Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.
We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. No. 1 St. Laurence routed Carmel 18-3. The Vikings offense was led by Danny Donovan (2026; UW-Parkside Commit), who went 3-for-3 going three quarters of the cycle with a single, triple, and a grand slam that knocked in a total five RBIs. Tristan Steger (2027; Kentucky Commit) also went deep with a two-run home run along with two singles that brought in four RBIs. Cory Les (2026; Louisville Commit) hit a three-run home run along with taking a walk twice. John Strzechowski (2026; Lake Land JC Commit) took it the distance by pitching a four-inning complete game striking out four batters.

No. 2 Normal Community shut out Peoria Notre Dame 13-0. All 13 runs where scored within the first two frames. Andrew Naour (2026) led the Ironmen in RBIs going 1-for-1 with a bases-loaded walk, an RBI single, a run, and two RBIs. Carter Harris (2026; Olivet Nazarene Commit) hit an RBI triple while scoring two runs. Beckett Weber (2026) hit the RBI double while scoring a run. Six other Ironmen played small ball and each knocked in one RBI. Josh Jones (2026; Indiana State Commit) pitched four impressive shutout innings and struck out 10 batters.

No. 4 Brother Rice defeated St. Xavier 10-4. Anthony Cartolano (2027) led the Crusaders offense by going 2-for-3 with two singles, a walk, hit by pitch, run, and four RBIs. Charlie Rosynek (2026) went 3-for-3 with three singles, a walk, two runs, and two RBIs. Gavin Stanislawski (2027) knocked in an RBI single and drew a walk in today's contest. Luca Agne (2027) drew a bases-loaded walk to drive in his RBI of the game. Brayden McKendrick pitched a quality start by tossing six innings and striking out three batters to earn the win.

Prep Baseball Kentucky's No. 1 Trinity shut out No. 5 Mount Carmel 9-0. Christian Clark (2026; Triton JC Commit) and Logan Fernandez (2026; Triton JC Commit) provided the only hits for the Caravan.

Crystal Lake Central took down No. 7 Huntley by the score of 5-3. Konner Altergott paced the offense going 2-for-3 with a triple, double, one RBI and one run scored. Max Geske (2027) and Boedi Newson (2027) each drove in runs while collecting one hit. Logan Laudadio (2027) tossed 1.1 innings in relief, punching out two, and allowing no walks, runs or hits. For Huntley, Tommy Gasner (2028) went 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI single. Gavin Rettberg (2026) also drove in an RBI for Huntley. Sean Dabe (2027) pitched four innings and struck out seven batters in his outing.

No. 8 New Trier shut out Palatine 14-0. Jackie Ryder (2027) led the offense by going 3-for-4 with two singles, a two-run home run, and four RBIs. Keenan Donaldson (2026) also knocked in four RBIs on his three-run home run and RBI single. Chase Estrada (2029) went 2-for-4 with two singles, a run, and two RBIs. Mason Bloom (2026; Trinity Commit, 3-for-4, 2 2B, 2 R), Peter Cusick (2027; 1-for-3, 2B, BB, SB, R), and Jullian Gonzalez each knocked in an RBI. Greg Campitelli (2026; Augustana Commit) pitched four shutout innings and struck out four while only giving up a hit.

No. 11 Lockport took down No. 9 Homewood-Flossmoor for the second time this week by winning 11-1. David Kundrat (2026; St. Xavier Commit) was the big reason why the Porters offense got going. He went 3-for-3 with a grand slam, an RBI single, and a sacrifice fly, which knocked in six RBIs of the contest. Adam Kozak (2026; Lewis Commit) also went deep with a solo home run. Trace Schaaf (2026; Morton JC Commit) tossed a quality start with five innings and striking out four batters.

No. 12 Triad defeated Centralia by the score of 11-7. Carter Gaskill (2026; Illinois Springfield) went 2-for-4 in the game with a triple, double, three RBI and one run scored. Braxton Yates (2026; Lewis & Clark CC) went 2-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored, while Brody Hasquin (2027) added a home run (2-for-3) with three RBI and two runs scored. Grayson Yank (2026) earned the win on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings in relief, striking out one, allowing now runs and two hits.

No. 14 Nazareth Academy lost to IMG Academy Black 8-4. Marco Fiore (2028) drove in three RBIs on his bases-clearing triple for the Roadrunners.

No. 16 St. Joseph-Ogden defeated Pleasant Plains by the score of 8-0. Finn Miller (2027) went 3-for-4 in the game with a double, two RBI and two runs scored. Trevor Ames (2026; Morton JC) added a double with two RBI, while Kodey McKinney (2026) added a hit with two RBI and one run scored. On the mound, Ames tossed five innings, struck out four, walked three, and allowed no hits or runs.

