WIAA Diamond Notes: Week 5

Each week, WIAA coaches around the state submit to us their nominations for the Prep Baseball Wisconsin Player of the Week and Prep Baseball Wisconsin Pitcher of the Week honors. Yesterday, we awarded the Week 5 Player of the Week to SS Grady Chvosta (Slinger, 2026; MSOE), Chvosta finished the week 10-for-16, with one home run, four doubles, nine RBIs, four runs, and four walks.. The Pitcher of the Week is RHP Luke Parkinson (Whitnall, 2026; Bradley), the right-hander tossed five innings, allowing zero hits, zero runs, and one walk while striking out eight.
There were a number of other impressive performances that were in the mix for the award and deserve recognition. Here’s a look at some of the most notable.
Week 5 Diamond Notes
+ Cal Nottestad, RHP (Cambridge, 2026):
Nottestad made two starts against Marshall and Johnson Creek, pitching 13 total innings. He allowed six hits and four walks while striking out 13 batters. Across those 13 innings, he allowed only one run.
+ Gage Honeyager, LHP (Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, 2025):
Honeyager made one start against Wausau West, pitching 6.2 innings. He allowed two hits and three walks while striking out 12 batters. He allowed only one run during the outing.
+ Ethan Rudolph, 3B/RHP (St. Thomas More, 2027):
Rudolph pitched a seven-inning complete game shutout against Greendale, allowing no runs on four hits and two walks while striking out 10. At the plate, he went 5-for-8 with two walks, two doubles, and one triple. He also drove in five runs and recorded three stolen bases.
+ Cole Pettijohn , RHP (East Troy, 2028):
Pettijohn made one start against Evansville, pitching 6.2 innings. He allowed no runs on three hits and one walk while striking out 10 batters.
+ Jackson Oppermann, P (Lakeside Lutheran, 2026):
Oppermann threw 11 scoreless innings across two appearances against Columbus and Greendale, allowing no runs. He gave up eight hits and three walks while striking out 10 batters.
+ Noah Kohn, CF/P/INF (Hustisford/Dodgeland, 2028):
Kohn made four appearances against Central Wisconsin Christian, pitching seven innings and allowing one run. He gave up six hits and four walks while striking out seven batters. At the plate, he went 2-for-6 with three walks, one double, three RBIs, and three stolen bases.
+ Zach Dennis , RHP (Badger, 2028):
Dennis pitched a seven-inning complete game against Brookfield East, allowing only one run. He allowed three hits and two walks while striking out six batters.
+ Clayton Keleher, 3B (Southwestern , 2028):
Keleher went 5-for-10 at the plate with one walk, four RBIs, and three stolen bases. On the mound against Darlington, he pitched six innings and allowed no runs on two hits and three walks while striking out five.
+ Landon Schwarz, 1B/P (Milton, 2027):
Schwarz went 6-for-10 at the plate with three walks, one double, and six RBIs, including a walk-off sacrifice fly against Mukwanago. On the mound against Baraboo, he pitched six innings and allowed two runs. He gave up six hits and five walks while striking out three batters.
+ Dax Solverson, C (Southwestern, 2028):
Solverson went 2-for-7 at the plate with three walks, one home run, three RBIs, and two stolen bases. On the mound against Mineral Point, he pitched six innings and allowed one run. He allowed four hits and zero walks while striking out two.
+ Noah Faccio, 1B (Little Chute, 2026):
Faccio went 9-for-15 at the plate with one walk, four doubles, and two home runs. He drove in nine runs and recorded one stolen base.
+ Gerrit Wittman, C (Little Chute, 2027):
Wittman went 9-for-14 at the plate with four walks, two doubles, one triple, and one home run. He finished with eight RBIs.
+ Tyler Vogt, C (Middleton, 2026):
Vogt went 6-for-11 at the plate with one walk and was hit by two pitches. He recorded two doubles, one triple, six RBIs, and three stolen bases.
+ Nolan Julseth, SS (New Glarus, 2027):
Julseth had a perfect week at the plate, going 9-for-9 with three walks. He recorded one double, one triple, and one home run while driving in 11 runs and stealing four bases.
