Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.

We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. No. 2 Normal Community defeated No. 20 Lincoln-Way West by the score of 10-2 in Illinois's Power 25 matchup. Their victory improved to 31-2 of the season. The Ironmen offense was led by Drew Stevens (2026; Valparaiso Commit), who went 2-for-3 with a walk, single, double, a run scored, and three RBIs. Jacob Engel (2026) went 3-for-4 with three singles, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Andrew Naour (2026) hit a two-RBI single and Lucas Beaty (2027) hit an RBI single in this contest. Gavin Swartz (2026; Indiana) tossed four innings and struck out five to earn the win.

No. 9 Mount Carmel defeated No. 5 Lockport by the score of 3-1 in an Illinois top 10 matchup. The Caravan offense came in the fifth inning when they put up a three-spot. Christian Clark began the scoring with an RBI groundout while TJ McQuillan (2026; Wake Forest Commit) hit the go-ahead two-RBI double that proved to be the game winner. Ian Tosi (2026; Miami Commit) tossed a complete game and struck out five while giving up three hits and an earned run. He was going against Lockport's Austin Winge (2027), who went five innings with seven punchouts.

No. 6 Brother Rice defeated No. 10 Lemont by the score of 3-2 in an Illinois top 10 matchup. Three players provided RBIs for the Crusaders, which was enough to win the game. Luca Agne (2027; Boston College Commit) got the scoring started with his bases-loaded walk. Colin Campbell (2027; Louisville Commit) provided a sacrifice fly, and Brent Nevils (2026; Xavier (LA) Commit) knocked in an RBI single. On the mound, Aidan Dillon (2027) tossed a complete game and struck out four while giving up three hits and two runs.

No. 7 Triad defeated Marquette Catholic by the score of 9-1 to improve to 26-5 of the season. The Knights offense was led by Keegan Seipp (2027; Xavier Commit), who went 2-for-3 with a hit by pitch, stolen base, RBI double, and a two-run homer. Other notable players include Nolan Keller (2026; Kaskaskia JC Commit) (2-for-3, RBI triple, SB) and Brody Hasquin (2027; 1-for-4, RBI double). Matt Morris (2028) took the mound and delivered five innings and struck out four to earn the win.

St. Rita took down No. 8 Lane Tech by the score of 5-3. The Mustangs offense was led by four players. Joe Camer got the scoring started with his sacrifice fly. RBI singles came from Aden Gutierrez (2028) and Colin Quinn (2026; Heartland CC Commit). Luke Arteaga hit an RBI double. On the mound Will Rewers (2026; Saint Ambrose Commit) threw six strong innings and punched out eight hitters to earn the win. For Lane Tech, RBI knocks came from Eric Acevedo (2027) and Paris Head (2029). Acevedo hit the RBI triple while Head hit the RBI single.

H G. Lobbins: 1-for-3, SB, R, 2 RBI

No. 13 McHenry defeated Elk Grove by the score of 6-5 to improve to 26-6-1 of the season. Garet Lobbins (2027) led the Warriors offense by going 1-for-3 with a two-RBi single, a stolen base, and a run scored. Other key players include Kaden Wasniewski (2027; LSU Commit) and Carver Cohn (2028), each with RBI doubles and a run scored. Ian Boland (2027) took the mound and tossed four innings with five strikeouts to earn the win.

H M. Bruesch: 2-for-3, HR, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R, BB

No. 14 Geneva shut out St. Charles East 10–0 in five innings to win the three-game series. Mason Bruesch (2027; Michigan State commit) starred on both sides of the ball, leading the Vikings to a 10–0 victory. On the mound, he tossed a five-inning one-hitter, allowing just one walk while striking out four. At the plate, Bruesch went 2-for-3 with a home run, double, two RBI, two runs scored, and a walk. Gavin Dworak (2028; 2-for-3, 2 3B, 3 RBI, R) also had a big day at the plate. Kyle LaRose (2027) collected the lone hit for St. Charles East.

No. 15 Marquette rolled past Somonauk 10-0 in five innings to improve to 32-1 on the season. Alec Novotney (2026; Valparaiso commit; 3-for-4, 3 RBI), Grady Dose (2028; 2 H, RBI), Braxton Nelle (2027; H, RBI, 3 R), and Anthony Couch (2026; Spoon River JC commit; H, 2 RBI) led the Crusaders offense. Couch also got the start on the mound and tossed two scoreless innings. Baron Hellman (2029) went the final three innings, allowing two hits, one walk, and zero runs, while striking out four.

