Stix Scout Weekend: Quick Hits

Over the weekend of May 28th, the PB Texas staff traveled to Southlake Carroll High School in Southlake, TX, to host the 2026 Stix Scout Weekend, an event exclusively for members of the Stix program.

More than 150 players made their way to Southlake Carroll HS this past weekend and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.

We have already released a Statistical Analysis from the event, highlighting the top statistical performers. Today, we will provide our scouting takeaways on some of the prospects who stood out throughout the event.

2027 Scout

Ryan Donahoe | LHS | Highland Park | 6’5 220 | Virginia
LHS with great build/frame to add strength. Up to 93 this outing, ability to pitch with FB both up and down in zone. FB gets swing and miss in zone. CB has depth with 2400+ avg spin. Change is quality. High follow for 2027

Kenson Buth | 2B/RHP | Byron Nelson | 5’10 170 | Baylor
Middle infielder who continues to develop. Aggressive swinger with pull side raw. Solid actions on the infield. Plus runner, 6.68 60. Love the way he plays the game. Player who comes up big at the right time.

For fun, jumps on the mound showing FB up to 90, carry present. Can spin baseball with avg action, occasional plus getting swing and miss. Avg spin rate of 2900. Baseball player you want on your team.

Love the makeup, will get looks from scouts in 27 as a hitter.

Blaze Grider | RHP | Decatur | 6’2 185
Great build/frame to add strength. Arm works, FB touched 88, will add velo. Short breaking slider that was around zone. Look for velo to develop. Athleticism present, 6.84 60.

Jax Lane | RHP | Lubbock Cooper | R/R | 5’10 170
Quick arm, FB up to 89, showed avg CB action with spin up to 2700 with ability to get swing and miss. Repeated delivery.

Bentley Seeberger | RHR/C | Lubbock Cooper | R/R | 6’2 200
Great physical build with strength present. Solid receiver, raw arm strength present with carry to throws to 2nd. In workouts shows solid pop times. Did not get in game throw ton 2nd. Hard contact off barrel in BP, hit approach is developing.

RHR with arm speed, effort present. FB touched 90, have seen up to 91. Slider 79-81 flashing avg action.

John Rainwater | RHP | Hebron | R/R | 6’5 180
Lean/lanky build. Arm quickness present. FB touched 89, did see up to 92 in spring relief appearance. CB 72-73 developing feel for pitch. Velocity will continue to develop.

Cole Flashnick | MIF | Highland Park | L/R | 6’0 180 | Arkansas
Physically has added strength, will continue to add more in future. Showing actions on defense. 6.87 60 this event. Aggressive hitter with developing power. When he gets on plane shows hard line drive contact, can leave to pull side. Player who will need to be seen in spring of 27 by scouts.

Cooper Newby | C | Southlake Carroll | L/R | 6’1 190
Switch hitting catcher with build/frame to add strength. Receives well behind the plate. Raw arm strength with carry when he stays behind baseball. 7.0 60, moves well. Solid hit approach showing ability to impact baseball is coming as strength improves. Will continue to develop.

Craig Russell | SS | Navajo (OK) | R/R | 5’8 155
Frame/build to add strength. 6.95 60. Actions on defense present showing body control and agility. Makes plays on the move, makes it look easy at SS. Best defensive player in Stix Org. Carry to throws. Hit over power at plate, solid approach. Coaches son, knows how to play.

Alexis Torres | OF | Colleyville Heritage | S/R | 5’10 155
Frame/build to add strength. 6.75 runner. Moves well defensively. Shows raw arm strength with carry to throws, accuracy will develop. Hit over power with approach developing.

Did not pitch this weekend. Have seen in past, pitch ability with stuff present. Strike thrower with command. Have seen up to 93 along with feel for secondary. 2 way player who will get looks from scouts.

Shaw Jenkins | SS/2B | Lake Highlands | R/R | 6’1 180 | Loyola Marymount
Frame/build to add increased strength. Athleticism, 7.15 60, will be at least avg runner. Actions present on the infield. Bat speed present, shows ability to cover inner ½ of plate with hard contact. Tools to develop.

2027 Premier

Cooper Voigt | LHP | Bastrop | L/L | 6’3 170
LHS arm works well, repeats delivery. FB up to 87, more to develop. CB 71-74, flashes feel. Player to watch develop on the mound. Chance to be starter.

Anthony DeSanto | C | Alvin Homeschool | L/R | 5’10 175
LHH catcher, received well in games. Accurate throws with 2.08 time to 2nd in game. Solid contact off barrel. LHH catcher with avg raw arm strength. Watch progress.

Jade LaCour-Loyd | MIF | Mansfield Lake Ridge | R/R | 5’11 160
Will add strength. Actions present on the infield, arm works, look for raw arm strength to firm. Plus runner, 4.4 on turn, moves well. Line drive contact with pull approach. Will develop, player to watch.

2027 Prospects

Jackson Hill | RHP | Grapevine | R/R | 6’4 200
Great build/frame to add strength. Arm works with arm speed present. FB up to 87, velocity will firm. FB shows carry up in zone. CB 70-73 shows finish with ability to spin baseball. 2600 avg spin. Pitcher to watch develop. Brother, Dasan added velocity between his Jr and Sr year.

