Prep Baseball Illinois Pitcher of the Week: Will Bemrich

By: Peter Hamot
Assistant Scouting Director, Illinois & Wisconsin

Senior Parkland commit Will Bemrich (Mundelein) tossed a gem last week against conference foe Stevenson, helping them to a perfect undefeated record in conference up to this point. For his efforts and outstanding performance, Bemrich has been named this week’s Pitcher of the Week.

The southpaw fired a complete-game (seven innings) no-hitter against a strong Stevenson club, scattering one earned run on a fielder’s choice, three walks and seven strikeouts in a 10-1 win.

The 6-foot-3 southpaw is currently ranked No. 164 in the state, pairing projection with present ability on the mound. He’s a clean and loose mover with a long-levered operation, giving opposing hitters a tough look from a lower slot. The fastball will play in the mid-80s with natural sink/run - pairing with a sweeping slider and heavy fading changeup.

LHP Will Bemrich (Mundelein, 2026) showed some upside on the mound, standing in a 6-foot-3, 192-pound frame with long levers. He utilized a stretch-only delivery with a long, loose arm action out of a low ¾ slot. His fastball sat 86 mph throughout with heavy arm-side action. Bemrich also threw a changeup, showing feel with fade, sitting 78-80 mph, and a slider with short horizontal action, spinning at an average of 2594 rpm. He’s yet another uncommitted follow in the class.

We're thankful for the POTW submissions we received from the coaches across the state. The players who garnered POTW consideration will earn a place within tomorrow's Diamond Notes story, so be on the lookout for that.
