WIAA Diamond Notes: Week 6

Each week, WIAA coaches around the state submit to us their nominations for the Prep Baseball Wisconsin Player of the Week and Prep Baseball Wisconsin Pitcher of the Week honors. Yesterday, we awarded the Week 6 Player of the Week to OF Alex Michna (New Berlin Eisenhower, 2027), The left-handed bat went 13-for-19 with two home runs, two triples, four doubles, 16 RBIs, two walks, 11 runs, and eight stolen bases. The highlight of the week was a two-run home run in a loss to Cedar Grove-Belgium, which sparked an offensive rally, while down 11-2. The Pitcher of the Week is RHP Josh Wright (Fall Creek, 2027), Wright tossed seven innings, allowing zero hits, zero runs, and one walk, while striking out 14.
There were a number of other impressive performances that were in the mix for the award and deserve recognition. Here’s a look at some of the most notable.
Week 6 Diamond Notes
+ Michael Glodowski, RHP/SS (Amherst , 2026):
Glodowski had a productive week, going 9-for-17 at the plate with eight runs scored and nine stolen bases. He recorded one double, one triple, and three RBIs. On the mound across one start and one relief appearance, Glodowski pitched six innings and allowed no runs. He surrendered two hits and four walks while striking out eight.
+ Peyton Poker, C (Baraboo, 2026):
Poker went 5-for-10 at the plate with two walks. He recorded one double, one triple, and hit the first home run of his high school career. He finished the week with four RBIs and one stolen base.
+ Hunter Larson, RHP/SS (Barneveld, 2026):
Larson pitched a five-inning no-hitter against Weston, striking out 10 batters and allowing no runs. In another five-inning victory against Shullsburg/Benton, he allowed two runs while striking out 12. Across nine total appearances, Larson has pitched 32 innings with 60 strikeouts, allowing five walks and 23 hits. At the plate, Larson is 21-for-48 with eight walks, five doubles, two triples, and one home run. He has recorded 22 RBIs and 18 stolen bases.
+ Mason Durst, RHP/OF/SS (Barneveld, 2028):
Durst went 8-for-11 at the plate with one double and six RBIs. He also recorded four stolen bases. On the mound against Parkview, Durst pitched his third complete game shutout of the year, throwing five innings and allowing no runs. He surrendered two hits and one walk while striking out five.
+ Carson Roemhild, SS/RHP (Boyceville, 2026):
Roemhild went 8-for-16 at the plate with two walks, one double, and one triple. He finished the week with 10 RBIs and seven stolen bases. On the mound across three appearances, Roemhild pitched 13.2 innings, allowing 10 hits, 13 walks, and 15 strikeouts.
+ Ian Kawczynski, SS (Catholic Memorial, 2026):
Kawczynski went 6-for-14 at the plate with one walk. He recorded three doubles, two triples, three RBIs, and four stolen bases.
+ Jackson Schramm , P/OF (Crivitz, 2026):
Schramm went 4-for-9 at the plate with four walks, one double, and one triple. He also recorded four RBIs. On the mound across two appearances, Schramm pitched 10 total innings and earned two wins. He allowed one run, four hits, and one walk while striking out 25 batters.
+ Cole Wagner, C/1B (Elkhart Lake - Glenbeulah, 2027):
Wagner went 7-for-10 at the plate with five walks. He recorded three doubles, one triple, and two home runs, one of which was a grand slam. He finished the week with nine RBIs and two stolen bases.
+ Bryson Elkins, SS, RHP (Fall Creek, 2028):
Elkins went 9-for-17 at the plate with one walk and one home run. He recorded eight RBIs and five stolen bases. On the mound across three appearances, Elkins went 2-0 while pitching nine innings. He allowed four runs, 12 hits, and three walks while striking out eight batters.
+ Reed Vorlob, LHP (Horicon, 2026):
MATC commot. Vorlob turned in a dominant performance on the mound by striking out 12 batters against Oshkosh.
+ Sam Abrahamson, 2B (Hudson, 2026):
Abrahamson had an incredible week at the plate, going 12-for-15. He recorded four doubles, one triple, eight RBIs, and one stolen base.
+ Tate Hagen, 3B/SS (Lake Country Lutheran, 2028):
Hagen went 12-for-17 at the plate with five walks. He recorded two doubles, four triples, and one home run. He finished the week with three RBIs and six stolen bases.