No. 17 Mascoutah defeated Granite City 7-2. Eight players recorded a hit in a balanced offensive attack, highlighted by David Schulte (2026; 2-for-3, 3B, 2 RBI, R, HBP) and Christian Epps (2H, 2B, RBI, R, SB). Brandon Klein (2029) earned the win on the mound, going five innings while allowing two runs and striking out seven. Quinn Ford (2026) tossed the last two innings, giving up no runs on no hits.

No. 18 Tremont cruised past Havana 11-2 to earn their 30th win of the season. Tremont scored seven in the top of the seventh to put the game out of reach. Jack Oyer (2028; 3-for-3, RBI, BB, SB), Jake Williams (2028; 2-for-3, 2B, RBI, 3 R, HBP, SB), Josh Papenhause (2026; 2B, 2 RBI) and Griffin Meeker (2026; Heartland commit; 2B, 2 RBI) led the high flying offense. Four pitchers combined to throw seven solid innings, allowing zero earned runs and striking out 13. Andrew Dawson (2026; Valparaiso; 4.1 IP, H, R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 9 K) got the win.

H H. Baugh: 2-for-2, 3 RBI, 2 R, BB

No. 22 Edwardsville shut out Rochester 9-0 behind a combined one hit effort from the pitching staff. Tony Eberlin (2026; 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, 6 K), Hunter Baugh (2026; Lindenwood commit; IP, H, 0 R, 0 BB, K) and Miller Dunnill (2027; 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K) combined for a gem. Baugh also collected two hits, three RBI, and two runs scored at the plate to lead the Tigers offense. Ty Hunt (2027; 2-for-3, RBI, 2 R, BB, SB) also collected two hits in the contest.

No. 23 Dunlap held on to defeat Metamora 3-2 to improve to 26-6 on the season. Eli Michanicou (2027; Bradley commit; 6 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 0 BB, 6 K) got the win and Landon Gray (2026; Luther commit; IP, 0 H, 0 R, BB, 2 K) earned the save in relief. The Eagles got all three runs on one swing, thanks to a bases-clearing double from Brett Alkire (2027). Michanicou reached base all three times via walk and Simon Malcolm (2026) collected a hit and a walk for the Eagles. Cole Smith (2026; Carl Sandburg commit) and Brady Jones (2028) each collected two hits for the Redbirds.

Highland took down No. 24 Waterloo 6-2. Tyler Mehrtens (2028) led the way on both sides of the ball, going 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and three driven in, while tossing 4.2 innings on the mound, giving up two unearned runs, no hits and four walks, while striking out two. Nolan Houchins (2026; 2.1 IP, H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K) finished the game strong for the Bulldogs.

Niles Notre Dame collected a statement win, defeating No. 25 Lake Forest 7–1. Tony Szwedo (2026; 3-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R), Ryan Cisneroz (2026; Millikin commit; 2-for-4, 2B, 3 RBI) and Nathan Olivares (2026; Cornell College commit; 3-for-3, R) led the Dons offense. Kellan Anderson (2028; 3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB K) and Matt Palm (4 IP, 2 H, R, 2 BB, 3 K) were solid on the mound.

Alleman took down Biggsville West Central 11-1. Kelly Honert improved to 5-0 with the win, firing five innings with two hits allowed, no earned runs and six strikeouts. On the other side of the ball, Honert helped his own case going 2-for-3 with a homer, double, three RBIs and two runs scored. Brady Williams was a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBIs, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Connor Fox was 2-for-3 with a double, RBI, run scored and a stolen base.

Recap

Painfield South took down Romeoville 8-7. Ayden Gamble with a pinch hit RBI double to tie the game then Adam Skibinski delivered the game winning hit. Richard Conley got the win in relief with 1.2 innings pitched, one hit and no runs. Jack Mulheron was 3-for-4 with a double.

Recap

Prairie Ridge defeated Barrington 11-1 to improve to 21-8 on the season. Jack Hermann (2027; 3-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R), Gavin Piekos (2026; Milwaukee Area JC commit; 2 H, 2B, 2 R) and Jack Dahlem (2026; 2 H, RBI, R) led a balanced offensive attack for the Wolves. Colt Zaleski (2027) got the start and the win on the mound going five innings, allowing one run.

Teutopolis beat Williamsville 9-2 to improve to 23-8 on the season. Jason Kreke (2026; Kaskaskia JC commit; 3-for-3, 3B, 2B, RBI, HBP), Gavin Addis (2026; Parkland commit; 3-for-4, 3B, 2 RBI, R), Luke Niebrugge (2028; 2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI, R) and Austin Borries (2026; Lindenwood commit; 2-for-3, 2 RBI, BB) led the Wooden Shoes offense. Borries also got the start on the mound and tossed 6.1 innings, allowing two runs on five hits and four walks, while striking out eight.
