The Prep Baseball California High School Pitcher of the Week highlights the best individual pitching performance for a California high school player from the previous week. Each week, high school coaches are emailed and asked to send in their nominees for Pitcher and Player of the Week.  If you wish to nominate someone for Player or Pitcher of the Week, please be sure to fill out this form before noon on Mondays. 

While there can only be one pitcher and player of the week, our Diamond Notes, which are released every Wednesday, are intended to shine a spotlight on other noteworthy performances from the previous week.

WEEK 7 PITCHER OF THE WEEK

2027 INF/RHP Mason Hackler, Turlock High School

In a key three-game stretch against league rival Downey, Turlock High School turned to Hackler in Game 2, and the right-hander delivered a dominant performance, cruising through his outing with near perfection.

The NorCal Future Games standout went the distance, tossing a complete-game shutout with just one hit allowed, no walks, and 10 strikeouts on only 73 pitches. The lone hit was the only baserunner he surrendered all game.

The outing adds to an already impressive spring on the mound, where Hackler now sits at 3-0 with a 2.08 ERA over 33.2 innings. He’s recorded 41 strikeouts to just eight walks, helping lead Turlock to a 10-4 overall record and a perfect 6-0 mark in league play.

Congratulations to two-way standout Mason Hackler on earning the Prep Baseball California Pitcher of the Week.