+ Wyatt Stauss, 3B (Marinette, 2027):
Stauss went 8-for-12 at the plate with one walk and three doubles. He finished the week with eight RBIs, five of which occurred with two outs.
+ Tyson Resch, P/DH (Menomonee Falls, 2028):
Resch went 3-for-9 at the plate with six walks, one double, and two home runs. He finished with six RBIs and one stolen base. He also earned a win on the mound by pitching six innings against Marquette.
+ Tripp Wroblewski , SS (Notre Dame, 2028):
Wroblewski went 10-for-17 at the plate with four walks. He recorded two doubles, two triples, six RBIs, and two stolen bases.
+ Mack Endres, 1B (Oak Creek, 2026):
Wisconsin-Whitewater commit. Endres went 7-for-14 at the plate with three walks. He recorded one double and hit two home runs on Saturday against South Milwaukee. He finished the week with nine RBIs and one stolen base.
+ Griffin Donahue, SS (Random Lake, 2027):
Donahue went 7-for-10 at the plate with two doubles and one home run. He finished with four RBIs and one stolen base.
+ Marty Hanna, SS/RHP (Sauk Prairie, 2026):
Hanna threw a one-hitter over five innings against Fort Atkinson, striking out 13 batters. Across six appearances on the year, he has pitched 33.1 innings with 51 strikeouts, allowing 23 hits and eight walks. At the plate, Hanna is 4-for-9 with four walks, two doubles, three RBIs, and three stolen bases.
+ Sam Patterson, LHP, OF (Sauk Prairie, 2028):
Patterson pitched a three-hit shutout over seven innings against Fort Atkinson, striking out nine batters and allowing one walk. At the plate, he went 2-for-9 with one walk, one double, and two RBIs.
+ Levi Yngsdal-Chapi, CF (Sauk Prairie, 2028):
Yngsdal-Chapi went 8-for-13 at the plate with one walk, two doubles, and one triple. He also recorded five RBIs and one stolen base.
+ Davis Cashin , RHP/C (Watertown, 2026):
Cashin pitched a complete game win against Deforest, allowing one run. Across five total appearances on the year, he has pitched 25 innings with 31 strikeouts, allowing 19 hits and 11 walks. At the plate, Cashin went 6-for-11 with two walks, two doubles, and one RBI. He also recorded three stolen bases.
+ Joe Graveen, SS (Wausau West, 2026):
Graveen went 6-for-10 at the plate with two walks. He recorded four doubles, one triple, and eight RBIs.
SLINGER
The Owls finished last week 2-1. Beating Nicolet and Port Washington, losing to Homestead. Below were some of their top performers.
+ Brayden Zimmerman, RHP/1B (Slinger, 2026):
Zimmerman went 4-for-7 at the plate with four walks, three doubles, and two RBIs. He also recorded four stolen bases. On the mound against Nicolet, Zimmerman pitched 5.2 innings, allowing three runs, five hits, and one walk while striking out seven.
+ Cole Lighthizer, 3B/C (Slinger, 2027):
Lighthizer went 6-for-9 at the plate with one walk, one triple, and one RBI.
+ Payton Tennies, CF (Slinger, 2027):
Tennies went 5-for-9 at the plate with three walks and three doubles. He was also a threat on the bases, recording seven stolen bases.
BROOKFIELD CENTRAL
The Lancers finished last week 2-2, beating West Bend East, splitting a two game series with Brookfield East, and losing to Hamilton. Below were some of their top performers from last week.
+ Colton Semmelmann, LHP (Brookfield Central, 2026):
Semmelmann pitched five innings against Brookfield East, allowing no runs. He allowed two hits and three walks while striking out eight batters.
+ Brady Mohns, 3B (Brookfield Central, 2026):
Mohns went 6-for-13 at the plate with two walks and three doubles. He also contributed three RBIs.
+ Vince Bitter, 1B (Brookfield Central, 2026):
Bitter went 4-for-10 at the plate with one walk and one double. He also finished the week with four RBIs.
+ Drew Heun, 2B (Brookfield Central, 2028):
Heun went 3-for-6 at the plate with one walk and one double. He finished with four RBIs, including a three-run double in the first inning against Brookfield East.
+ Nick Rykwalder, 2B (Brookfield Central, 2027):
Rykwalder went 3-for-5 at the plate with one double and one RBI.
