2026 OSSAA Power 25: Week Eight

Bret Schwartz
Oklahoma Scouting Director

We update the Power 25 with just a few weeks left in the regular season. As the regular season winds down, we have numerous squads from across the state that have shown the ability to rack up big wins, but consistency is a premium..  This update features a few small changes due to results on the field. Further, we see some teams continuing to get healthy with optimism in the upcoming weeks. All scores and records are from the OSSAA Rankings page or Gamechanger.

With the latest update, we also have changes inside our Top 5:
- At the top, our new number 1 is Stillwater with a record of 19-4, winners of 6 of their last 7 and an offense that only continues to develop and become more dangerous. Numerous underclassmen make up the Pioneer lineup and the depth throughout seems to grow with each game they play.

- At #2, Tuttle continues to show to be one of the favorites in the highly competitive class 4. The Tigers are one of the older squads in the state with a wealth of experience throughout the roster. Further, they continue to welcome back difference makers from injury just in time for the stretch run of the regular season.

- At 3, Elgin continues their rise as their record improves to 27-2 following a 5-0 week that saw them average 11 runs per game. One of the most physical offenses in the state, the Owls have shown the ability to drive the baseball to all parts of the yard and score runs in a hurry. On the shortlist of favorites in 4A, Elgin moves up a couple spots with a big series against Lone Grove beginning this evening.

- Rising to #4 is Mustang, as the Broncos are coming off a 4-0 week, including a district sweep of rival Yukon, and have improved to 27-4 on the year. The Mustang offense has shown to be one of the most balanced in the state with extra base hit ability throughout. Further, they have shown the ability to make in-game adjustments as well as anyone we have had the opportunity to see this spring with the 2nd and 3rd time through the lineup often times resulting in a big outburst. As winners of 10 in a row and 16 of 17, Mustang begins a monster district series against Edmond Memorial tonight.

- Finally, rounding out our Top 5 is Yukon as they sit at 22-6 on the year. The Millers sit at 8-2 in the competitive 6A-1 following a pair of 5-4 losses to Mustang. Yukon has continued to have a number or players step up throughout the season, both in the lineup and on the mound, and logged wins against both Piedmont and Enid on the back half of the week. As the season winds down, the schedule Yukon has played along with the development throughout the roster make them a scary team to see in May.

Amongst our biggest risers, Washington has won 7 in a row and currently sits at 24-5 on the season. They have the frontline starters to compete with anyone in the state and have shown the depth in their offense to score runs in bunches. Winners of four straight titles, this is the time of year that sees Washington's Championship DNA come to the forefront. Carl Albert also rises in our latest installment on the backs of a 5-0 week and a 24-5 overall mark. They showcase an offense with dynamic players that can impact games in a variety of ways as they averaged over 12.5 runs this week. A championship caliber offense can score runs despite the conditions, and the Titan lineup has shown the ability to do just that - wind blowing in, out, and consistently pressure the opponent.

Breaking into our Power 25 is Sulphur. The Bulldogs are 25-2 and racked up a pair of big wins over Marlow and Mount St. Mary last week. Winners of 19 of their last 20, they continue to win games in a variety of ways - whether they be high scoring or low scoring games. Looking ahead to this week, we will see a massive matchup against Tuttle in 4A-3 with each team sitting at 12-0 in district play. That District Championship Series gets underway at Tuttle this evening.
