As the year unfolds, players make improvements and new prospects pop up on the radar expanding the PBR rankings universe. New #1

At 6-foot-2 with premier projection and double-plus potential at short, it’s been easy to be the path to #1 for the Georgia Tech commit and former Future Gamer. Well-connected left handed cut has shown advanced bat-to-ball over the years but as the strength is developing in the frame as is the power and showed in a big way throughout the spring. Butler has been able to carry balls to all-fields in the midst of his career year and there’s even more to tap into as the frame isn’t anywhere near maxing out. Hard not to be bullish in the overall hit/power combo going forward. The defensive profile for Butler has been widely known for some time and it’s everything you’d want in a prep shortstop. Range to all directions with advanced footwork and ability to bend at the waist that’s only strengthened by butter smooth hands. Arm strength plays from multiple angles with accuracy showing always. We’re just now seeing the beginnings of what the overall profile can be for Butler and easy to see why the shortstop jumped into the Top 10 nationally.

Spring Standouts and Risers

Evan Brand, SS/RHP, Kell (15th to 7th)
We have been bullish on the profile for Brand for quite some time, so it’s only right to see the Georgia Tech commit jump into the Top 10 for the first time ever. The hit tool has a chance to be the best in the class with advanced zone coverage from both sides of the plate with barrel feel that shines in the all-fields approach. After hitting .450+ in the regular season, the SS went on an absolute tear in Kell’s impressive State Championship run with 23 hits to striking out just one time. Brand has shown a track-record of doing it with wood as well and will be a highly sought after name to watch from the pro side this upcoming summer. The glove for Brand is an asset across the diamond with long-term potential in the dirt and arm strength can even allow for the ability to stick on the left-side. This is the one of the highest-floors in the class and

Luke Winbush, SS, Pope (24th to 8th)
Winbush holds the type of profile that epitomizes the Pope program with an immense defensive profile that plays across the diamond and gritty, gamer profile that makes any roster better. The Troy commit and former Future Gamer emerged as a future plus glove at SS this spring, earning comparisons to current Georgia Tech SS and former Greyhound, Carson Kerse while making highlight plays on a nightly basis that only cement his long-term potential at the position. Swing path creates great length in-zone with barrel feel to drive the gaps to ease and an aptitude to come through in the clutch in multiple situations. Power can show to the pull-side without selling out and will only continue to grow as the physical maturity can take an even bigger jump in the next year. “Winny” is one of those players you can’t help but love and when you look at the profile, it’s easy to see why he’s earned a jump into the Top 10.

Carson Bruce, OF, North Cobb Christian (19th to 9th)
It was an all-time spring for the recent Georgia commit with double-digit HR and over 60 RBI, and helped propel the outfielder into the Top 10. The swing path from the left-side has cleaned up a ton from the Future Games last summer and now shows immense barrel length in-zone that allows Bruce to create loft to all-fields backed by the ability to generate big-time strength from the ground up. Glove plays in either corner outfield spot with an above-average to plus arm that will show accuracy to all bases often. There’s a chance for Bruce to take an even bigger jump this upcoming summer and will be bringing the scouts out in the masses for the outfielder.

Carter Allen, RHP/OF, Bremen (22nd to 11th)

Andres Jimenez, RHP, Parkview (26th to 13th)

Davis Moncus, OF, Troup County (119th to 19th)
Say it with me now, hitters hit. The junior OF has been on an upward trajectory for over a year now and showed up huge in the double-header with a 5-for-7 night that also added a pair of clutch RBI 2B. Advanced feel for the barrel shines often in a compact, flat path through the zone that keeps the barrel on-plane forever. Ability to use the whole field is present and consistently will spoil good pitches both in and out of the zone. Bullish on the overall hit tool long-term for the uncommitted outfielder. Speed plays up both in the grass on the bases with he showed a 3.97 infield 1B as well as long-term potential to stick in CF. Moncus will be one of the most sought after juniors in the state these next couple months and looking to add another state championship in the meantime. -Ian Smith, May 3rd.

Maddox McCollum, RHP/3B, Wesleyan (76th to 26th)

Chase Mosley, SS/RHP, Troup County (126th to 44th)
The two-way profile was on full display for Mosley across the entirety of the Spring season and ultimately earned a commitment to Georgia Southern. Staff had multiple looks on both sides of the ball and the athleticism and strength in the lean 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame is clear to see with much more to project. Well-connected RH cut with quiet actions and utilizes a balanced load with minimal wasted effort throughout. Works from an extremely compact path with strength in the hands and above-average barrel feel in a quick trigger as he is seemingly always on-time. Hit/power combo was a force to be reckoned with as he led a potent Tigers offense with 6-home runs across the campaign. On the mound, Mosley put together a stellar campaign as he finished with an 11-0 record across both the regular season and playoffs. Pitchability always stands out with quiet confidence and innate feel for the 3-pitch mix. Moves really well down the mound with real arm speed showing from a higher three-quarters slot and repeatability in the delivery. Fastball lived in the upper 80’s and topped (T93 MPH) with life through the zone for swing-and-miss.Advanced feel for a changeup at 77-82 at tumble out of the same tunnel for whiffs to both LHH and RHH. Slider shows tight break at 75-79 with feel to spin and rounds out the arsenal. It’s a polished profile that is only going to continue to trend up and lands himself inside the top 50 after a banner spring.

