Prep Baseball Wisconsin Pitcher of the Week: Luke Parkinson
May 6, 2026
Senior RHP Luke Parkinson (Bradley commit) was outstanding in his lone start this week for Whitnall, tossing a five-inning, run-rule, no-hitter. Parkinson led the Falcons on the mound to an 11-0 win over New Berlin West, finishing the game with a run rule in the fifth inning. This is his second hitless outing after going three strong in a loss to Hartford. For this reason, the senior has been named this week's Pitcher of the Week.
The right-hander tossed five innings, allowing zero hits, zero runs, and one walk while striking out eight. This is Parkinson’s most impressive start this year, which has been filled with a handful of dominant outings. Now having tossed 20.2 innings, allowing only five hits, and striking out 33.
Currently ranked 24th overall in the Wisconsin 2026 class, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound right-hander has looked the part all year long on the mound. Earlier this April, showing the fastball up to 90 mph, with a polished curveball and changeup to follow. Parkinson is also getting it done with the bat, going 2-for-5 with a double, three RBIs, and a walk in Whitnall's wins over New Berlin West and Milwaukee Lutheran.

Scouting Report
Bradley recruit. Currently ranked No. 24 in the state’s senior class. Listed at a strong yet still projectable 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame with lean strength throughout the frame. Got the start for Whitnall and tossed four innings allowing two earned runs on one hit, five walks and struck out seven batters. Got into some trouble early on in the first before striking out the side to get through a scoreless first inning. Parkinson would cruise until the fourth inning picking up a number of strikeouts and whiffs along the way (15 total whiffs) before Marquette would start applying pressure to the defense on the basepaths. Mostly two pitches throughout the outing, the fastball worked consistently in the upper-80s, topping out at 90 mph with life and ride through the zone and spun a bigger 12/6 breaking ball at 70-73 mph. Still an immense ceiling to the right-hander and remains a follow as the spring continues to progress.
RHP Luke Parkinson (Whitnall, 2026): Bradley recruit, possesses a strong 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame with tons of projection left as he matures into his frame. On the mound, he works with a rhythmic and athletic tempo, utilizing a high, balanced leg lift that lands while maintaining direction to the plate. The arm action works clean and athletic, releasing from an over-the-top slot, quick arm speed through release with whip and life out of the hand. His fastball sat 89-91 mph (2,298 rpm) with an event-best 19.9 inches of average induced vertical break, while his curveball played at 73-74 mph (2,555 rpm) with 12.2 inches of horizontal movement. The curveball acted as a sharp 11/5 out-pitch, and he rounded out his arsenal with an 81-83 mph (1,820 rpm) changeup that featured 16.2 inches of horizontal movement alongside advanced feel for the strike zone.
Senior Future Games 2025: Currently ranked No. 30 in Wisconsin’s 2026 class. Displaying an athletic, long-levered 6-foot-3, 174-pound frame, Parkinson secured swings-and-misses with his lively fastball.