No. 17 Sandburg shut out Bradley-Bourbonnais 10-0. Noah Highfill (2026) and Matthew Durkin pitched a combined no-hitter for the Eagles. Highfill threw 5.1 innings and struck out eight batters while Durkin pitched two-thirds of an inning to finish it off. Giovanni Longo (2026; Roosevelt Commit) went 2-for-4 with two singles, a run, and three RBIs. Lucas Rosas (2026; Benedictine Commit) knocked in two RBIs, including a solo home run. Noah Jaisingh (2026) and Jake Tomczak each knocked in RBI singles.

No. 18 Lemont defeated Montini Catholic by the score of 8-7, thanks to a six-run sixth inning. Luke Marusarz (2027) was strong out of the bullpen, tossing 3.1 innings, striking out three, allowing no walks or runs, while giving up only three hits. Grady Garofalo (1-for-3, RBI, 2 R, BB), Brett Tucker (1-for-4, RBI, R), Zane Schneider (1-for-3, RBI, BB), Ethan Kelby (1-for-1, RBI, R, 2 BB), and Sean Murray (1-for-3, RBI, R) each paced the offense. For Montini Catholic, Santino Mateja (2028) went 2-for-2 with one RBI and one run scored. Blake Heyer (2026; Holy Cross) threw five innings on the mound, struck out seven, walked three, allowed no earned runs and two hits.

No. 19 Lincoln-Way West defeated Stagg by the score of 21-11. The Warriors collected 16 hits in the game while driving in 21, walking seven times, and striking out only once. Jacob Howard (2027) and Michael Pettit (2027; Notre Dame) each homered in the game, with Howard added three RBI, two run scored and a walk, and Pettit finishing the day 2-for-2 with four RBI, four runs scored and a walk. Jackson Mansker (2026; Indianapolis FB) went 4-for-4 on the day with a double, three RBI and three runs scored. Luke Stoner (2028) added a double, three RBI and one run scored, while Max Silic (2027) went 2-for-2 with a triple, three RBI and one run scored.

No. 20 Mascoutah defeated St. Louis Homeschool 10-0. Nolan Lebert (2026; Quincy) earned the win on the mound, tossing four innings with five strikeouts, no walks or runs allowed, only giving up two hits. Nathan Walker (2026; Southwestern Illinois JC) went 2-for-2 with two doubles in the game, collecting one RBI, one run scored and a walk. David Schulte (2026) added two hits, one being a triple, with two runs scored, while Gabe James (2027) went 2-for-3 with one run scored. Quinn Ford (2026) added one hit, three RBI and one run scored.

No. 21 Lane Tech defeated Von Steuben by the score of 15-3. Eric Acevedo (2027) went a perfect 3-for-3 in the game with one RBI and one run scored. Isaiah Martin (2027) went 1-for-1 with a home run, two RBI and one run scored. Nathan Wong (2027) and Tanner Toback (2027) each tallied a double, with Wong driving in two runs and scoring once, and Toback driving in one run and walking twice. On the mound, four arms combined to throw five innings, tallying eight striekouts.

Rochester took down No. 22 Sacred Heart-Griffin by the score of 3-2. Ajay Runkel (2026; Illinois-Springfield) homered in the game, going 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored, while Frank Stefano (2027) went 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI. Reece Gade (2028) added a double with one run scored, and Sean Plessa (2027) tallied a hit. On the mound, Runkel tossed a complete game, tallying five strikeouts, walking one, allowing two runs and eight hits. For SHG, Carson Butler (2026; Heartland CC) went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and one run scored. Will Pennell (2026; Lincoln Land CC) threw 5.1 innings on the mound, struckout 12, walked two, allowed three runs and five hits.

Kaden Wasniewski (2027; LSU) and Nathan Neidhardt (2026) also homered in the game, with Wasniewski going 1-for-1 with two RBI and three runs scored and Neidhardt driving in one run and scoring three times. Bennet Baumann (2026) went a perfect 3-for-3 in the game with one RBI and one run scored, and Landon Clements (2027; Illinois-Chicago) went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk. On the mound, Scotty Cole (2026; McHenry County JC) tossed a complete game (4 IP) with four strikeouts, no walks or runs, and four hits allowed.

Loyola defeated Paul Laurence Dunbar by the score of 5-2. Anthony Reavy (2026; Milwaukee School of Engineering) led the offense going 3-for-4 with two RBI, while Robert Clingan (2026) tallied one hit, one RBI, one run scored and a walk. Beardstown defeated Pittsfield 5-3. Carter Ross led the Tigers in RBIs by hitting a sacrifice fly and an RBI fielder's choice. Caleb Hobrock hit an RBI single while Maddox Medrano grounded into a fielder's choice to drive in his RBI of the game. Trey Riddell pitched a quality start by tossing 5.2 innings and striking out four batters and earning the win. Colby Desollar came in relief and got the four-out save without giving up a run.

Brimfield defeated Ridgewood by the score of 7-5. Kaeden Schatsiek (2026; Illinois State) homered in the game, tallying two RBI and one run scored. Quinton Johns (2027) added a hit with two RBI and a walk, while Layne Johnson (2026; Spoon River JC) added two hits, one RBI and a walk.

