CHSAA Players of the Week: April 20-25

Each week during the high school season, the Prep Baseball Colorado staff will be announcing our 'Player of the Week' award for that particular week. Numerous players from across the state continue to perform and put up numbers on a week-to-week basis, though only one athlete can take home the 'hitter' or 'pitcher' award each week. Below you'll see which players have earned our 'Player of the Week' honors this spring season.

Keaton Maiorana RHP / Mountain Vista, CO / 2026Rankings StateRank: 43 / POS: 15
Maiorana is a fireballer committed to UNLV who turned in an outstanding performance against Highlands Ranch last week. Across 6 innings, Maiorana whiffed 16 (!) hitters while allowing zero runs on just 2 hits and 2 walks in Mountain Vista’s win. At 6'6", 225 lbs, Maiorana generates a fastball into the mid-90s and has honed in his control this spring, posting a 2.51 ERA with 38 strikeouts across 22.1 innings, along with 16 hits and 14 walks allowed. Maiorana has a huge ceiling and is certainly a factor in the momentum Mountain Vista is building right now.

HITTER OF THE WEEK:

Colton Mitchell RHP / OF / Timnath, CO / 2026The Timnath senior had a week to remember, posting a hefty .750 average with 6 extra-base hits, 3 home runs, and a whopping 12 RBI for his program. Mitchell uses his size and strength to generate easy pop at the plate, and the uncommitted OF/RHP is now hitting .417 with a 1.246 OPS across 61 plate appearances this spring. He has also added in 30 innings on the mound with 31 Ks.