Colton Burtch, RHP, Union Grove (69th to 49th)

Grant Bradley, CIF, Holy Innocents (72nd to 45th)

Omari Burse, SS/2B, Benedictine (105th to 55th)

Skyler Lee, C, North Paulding (87th to 56th)

Kai Hernandez-Gambill, LHP/1B, Benedictine (172nd to 74th)

Jon Walker Brown, 1B, Lassiter (153rd to 81st)

Chance Williams, RHP, North Paulding (129th to 64th)

Coe Puckett, C, Fellowship Christian (199th to 79th)

William Resutek, IF/RHP, Oconee County (209th to 94th)

Cooper Reynolds, OF, Cartersville (263rd to 86th)

Rylin Lyemance, 3B, Walton (139th to 88th)

Andrew Snow, OF/LHP, Mary Persons (287th to 92nd)
I was able to see Snow earlier in the spring and the competitiveness stood out from the jump. So a huge rise in rankings across 195 spots is no surprise. Holds present two-way tools in the athletic 5-foot-10, 175-pound frame and game intangibles litter the profile. Stays coiled well and utilizes a slight toe-tap load to stay balanced through the zone. Works to all-fields extremely well to all-fields as he creates excellent length in-zone with innate accuracy in the barrel to match. Strong defender in centerfield that can go get it backed by fantastic range and instincts. Present foot speed and good routes to the ball allow for excellent tracking to both gaps. High-level competitor on the mound and completes in-the-zone. Hides the ball well and repeatability in the delivery with feel for all 3. Fastball lives in the low 80’s with command throughout the zone. Changeup shows a future advanced offering with ability to tunnel at 75-77 with tumble and fade. Slider rounds out the arsenal at 70-73 with depth and shape varies. It’s a well-rounded profile with athleticism that will carry and potential to continue to climb in the rankings.

Everett Grubbs, RHP, Pickens (255th to 111th)
“These are the types of moments you live for”, is something that I kept saying over and over again while watching Grubbs on the diamond this spring.Whether that be shutting down a strong offense to clinch a region title or pitching the game of his life in a game 3 in the state championship, Grubbs delivered for the Dragons and then some in ‘26. The junior made an instant impact right away for Coach Williams in multiple facets across the spring as he pitched to a 9-0 record and held a sub-1 ERA on the mound. The right-hander is extremely competitive on the mound while boasting a bulldog demeanor and works fast as he controls the pace. Athletic 5-foot-11, 153-pounds with present two-way tools and projection that is still growing. Creates tons of deception from a low slot and cross-body delivery with whippy arm speed and ability to repeat well.Fastball shows arm-side run and command through the zone at 86-88 (T89 MPH). Sinker plays well off it with heavy horizontal movement at 84-87 and generates tons of ground balls. Slider has a chance to be a future advanced offering with feel to manipulate and shows frisbee-like movement and sweep at 75-78. Flips over a curveball with depth at times to freeze batters in the low 70’s as well. Changeup is quickly developing and could push the overall pitch mix over the top. Shown at 79-81 with late-tumble for whiffs to LHH. Athlete on the mound and fields his position tremendously with excellent instincts and arm strength. Showed well at the plate as well across the spring. Creates separation in the box and keeps his hands back while consistently getting the barrel on-plane. Strong pitch recognition stands out with ability to adjust in-zone and bat-to-ball skills present as he rarely strikes out. Impressive defender when not on the mound at the hot corner with quickness laterally as well as forward and backward. Shows soft hands with flexibility and high-floor profile on the left-side of the dirt. Grubbs holds D1 upside with plenty more velo to project and a huge summer appears to be on the horizon.

Tyler Rogers, SS, Hebron Christian (225nd to 122nd)

Jennings Allen, SS, Pickens (172nd to 124th)
Simply put the uncommitted junior put together a breakout season and was one of the biggest winners of the spring amongst staff. Allen was a key piece to the lineup as he paced the offense out of the 2-hole to ultimately help the Dragons win a championship. Wiry 5-foot-10, 170-pounds with tons of twitch and athleticism with strength to project upon. Gets into his lower half well as he works from the ground-up in a well-connected LH cut. Bat-to-ball has always stood out but accuracy and impact in the barrel continues to grow. Shows a fluid stroke with fast hands while staying compact through the zone to keep the barrel on-plane consistently. Glove profiles in the dirt up-the-middle backed by fluid footwork with excellent lateral range and flexibility to make plays to either side. A high-motor ball player that never ceases to bring the energy along with being one of the biggest leaders on the club. Allen returns to the Dragons next season a part of a stout rising senior class and will look to build upon the breakout campaign in ‘27. Sees a huge jump in the rankings as he finds himself inside the top 125 with the potential to draw interest from multiple recruiting levels.

Rocco Baxter, LHP, Calhoun (313th to 133rd)
It was a highly impressive spring campaign for the uncommitted junior. Carried the SP1 role and did a fantastic job throughout the course of the year. Held a 1.35 ERA with 88 k’s across 67.0 IP. Feel to pitch stood out amongst staff with plenty more to project in the lean, high-waisted 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame. The southpaw operates from a deceptive low slot and attacks in-the-zone with feel for the entire 3-pitch mix. Fastball was shown at 83-86 (T87 MPH) with some cut through the zone and misses barrels. Changeup disappears with late-depth out of the same tunnel at 72-74. Mixes in a slider that was spun over in the low 70’s as well. A big summer appears in store and Baxter will look to return to ace-caliber production next spring as the Yellow Jackets aim for a State Championship.