+ Billy Gibson, Catcher (Lakeside Lutheran, 2027):
Gibson went 6-for-11 at the plate with one walk and one double. He hit two three-run home runs in conference wins against Columbus, finishing the week with seven RBIs.
+ Brayden Zimmerman, RHP/1B/DH (Slinger, 2026):
Zimmerman went 6-for-17 at the plate with two walks, one double, one triple, and one home run. He hit a three-run home run against Arrowhead that shifted momentum for a comeback win and finished with three RBIs and one stolen base.
+ Ian Kawczynski, SS (Catholic Memorial, 2026):
Kawczynski went 5-for-11 at the plate with two walks, one double, one triple, and two stolen bases.
+ Matthew O'Grady , CF (Badger, 2026):
O'Grady went 6-for-13 at the plate and hit two home runs while driving in four runs.
+ Tysen Teal, SS/RHP (Northwestern, 2027):
Teal went 11-for-15 at the plate with two walks, one triple, three RBIs, and six stolen bases.
+ Cayden Staffeldt, SS (Seymour, 2026):
Staffeldt went 5-for-10 at the plate with one walk, one triple, and one home run. He drove in two runs and played error-free defense across three conference games.
Bay Port
The Pirates finished 3-0 last week, defeatinf West De Pere 3-1, Ashwaubenon 8-4, and Fond Du Lac 4-2. Bay Port is now 15-2 on the season. Below are a few of their top performers from last week.
+ Quinn Boeckman, RHP (Bay Port, 2026):
Boeckman pitched six innings against Middleton, allowing one run on two hits and four walks while striking out seven. He earned a victory for his performance.
+ Parker Lawson, RHP (Bay Port, 2026):
Lawson pitched six innings in a shutout win against Green Bay Preble, allowing no runs. He gave up four hits and three walks while striking out four batters.
+ Tommy Berg, OF (Bay Port, 2026):
Berg went 5-for-10 at the plate with three walks, one double, five RBIs, and four stolen bases. He hit a go-ahead squeeze bunt in a game against Middleton.
+ Drew LeClaire, 1B (Bay Port, 2026):
LeClaire went 4-for-11 at the plate with one double and three RBIs.
+ Arthur Adams V, C (Bay Port, 2027):
Adams went 5-for-12 at the plate with one walk, one double, and two RBIs.
Franklin
The Sabers went 2-1 last week, beating Burlington 13-0 and Kettle Moraine 5-1, losing to Muskego 7-6. Franklin is now 13-1 on the year. Below are a few of their top performers from last week.
+ Tavin Nass, C (Franklin, 2028):
Nass went 7-for-10 at the plate with one double, one triple, and two home runs. He drove in five runs and notably hit both of his team's home runs in a five-one win over Kettle Moraine.
+ Colby Kamlay, RHP/OF (Franklin, 2027):
Kamlay pitched a seven-inning complete game in a win against Kettle Moraine, allowing only one run. He allowed six hits and zero walks while striking out three.
+ Sam Ortiz , RHP/SS (Franklin, 2026):
Ortiz made one appearance on the mound against Burlington, pitching five innings. He allowed no runs on three hits and one walk while striking out seven batters.
Brookfield Central
The Lancers finished last week 2-1, defeating Racine Case 6-3 and Hamilton 3-2, losing to Post Washington 6-1. Below are some of the top performers from last week.
+ Colton Semmelmann, LHP (Brookfield Central, 2026):
Semmelmann pitched five innings against Port Washington, allowing no runs. He allowed only one hit and three walks while striking out 10 batters.
+ Vince Bitter, RHP/1B (Brookfield Central, 2026):
Bitter pitched 6.1 innings against Sussex Hamilton, allowing no runs. He gave up two hits and four walks while striking out 10 batters. Offensively, he went 3-for-10 and hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning that gave his team a 3-0 lead. He finished with four RBIs.
+ Peyton Lenell, SS (Brookfield Central, 2026):
Lenell went 4-for-9 at the plate with one walk, three doubles, and one stolen base.
+ Jake Christman, CF (Brookfield Central, 2026):
Christman went 3-for-8 at the plate with two RBIs and two stolen bases.
