Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. Lincoln-Way East defeated Andrew for the second day in a row by the final score of 6-1. Casey Mikrut (2027) went 2-for-4 with a double, single, stolen base, and an RBI. Jacob Newman (2026; Lewis Commit) went 2-for-2 with a double, single, walk, and an RBI. Evan Riiff (2027; Valparaiso Commit) went 1-for-4 with a single, sacrifice fly, two stolen bases, and an RBI. Owen Lense (2026; Quincy Commit) pitched four shutout innings and struck out four batters, which earned him the win. AJ Laurencell (2026; North Central Commit) had a nice two-inning relief outing when he struck out two batters and did not allow a run.

St. Xavier took down No. 5 Mount Carmel 11-6. TJ McQuillan (2026; Wake Forest Commit) led the Caravan offense going 2-for-4 with two doubles, a stolen base, a run, and three RBIs. Anthony Chavez (2026; Illinois Commit) hit an RBI single and stole a bag in this contest. Joey Ireland (2026; Illinois Commit) hit a sacrifice fly to knock on his RBI for the Caravan. Ian Tosi had a nice start on the bump by tossing three innings and struck out four batters.

Carson Holmes (2026) drove in an RBI single along with two walks. Matthew Hara (2027) hit a sacrifice fly and Chase Lockwood (2026; Illinois State Commit) took a hit by pitch to force in a run. Brady Buenik (2027; Tennessee Commit) fanned six batters in his 2.2-inning outing.

Nate Larson (2027) started the game and tossed 3.1 innings and struck out three batters. Josh Rudnick (2026; McHenry County JC Commit) came in relief and pitched 3.2 shutout innings and struck out five batters, which earned him the win.

Carson White (2027) threw one inning in relief, striking out two, allowing one hit and no runs or walks. At the plate, Carver Cohn (2028) went 3-for-3 with a double, two RBI and four runs scored. Nathan Neidhard (2026) and Garet Lobbins (2027) each tallied two hits and four RBI in the game, with Lobbins collecting two doubles and one run scored, and Niedhart adding a double with two runs scored.

SS Jory Crocker (2026; Arizona) launched a 3-run home run in the first inning and added a sacrifice fly as Willowbrook (6-4) jumped on Leyden early en route to a 14-2 victory. 3B Jake Bylsma (2026) singled three times and drove in six runs. RHP Mikey Garner (2027) went five innings for the win, allowing two hits and striking out nine.

Wilmington took down Herscher 8-1. Ryan Kettman fired five strong innings with five hits, one run, three walks and five strikeouts. Dierks Geiss added two innings with just one hit, no walks and two strikeouts. Kettman also led the offense going a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Cooper Holman added a grand slam to put the game out of reach in the sixth inning.

Prairie Ridge defeated Cary-Grove 3-0 to open conference play. Owen Satterlee (2027) was dominant on the mound going the distance. Over seven innings, Satterlee allowed no runs on just two hits, while striking out 14. Gavin Piekos (2026; Milwaukee Area JC) led the offense going 2-for-3 with a 2B, RBI, and a run scored. Kaden Norman (2026: McHenry County JC) got the start for the Trojans and went six innings, allowing six hits and three runs, while striking out three.

Juan Avila (2026) earned the win on the mound, tossing three innings of no-hit baseball with five strikeouts; he also went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI at the dish. Martin Jimenez Jr. (2027) also had a big day on both sides of the ball; tossing the final two innings of the game, striking out three and allowing two hits while going 1-for-2 with two RBI with the bat. Parker Zasada (2026 South Suburban JC; 2-for-2, 2 2B, 2 SB, 2 R), Jose Gonzalez (2026, Roosevelt; 1-for-2, 2B, 2 RBI, 2), Jonathan Liesen (2026, Morton JC; 1-for-2, BB, RBI, 2 R), and Anthony Perez (2026; 2-for-3, R) led the Rams' offense in the win.