Dekalb took down Boylan Catholic 10-6, securing their seventh win on the season. Caden Smith (2027) had who hits and a walk, Gavin Cheney (2027) had two knocks and two RBIs, and Evan Johnson (2026; Black hawk JC) finished 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored.

For the Huskies, John Schrenk (2027) gave a strong start on the mound, allowing just one run over five and two-thirds, allowing three hits and four walks, while punching out five. For Saint Viator, Jacob Oberwise (2026) & Tanner Beyna (2027) each went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the loss.

Jacobs took down Hampshire 13-1 behind an early offensive attack. Jacobs totaled 13 hits from nine separate players. Jace Koth (2027; 4-for-4, 2B, 3 RBI, R, 2 SB), Luke Flaskamp (2027; HR, 3 RBI), and Andrew Deegan (2026; Belmont; HR) powered the Golden Eagles offense. Cooper Gulgren (2026; Wisconsin-Stout) got the win on the mound going all six innings, allowing one hit and one run, while striking out four.

Maine South took down Andrew 4-3 on a walk-off single from Luka Stojakovic (2026; Creighton) in extra innings. Stojakovic had two RBI on the day, Gavin Krischke (2027) added a triple and a run scored to help the Hawks offense. Henry Murphy (2028) got the start on the mound and went four shutout innings, allowing just one hit and striking out six. Charlie Kolz (2027) was dominant in relief, striking out five over two shutout innings, without allowing a hit. Ben Westin (2026) got the start for the T-Bolts and went five innings, allowing two hits and three runs, with one run being earned.

Marmion shutout Westmont 17-0. Brendan Kavanaugh (2027) earned the win on the mound, tossing four innings, allowing just two hits and a walk, while striking out ten. For Westmont, Ricky Yenkin (2027), Max Meza (2029), and Landon Hicks (2027) each had hits in the loss.

Metamora defeated Washington by the score of 6-1 in a Mid-Illini conference matchup. Cole Smith (2026: Carl Sandburg JC) went 2-for-3 in the game with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored. Eli Young (2026) added two hits and two RBI of his own, while Stephen Petri (2026; Carl Sandburg JC) tallied two hits and one run scored. Mason Sauder (2026; Carl Sandburg JC) also collected one hit, one RBI and one run scored. Petri started on the mound for the Redbirds and tossed six innings, tallying five strikeouts and two walks while allowing one run and four hits. For Washington, Sam Peters (2026; College of Lake County) doubled in the game and drove in the Panthers' only run. Camden Vescogni (2027) started on the mound and tossed six innings, tallying nine strikeouts, walking two, allowing one run on six hits.

Normal West defeated Centennial 2-0 in a pitchers duel. Mayson Aslinger (2028) earned the win on the mound going 5.1 innings, allowing four hits and no runs, while striking out eight. Aslinger also added a hit at the plate. Bryson Edwards (2027) got the save for the Wildcats going the final 1.2 innings, allowing zero baserunners, and striking out two. Despite the loss, Parker Dacanay (2028) looked sharp on the mound, going all six innings, allowing five hits, two runs, and zero earned. Dacanay added a hit at the plate as well.

Oak Lawn defeated Bremen 8-6. Hamza Abdelfattah (2027) and Ryan Comiso each drove in two RBIs for the Spartans offense. Abdelfattah hit the two-run triple while Comiso hit the two-run double. Jack Dempsey (2026) knocked in an RBI single and stole two bases. Evan Thacker had a nice relief outing by going three innings and striking out four batters.

Prairie Ridge defeated Cary-Grove 16-0 powered by a 13 run third inning to improve to 7-1 on the season. Cameron Davis (2027; 3-for-3, HR, 5 RBI, 2 R), Gavin Piekos (2026; Milwaukee Area JC; 2-for-3, HR, 4 RBI, 2 R) and Maddon McKim (2026; 1-for-2, HR, RBI, 3 R, HBP). Colt Zaleski (2027) went four shutout innings for the Wolves, allowing two hits and striking out four.

St. Rita defeated Stevenson 9-2. Sully Kazee (2026; Southeastern CC) tossed six innings of two-run (none earned) ball, allowing just four hits and one walk, while striking out nine. Colin Quinn (2026, Heartland CC; 2-for-2, 2 RBI), Ryan Jones (2027; 3-for-4, 2 RBI), and Jayden Ibarra (2027; 1-for-4, 3 RBI) led the offense in the win.

Aiden Saracco (2028) had a big day for Staunton on both sides of the ball; tossing six innings on the mound, allowing four hits, a walk, while striking out seven and at the dish he went 2-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored. Kaiden Linkeman (2028; 2-for-4, 2B, RBI) and Luke Moore (2027; 2-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI) also had good days at the plate for the Bulldogs.

York took down Downers Grove North 10-9. Charlie Morton (2026; Bates) led the Dukes' offense going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Madden Taylor (2027) and Nathan Patterson (2028) each homered for York in the victory as well.
