MISSISSIPPI - Every spring, the race for Prep Baseball Mississippi Player of the Year features no shortage of deserving candidates. The 2026 season was no different, as standout performances emerged from every corner of the state and across every classification. From dominant arms to prolific offensive producers, numerous players built strong cases throughout the spring. In the end, however, one player consistently separated himself from the pack with his impact on both sides of the ball while helping lead one of Mississippi's premier programs back to championship weekend.

For his outstanding senior campaign and instrumental role in leading Magnolia Heights to their 8th consecutive MAIS State Titel, Cole Prosek has been named the 2026 Prep Baseball Mississippi Player of the Year.

Ranked No. 2 in Mississippi's 2026 class, Prosek assembled one of the state's most impressive all-around campaigns this spring, solidifying himself as one of the premier prospects in the Southeast. The Ole Miss signee was a difference-maker in every phase of the game for the Chiefs this spring, excelling as a two-way talent, consistently impacting outcomes with both his offensive production and dominance on the mound throughout the season.

Cole Prosek capped off an outstanding senior season by serving as the driving force behind another championship run at Magnolia Heights. The Ole Miss signee was one of the most productive hitters in the state this spring, posting a remarkable .585 batting average while collecting 76 hits, scoring 62 runs, and driving in 79 RBIs. Prosek consistently impacted games with extra-base power, tallying 19 doubles, two triples, and 18 home runs throughout the season. He also contributed significantly on the mound, finishing with a 7-1 record across 57.2 innings pitched while posting a 3.16 ERA. The right-hander recorded 67 strikeouts against just 15 walks, held opposing hitters to a .280 batting average, and finished with a 1.405 WHIP. His production on both sides of the ball was instrumental in helping Magnolia Heights capture its eighth consecutive MAIS State Championship and finish the spring with an impressive 36-4 record.