Valmeyer took down Lebanon 15-0 behind Luke Blackwell, who struck out 10 of the 14 batters he faced to finish off a no-hit shutout.

Jacobs took down Hampshire 4-2 thanks to a complete game from George Donze. Donze (2026; Wisconsin-Stevens Point) went seven innings, allowing six hits and two runs, while striking out 11. Jace Koth (2027; 2-for-3, RBI, BB) and Luke Flaskamp (2027; 2-for-2) led the Golden Eagles offense. Gavin Weston (2028) looked solid in relief for the Whips going three innings, allowing four hits and one run, while striking out three. Weston also added a hit at the plate.

LaSalle-Peru defeated Alleman 5-2. The Cavaliers were led by Jett Hill (2027), Grey Ernat (2027), Ceyton Urbanski, Braylin Bond (2026), Nick Salazar, and John Sowers who all recorded hits in the win.

Oak Lawn took down Richards 13-1. Justin Canvin (2026; Illinois-Chicago) and Jack Dempsey (2026) each had two hits for the Spartans in the win.

Limestone defeated Pontiac 15-2. H Long threw it well over his 3.1 innings, striking out seven. Kyle Kuhn went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs to pace the offense. Evan Daxenbichler added two runs scored and two stolen bases - while Micah Gauerke was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Limestone is now 8-3 on the year and square off with East Peoria later today.

Alden-Hebron defeated Hiawatha 12-2. The Giants offense was led by Ulysses Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, and three RBIs. Jack Stewart drove in two RBIs and scored two runs. Christian Nunez walked three times, including once with the bases loaded to knock in his RBI. Cohl Armbrust went 1-for-3 with a single and a bases-loaded walk to knock in an RBI. Kyle Linneman stole two bases and pitched three innings without allowing a hit and struck out four batters. Caleb Linneman came in relief and pitched two shutout innings and struck out two batters.

DePaul College Prep took down Glenbrook North 7-6 on a walk-off single by Alexi Phillips (2026; Wisconsin-Whitewater). Aydin Abbasi (2027; 2-for-3, R, BB) and Joey Sacchetti (2026; Butler; 2-for-4, R) led the Rams offense. Finn Nash got the win in relief going 3.2 innings, allowing 3 hits and a run, while striking out six. For the Spartans, Harper Williams (2026) got the start and looked sharp, going four innings, allowing three hits and no runs. Williams also had a 3-for-4 day at the plate with an RBI.

Freeburg defeated Columbia 13-8. The Midgets offense was led by Cole Miller, who went 2-for-4 with two singles, a sacrifice fly, a run, and four RBIs. Jonathan Barlow (2027) went 1-for-4 with an RBI double, bases-loaded walk, three runs, and two RBIs. Beau Breyman (2027) went 1-for-3 with a double, two walks, and two RBIs. Dane Johnson (2027) went 2-for-4 with a double, single, walk, run, and two RBIs. Jonathan Barlow struck out five batters in his 3.1-inning outing. Noah Miller (2026) pitched the final two frames and struck out one while not giving up a run.

Lake Zurich routed Waukegan 13-0. Charlie Grund (2027) led the team in RBIs when he came in the game and hit a two-RBI single. He also recorded one of seven stolen bases for the Bears. Nick Audet (2027), Robert Gallo, and Matt Musso (2026) each hit RBI singles for the Bears. Carson Hamblin (2027) was also another key player going 2-for-2 with two doubles, a stolen base, and a run. Rylan Lamp (2026) started the game and pitched two shutout innings and struck out five batters without allowing a hit. Aiden Christian came in relief and threw four shutout innings and struck out six batters while giving up just a hit and walk.

