Quick Hitters: Wilmington Summer ID Hitters

On Saturday, May 16th, Prep Baseball North Carolina was back in Wilmington for the 2026 Wilmington Summer ID and the Wilmington Post 10 Scout Day, held together at Buck Hardee Field at Legion Stadium. The event featured players from the 2026-2031 grad classes, giving our staff an opportunity to evaluate a wide range of talent from across the region in a full showcase setting.
Players opened the workout with laser-timed 60-yard dashes, collecting 10-yard and 30-yard split data along the way. Position players then moved through an offensive workout that included multiple rounds of batting practice on the field with TrackMan technology capturing ball flight and batted ball data, while players attending the ID also received BLAST swing metrics. Defensively, players worked through position-specific evaluations, allowing our scouting staff to gather looks at athleticism, footwork, hands, exchanges, arm action, and overall defensive actions while recording arm strength data across the field.
Additional athletic testing, including jump metrics, was also collected throughout the day. Pitchers wrapped up the event with controlled bullpen sessions featuring TrackMan ball flight data, giving an in-depth look into pitch metrics, movement profiles, and overall arsenal evaluation.
Over the coming days, Prep Baseball NC will continue to release statistical leaderboards, scouting notes, and player reports from both events.
