ALABAMA — With the field narrowed and a trip to the Elite Eight on the line, the Sweet 16 round of the AHSAA Class 7A-1A playoffs raised the intensity across the state. The margin for error continued to shrink, and once again, it was the difference-makers who delivered, whether through dominant starts on the mound, timely extra-base hits, or clutch at-bats in late-game situations.

From complete-game efforts in swing games to game-changing moments in the middle and late innings, this round showcased the players stepping forward when their teams needed it most.

Here’s a look at the top performers from the Sweet 16 who helped their teams keep their championship runs alive.


Class 7A Top Performers

  • Wyatt Williams (Thompson) earned the Game 2 win, tossing 7 IP with 6 H, 1 R, 2 BB, and 13 K as Thompson swept Sparkman.
  • Kade Brantley (Thompson) went 2-2 with a home run and 4 RBI in Game 1 as Thompson swept Sparkman.