Maine South defeated Harvest-Westminster 9-3. Nate Cera and Jordan Rosa (2027) each led the Hawks offense by going 2-for-2 with two singles, a sacrifice fly, two runs, and an RBI respectively. Arjun Sreenivasan (2026) recorded a stolen base, sacrifice fly, and a single. Nikko Baranchik (2027) hit a pinch-hit RBI single and scored a run. Alex Aridas (2027) got the win and pitched four innings punching out two batters. Nick Massucci pitched three shutout innings in relief and struck out two batters while only giving up a hit.

Tremont defeated Midwest Central 15-4. Jake Williams (2028) led the offense by going 1-for-3 with a double, hit by pitch, a walk, and three RBIs. Josh Papenhause (2026) went 3-for-4 with two doubles, and single, hit by pitch, stolen base, four runs, and two RBIs. Griffin Meeker (2026; Heartland CC Commit) went 1-for-4 with a single, walk, stolen base, run, and two RBIs. Chase Rhodes (2026; John A. Logan JC Commit) led the team in stolen bases by swiping three bags out of the team's nine while recording two RBIs. Hunter Smith (2026; Monmouth Commit) opened the game and struck out three batters in the opening frame. Pierce Patterson (2027) came in relief and threw two hitless innings and struck out two batters. Levi Hendrickson (2027) pitched three innings and struck out six batters to finish the ballgame.

Lincoln-Way Central came out on top of a 2-1 pitchers duel against Hinsdale Central. Owen Novak (2026; Illinois-Wesleyan) got the start for the Knights and went 5.2 strong innings, allowing one run and striking out seven. Nolan Bartkus (2026) earned the win in relief, going the final four outs without allowing a run. Luke Tingley (2026) led the Knights offense with a 3-for-4 day, including two doubles. Danny Houston (2027) added a triple and a run scored. The Red Devils got solid pitching from Owen Sunderson (2027; 3 IP, 3 H, R, 4 K), Adam Zak (2026; 1.2 IP, H, 0 R), and Billy Main (2026; Dartmouth; 2.1 IP, 3 H, R, 0 ER, 5 K). Patrick Doppke (2026; Grinnell College) led the offense with two doubles.

Teutopolis defeated Richland County 12-2 to move to 8-1 on the season. The Wooden Shoes got a hit and a run scored from eight different starters in the contest, led by Jason Kreke (2026; Kaskakia JC; 2-for-3, HR, 2B, 3 RBI, R). Caleb Deters (2027) and Nolan Schumacher (2027) each added a double. Austin Borries (2026; Lindenwood) went the first 3.1 innings, allowing six hits, two runs, one earned, while striking out two. Deters was perfect getting the last 5 outs, while striking out two.

Normal West defeated Metamora 9-1. Mayson Aslinger (2028; 3-for-4, HR, 3B, 2 RBI, 2 R), Sam McCully (2027; 3-for-4, 2B, 3 RBI), and Ty Bachman (2028; 2-for-4, 2B, 2 R) led a hot Wildcats offense. Jasper Pomis (2028) got the start and the victory on the mound going 5.1 innings, allowing three hits and one run, while striking out eight.

Minooka took down Plainfield Central 10-3 to move to 8-1 on the season. Joey Rutz (2027; 2-for-3, 3 RBI, R), Landon Currie (2027; 2-for-4, 2 RBI, R), Evan Jenks (2027; 2-for-2, 2 R), and Gavin McReynolds (2026; Wisconsin-Stout; 2-for-2, RBI) all collected multiple hits. Zane Caves (2026; Michigan State) got the start and the win on the mound going three innings, allowing only two hits and one run.

Crystal Lake South held on to defeat Central 5-4. Matt Bychowsky (2026) controlled the game going six strong innings, allowing two hits and two runs, while striking out four. Nolan Dabrowski (2026 Wisconsin-River Falls; 1-for-2, 2B, 2 RBI, R, BB) and Coleton Bondi (2027; 2-for-2, RBI, BB) led the Gators offense. The Rockets got a HR from Daniel Koertgen (2027) and a solid start from Sam Maglares (2026; 3.2 IP, 3 H, R, 2 K).
