoto, who gave them 5.0 innings and kept it lined up as a low-scoring game the whole way. AJ Wida had the lone hit for Punahou while also throwing a runner out stealing, but it was not quite enough in the pitchers' duel.
STL found the separation they needed in the 6th. Shawn Yamaguchi got things moving on the bases, Kawakami came through with the first RBI knock, then a Punahou error on the next ball allowed the second run to score. Kawakami, Cole “Nalu” Antone, Dane Kaaihue, and Colten Silva all chipped in hits, but this one started and finished with Brub’s complete-game shutout.

Kekoa Tancayo was a big piece in the win. He took over on the mound and gave Maui High 3.2 scoreless innings with three punchouts, and he also drove in two at the plate. Kano Mamuad and Kaniela Belena both had two-hit days, while Kayden Nicholls added two hits and an RBI. Jerome Kalanui chipped in with a knock, an RBI, and an SB.
Kamehameha Maui made Maui High earn it. Kang set the tone offensively with two hits, a run scored, and an SB, while Mathies reached three times and created pressure with two stolen bases. April 16: Pac-5 4, Punahou 3
Pac-5 and Punahou played a tight one Thursday, with Pac-5 coming away with a hard-fought 4-3 win. It was a close battle the whole way between two good clubs. Punahou scratched across runs in the 1st, 2nd, and 5th, but Pac-5 stayed within a run and got the two-run 6th that flipped it.
Both sides got quality work on the mound. University of Hawaii commit Colten Amai Nakagawa went 5.0 innings with eight punchouts, scattered 7 hits, and also drove in a run at the plate. Jaxson Cadiz put pressure on with three stolen bases and reached base three times, while Austen Ahu added a double and an RBI. Alika Ahu added a base hit, a run scored, and took the last 1.2 innings on the bump to finish it.
Punahou had traffic most of the day and did enough offensively to stay in control for stretches. Sophomore Kekoa Payanal led the group with three hits, an RBI, and two SB, while Brennin Lee added two hits, including a double. Micah Bennett was solid again and kept the game manageable on the mound, but Pac-5 got the inning it needed late and held the edge from there.

April 16: Radford 13, Waialua 12
Radford and Waialua got into a track meet Thursday, with Radford coming out on top 13-12. It was a loose game with errors on both sides and some free traffic, but both lineups kept forcing the issue and every inning seemed to have a chance to swing it.
Radford’s lineup had answers all day. Zyon Telles set the tone with three hits, including a pair of doubles, drove in three, scored three times, and recorded the final 1.1 IP on the mound. Maximus Davis matched that with three knocks of his own and three RBI, including the big double in the 5th that flipped the game again. Luke Barner added three hits and two RBI, while Bryson Ecker, Kyle Jacobs, Brodie Babb, and Vivii Tauanuu all had a hand in keeping innings alive.
Waialua did plenty offensively in this one as well. Sky Hirota was the best bat in the game with four hits, two doubles, three RBI, and three runs scored, while Kai Salcido drove in three and Kymani Pascual added two hits and two runs. They blew it back open with the six-run 6th and looked like they had taken control again, but Radford answered in the bottom half and then got the final swing in the 7th. Not the cleanest game of the week, but definitely one of the wildest.
Top Performers

April 17: Baldwin 7, King Kekaulike 5
Baldwin got out front early, then had to regain control after King Kekaulike erased the lead in the 5th in a 7-5 win in extras on Friday. The Bears scored in the 1st, added on in the 4th and 5th, then saw King Kekaulike answer with three in the bottom half of the 5th to tie it. Baldwin grabbed it back with two in the 8th and closed it there.
King Kekaulike’s best stretch came in that 5th. Cove Campas and Jordan Pacheco helped get the inning moving, then Landon Gouveia, Cade Yamada, and Keona Barraza all came through as the lineup turned the game back to even. Barraza also gave them four innings on the mound and kept Baldwin from getting much beyond the early damage.
Baldwin had enough offense throughout to survive the swing back. Marley Sebastian and Josiah Yamada both finished with two hits, Kai Watanabe reached four times and scored three runs, and the top half kept the line moving. Kaden Anderson gave Baldwin five innings with seven punchouts, and Justice Waka finished the final three innings without allowing a run.

April 18: Castle 8, Kalaheo 6
Castle looked like it had this one broken open early after hanging an eight spot in the 3rd, but Kalaheo never let it get away and turned it back into a real game late. The Knights cashed in free traffic and a few mistakes in that inning, with Ayden Slayter delivering one of the bigger swings on a two-run double, but after that Castle did not score again and spent the rest of the afternoon trying to hold off the push.
Kalaheo’s response is what gave this game some shape. They got two back in the 4th, then put together their best stretch in the 5th with three more to cut it to a one-run game. James Grass was right in the middle of that with three hits and two RBI, Fisher Durham kept creating traffic and drove in two, and Andrew Taylor gave them quality at-bats while pressuring the game on the bases. Once Kalaheo got it to 8-6, every inning had some leverage.
Castle still had enough on the mound to get it over the line. Ryder Danz gave them four scoreless to start it, which mattered once the game tightened, and they pieced together the final innings after Kalaheo made its run. Slayter, Nixon Murphy, and Landon Pane’e helped drive the big 3rd, and that inning ended up being the separator. Kalaheo did more than enough after that to make it a game, but Castle’s early damage held.
