Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Hitter & Pitcher of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state.

Let's take a look at the Hitter and Pitcher of the Week for Week 10 (Apr 18-Apr 25).

HITTER OF THE WEEK

Cullen Scott 3B / RHP / Melissa, TX / 2028 Rankings  StateRank: 1 / POS: 1 OverallRank: 19 / POS: 2 Scott turned in a huge week at the plate, going 8-for-9 with 3 doubles, 2 triples, and 2 home runs while driving in 6 RBI. Well established on the mound, Scott is now starting to show real impact with the bat as well. The bat speed and ability ot impact the baseball are both apparent and will keep refining the approach.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Trey Rangel RHP / The Colony, TX / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 11 / POS: 5 OverallRank: 69 / POS: 21 All-American and 2x Future Gamer Trey Rangel delivered a dominant outing, tossing a 7-inning complete game shutout while allowing just one hit and striking out 16 without issuing a walk. He’s put together a big-time season on the mound, posting a 0.39 ERA with 102 strikeouts, a 0.410 WHIP, and just 9 walks. Really showcasing the ability to get swing and miss without sacrificing strikes. A premier arm continuing to perform at a high level.
