2026 Iowa High School Team Preview: Kingsley-Pierson

Tyler Cropley
State Director, Prep Baseball Iowa

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement is building throughout Iowa. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Iowa.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Carroll or Cedar Rapids at the IHSAA 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A State Tournaments, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to shine a spotlight on all teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Iowa.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.

Each week we will be releasing our Diamond Notes, covering all the bases across the state of Iowa.

TEAM OUTLOOK

“We have a strong senior class with 3 returning All conference players. Tyler Koch, Easton Nissen, and Landon Howe are all-state caliber players and expected to have monster years for us. If they can lead from the front and our younger guys have solid years, I expect our team to compete with any team in the 1a field. We will be very strong on the mound again this year with Landon and Easton being a legitimate 1-2 punch. Both guys command the ball well and are in the 80's with the fastball. For us to be successful at the level that we want to be successful at, we will need to manufacture more runs than we did a year ago. Out of our 9 losses from a season ago, 6 of them were 1 run losses. We are looking to grow in all areas and fully expect those close games to become wins this season and are looking for another appearance down in Carroll. ” – Taylor Doeschot, head coach
