Compiled from submissions by high school coaches statewide, this feature highlights standout individual efforts from the previous week and takes a closer look at the players who made the biggest impact on the diamond.

From dominant outings on the mound to explosive offensive showings and all-around performances that fueled team success, Alabama Diamond Notes is your weekly snapshot of who’s trending across the state.

Cooper Whorton C / 3B / Boaz, AL / 2027 Nearly perfect at the plate, going 6-for-7 (.857) with 2 HR and 4 RBI. Also hitting .500 on the year with zero strikeouts while showing consistent extra-base production.

Jordon Lankford 3B / OF / Geraldine School, AL / 2028 An explosive week offensively, going 8-for-10 (.800) with 2 HR, 2 doubles, 10 RBI, and 10 runs scored. Added 3 walks, a HBP, and 5 stolen bases.

Jon Beck Wade OF / OF / Geraldine School, AL / 2028 Powered the offense throughout the week, going 7-for-14 (.500) with 2 HR, 7 RBI, and 6 runs scored, while swiping 4 bases.

Kade Justice SS / Geraldine School, AL / 2027 Reached base consistently, going 5-for-12 (.417) with 2 RBI and 6 runs scored, drawing 4 walks and stealing 5 bases for a .522 OBP.

Braxton Franklin C / RHP / Geraldine High School, AL / 2029 Made an impact in multiple phases, going 4-for-12 (.333) with 2 RBI and 6 runs scored, while adding 7 stolen bases. Also tossed 4 scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts.

Isaac Sullivan C / RHP / Northside Methodist Church & Academy, AL / 2026 Produced offensively and on the mound, going 7-for-13 (.538) with 2 doubles and 3 RBI, while posting a .600 OBP and adding 4 stolen bases. Also logged 4 innings with 3 strikeouts.

Neel Patel 3B / SS / Florence, AL / 2026 The Freed Hardeman recruit showed extra-base impact, going 4-for-12 (.333) with a HR, triple, and double, while scoring 4 runs and reaching base frequently for the Falcons.

Jacob O'Bryan 3B / C / Gulf Shores High, AL / 2026 The Bishop State CC recruit stayed productive at the plate, going 6-for-11 (.545) with a double and 3 runs scored, while adding a walk and a stolen base, now sitting at 28 SB on the year.

John Luke Stephens SS / RHP / Gulf Shores, AL / 2026 Stephens, a Mississippi Gulf Coast CC recruit, delivered a strong two-way performance, earning the complete-game win with 12 strikeouts over 7 innings, allowing just 1 earned run. Also went 6-for-11 (.545) with a HR, double, and 4 RBI.

Cole Spanier 3B / RHP / Bob Jones, AL / 2026 The uncommitted senior collected hits consistently, going 8-for-16 (.500) with a HR, double, 3 RBI, and 5 runs scored for the 7A No. 10 Patriots.

Tayte Dunn C / 3B / Bob Jones, AL / 2026 The Itawamba CC recruit added run production at the plate for the 7A No. 10 Patriots, going 5-for-13 (.385) with 3 RBI and a walk.

Kolton Bentley 3B / OF / Hazel Green, AL / 2027 Made the most of limited opportunities in two games for the week, going 2-for-4 (.500) with a triple, reaching base multiple times and adding a stolen base for the 6A No. 7 Trojans.

Jay Murner 1B / RHP / Deshler, AL / 2027 Delivered a big offensive week for 4A No. 1 Deshler, going 6-for-10 (.600) with 3 HR, a double, and 5 RBI, while drawing 4 walks.

Tripp Cleveland SS / RHP / Russellville, AL / 2027 Came through in big moments, going 3-for-5 (.600) with a HR, double, and 7 RBI, posting a .800 OBP. Also tossed a complete-game one-hitter with 13 strikeouts.

Grayson Miller 3B / RHP / Lindsay Lane Christian Academy, AL / 2029 One of the top all-around performances, going 8-for-9 (.889) with 2 HR, 2 doubles, 9 RBI, and 7 runs scored, while drawing 3 walks. Also earned the win across 2 appearances with 10 strikeouts.

Luke Knight RHP / OF / Benjamin Russell, AL / 2027 Dominant on the mound, earning a complete-game win with 11 strikeouts over 7 innings, filling up the zone at a 69% strike rate.

Reed Wade 1B / 3B / Geraldine School, AL / 2029 The freshman provided quality innings across appearances, allowing just 1 earned run over 5.1 innings with 5 strikeouts.

Colton Clark 3B / 2B / Hazel Green, AL / 2027 Shined in a complete-game effort, tossing 7 innings while allowing just 2 hits and 1 earned run, striking out 9 to help the Trojans wrap up an area championship.

Jesse Isensee SS / RHP / James Clemens, AL / 2026 The Coastal Alabama-South recruit delivered a no-hit performance, tossing a 5-inning complete-game no-hitter with 7 strikeouts as the Jets remain undefeated in area play.

Hunter Barron OF / RHP / Fairview High School, AL / 2027 Helped secure an area championship, tossing a complete-game win with 7 strikeouts, allowing just 1 earned run with no walks.

Tanner Isbell RHP / 1B / Fairview High School, AL / 2027 Isbell followed up Barron's outing with another strong complete-game effort, allowing 2 earned runs over 7 innings with 7 strikeouts and no walks.

Elijah Steele RHP / OF / Hazel Green, AL / 2026 The Calhoun CC recruit turned in a solid outing, going 5 innings while allowing 1 earned run with 5 strikeouts and no walks in the Trojans area series sweep of Buckhorn.