Brody Burks | OF | Kaufman | R/R | 6’0” 180
Will add strength. Hard contact off barrel, shows pull power. Plus runner with 6.84 60. Shows range in OF. Watch development.

Walker Pressley | OF | Mansfield | R/R | 6’0” 175
Solid build, will continue to add strength. Shows ability to leave yard to pull side. Hard contact in games. 7.17 60, moves well. Corner OF’r.

Carson Rigney | OF | Colleyville Heritage | R/R | 5’10” 178
Frame/build to add increased strength. Solid hit approach with ability barrel baseball. Pull side power developing. Corner OF’r.

2027 South Premier

Landon Jordan | RHP | Rio Vista | 6’1” 190
Great build. Arm works. FB velocity will make jump. Shows feel for CB with ability to show spin. 70-75, up to 2500 spin rate. Upside to stuff.

Devin Luna | RHP/SS | Arl Martin | 5’9” 145
6.92 60. Actions on defense, throws with carry across. Hit over power, ability to get to gaps for extra base hits. Player who will develop as strength increases.

Sterling Wilson | RHP | Clyde | 6’1” 215
Frame/build projects well for added strength. Arm works showing arm speed. FB touched 88 with more velo to come from OH slot, downhill plane. CB 74-75, change 76-77 with fade action.

Cannon Crump | 1B | Burleson Centennial | L/R | 6’1” 190
Will add strength. Barrel finds baseball for solid contact. Quality AB’s. Will be steady defender around the bag at 1st. LHH 1B with developing ability to impact ball.

Jaxon McNaughton | MIF | Granbury | R/R | 6’0” 155
Will add strength. Shows ability to handle bat with LD contact, solid swing. Actions developing in the middle of the field. Added strength will help with impact. Watch development.

2028 Scout

Barrett Elston | LHP/1B | Denton Guyer | L/L | 6’0” 184
Frame/build to add strength. Athletic, tick above avg runner with 6.87 60 now. Arm works with FB touching 85. Slider shows finish. Looking for stuff to firm in future as strength increases.

Cash Bird | OF/RHP | Denton Guyer | R/R | 5’10” 165
Frame/build to add strength. 6.92 60, will be plus runner in future with ability to play CF. Hit over power with solid swing. Watch development.

Riggs Huggins | INF | Prestonwood Christian | L/R | 6’2” 205
Solid build/frame for strength. Corner infielder, actions developing. Shows ability to impact baseball, solid swing. Projects to have power.

James Siegler | 3B Highland Park | R/R | 6’2” 189
Frame/build to add strength with solid build now. Corner infielder showing actions. Raw arm strength will develop. Solid hit approach with ability to barrel baseball, shows pull side power. Player to watch develop, will have power.

2028 Premier

Maddox Stone | INF/RHP/OF | Keller | R/R | 5’10” 160
Frame and build for added physical strength. 7.07 60, will continue to firm run time. Versatility on defense, actions developing on the infield. Carry to throws present. Solid hit approach and swing, hard contact off barrel in game. Player to watch develop.

Pierce Stovall | RHP | Grapevine | 6’4” 210
Great build/frame for added strength. Arm works, strike thrower with feel for secondary. Watch development.

Mick Sandefur | SS/RHP | Aledo | R/R | 5’9” 164
Frame/build to continue to add strength. 7.12 60, moves well. Actions on the infield, carry to throws present. Shows ability to impact baseball with pull side power.

RHP shows arm speed present with solid arm action and delivery.Slider shows avg action at times. Competes both in the box and on the mound. Watch development.

Alijah Carter | SS/OF | Texas Online | R/R | 5’11” 180
Frame and build to add increased strength. Plus runner, 6.61 60, 4.4 on turn, quickness present. Actions on defense present, shows carry to throws. Bat speed present with hit approach developing. Tools to develop.

2028 Prospects

LJ Lee (James) | 1B | Liberty Christian | L/L | 6’0” 200
Can swing the bat, showed ability to impact baseball. Hit baseball hard in both games. Power will develop. See position change in future to 1B, took balls in OF, fine out there, better suited for 1B long term.

2029 Scout

Lennon Dunn | RHP | Mansfield | 6’2” 170 | R/R
Great build/frame to add strength. 7.25 60. Arm works with solid delivery. FB works 83-85, touched 86, downhill. Will see velocity increase. Developing secondary. Watch progress on the mound.

Holt Grider | RHP | Decatur | 6’2” 172 | R/R
Great build/frame to add strength. Arm works, arm speed will develop. FB touched 85, look for velo to increase. Shows ability to spin baseball with solid finish. One to watch on the mound.

Jaxon Harris | RHP/SS | Abilene | 6’0” 185 | R/R
Solid build/frame. Shows ability to impact baseball, will develop power. Actions on the infield, makes plays on the infield. Carry to throws present. Definite one to watch as infielder.

RHP arm works with FB touching 85. Slider shows finish.

Knows how to play the game.

Solid hit approach with EZ swing showing ability to impact baseball. Definite player to watch develop. Does it easy, actions, impact at plate. Dad’s baseball coach, knows how to play.

Will add strength. Shows ability to impact baseball, will continue to improve impact as he adds strength. Developing defensively both behind the plate and as corner infielder.

Will add strength. 7.16 60. Will be steady defender in OF. Showing ability to impact baseball, will continue to develop impact as he adds strength. Watch progress.
