NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE MONTH

In April, SS Jace Mataczynski (Hudson HS, WI, 2026) soared with an OPS over 2.000. The Auburn commit homered twice as much as he struck out against Wisconsin’s premiere programs. With his performance, the senior rose to MLB Draft prospect status, entering the latest Draft Board at No. 118.

Player of the Week - May 4-10: In New England, one prep arm has taken the baseball world by storm with one of the most dominant seasons. LHP Brody Bumila (Bishop Feehan HS, MA, 2026) has boosted his draft stock standing at 6-foot-9 with a high-90s fastball that has clipped triple digits. Over the week, he was near perfect with one runner reaching via hit-by-pitch as he set a program record with 20 strikeouts in a no-hit effort. More>>

College Crosscheck - Week 13: Director of College Scouting, David Seifert, was boots on the ground in Georgia as the Bulldogs hosted defending National Champions, LSU. ICYMI - 2026 MLB Mock Draft: The first Mock Draft in over a month expands into the second and Compensatory Round B selections, going from 37 to 75. As the college season begins to transition to playoffs and high school seasons wrap up, the ability to see prospects in-person has generated movement all over. A prep prospect jumps 22 spots from the previous draft, a Golden Spikes campaign in the NCAA sees another prospect enter the top-5, a Massachusetts prep arm towering over the competition catapults into a potential first-round pick and more. Postseason baseball is on the mind across the country with the warm weather states deep into competition and colder temperature areas fields’ taking shape. 15 programs rise into the top-50 after going unranked in the previous update with another jumping 23 spots into the top-20. ICYMI - ANGELS AT BAT

On Monday, April 27, Prep Baseball announced its new partnership with Angels at Bat, a nonprofit organization dedicated to growing the game of baseball throughout Africa. In honor of Africa Month, the partnership kicked off at the beginning of May, focused on raising awareness and support for Angel at Bat’s fundraising efforts in their mission. Summer ID: In the midst of the summer schedule, Prep Baseball scouts are spending their time looking for the best baseball in their territories while also providing athletes the opportunity to be seen in the recruiting process. The Summer ID serves that purpose as an open event, while also giving the chance to identify prospects for some of the season’s biggest invite-only events like Top Prospect, State Games, Future Games, All-American Game and more. Rising Stars ID: Geared towards the 13U and 14U prospects in the classes of 2030 and 2031, the Rising Stars ID serves as an introductory event to Prep Baseball. A starting point for any player with aspirations to play at the next level, the Rising Stars is an educational experience that guides a prospect through the process of a showcase.

The event takes players through the basic skills testing with a more hands-on approach from scouting directors and staff to help create the baseline for prospects to improve upon in their careers. It will also introduce them to the data aspects behind the technology that sets Prep Baseball and its evaluation apart. The Rising Stars ID will also act as an identifier for future events such as the Junior Future Games at LakePoint Sports and provide an early preview into players who may end up on Prep Baseball rankings.
