Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.
We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. No. 1 St. Laurence defeated Leo 15-6. Sean Popp (2026; Oakton CC Commit) led the Vikings offense with four RBIs as he went 4-for-4 with a double, three singles, two stolen bases, and a run. Tristan Steger (2027; Kentucky Commit) knocked in three RBIs on his three-run home run. Mickey Lotus (2026; Lewis Commit) had himself a day by going 5-for-5 with a double, four singles, two walks, three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBIs. Cory Les (2026; Louisville Commit) went 2-for-3 with a double, triple, a walk, three runs, and two RBIs. Evan Panther hit a RBI triple and RBI groundout to drive in his two RBIs of the day. Jacob Hite (2028) got in on the long ball and hit a two-run home run to knock in two RBIs. Ryan Wollschlager (2026; Pepperdine Commit) struck out six batters in his three innings of relief. Luke Arroyo (2026) was the Vikings top pitching performer as he struck out four batters and did not allow a hit and run in his two-frame outing. Casey Czyszczon (2026) entered the seventh inning and struck out the side to end the game.

No. 3 Lincoln-Way East defeated Andrew 5-3. Tyler Hudik (2026) led the Griffins offense by knocking in two RBIs on his two-run triple. Ryne Pearson (2026) hit an RBI double, Rocco Triolo (2027) an RBI groundout, and Case Templin (2027) an RBI single all in the first inning. Cooper Johnson (2027; Purdue Commit) went 4.1 innings and struck out four to get the win. Keegan Crabtree (2028) had a nice relief outing by tossing two hitless innings, striking out a batter, and only gave up a baserunner.

No. 6 Libertyville took down Stevenson 3-1. Trevor Wallace (2026; Ripon Commit) led the Wildcats offense going 2-for-4 with two singles, a stolen base, run, and an RBI. Ryan Wilberding (2027; Marshall Commit) and Jack Cenar (2026) each knocked in RBI singles. Chase Lockwood (2026; Illinois State Commit) pitched a complete game and struck out nine batters and gave up an unearned run.

No. 7 Huntley defeated Barrington 8-6. Gavin Rettberg (2026) led the Red Raiders offense by going 2-for-2 with a solo home run, single, sacrifice fly, two runs, and three RBIs. Kyle Ziebell (2026; Lake Land JC Commit) went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run. Both players were part of a six-spot put up in the fourth inning. Owen Borkowski (2027) got the win in relief when he threw 1.2 inning only giving up an unearned run but not allowing a hit. Travis Dudycha (2026; Heartland CC Commit) finished the remaining 1.1 inning by striking out two of a four batters he faced and not giving up a hit and run and picking up the save.

No. 8 New Trier took down Buffalo Grove 5-2. Jackie Ryder (2027) led the offense by hitting three quarters of the cycle; a solo home run, two-run single, and a double that drove in three RBIs. Isaac Fogt took one for the team on his hit by pitch that forced in a run. Nick Bailey (2026) pitched four stellar hitless innings and struck out five batters. Daniel Spilotro pitched the final two frames without allowing a hit and run, one strikeout, and earning the save.

No. 11 Lockport took down No. 9 Homewood-Flossmoor in Prep Baseball Illinois's Power 25 matchup. The Porters erased a seven-run deficit and came back scoring nine unanswered runs. This was led by Zack Skrzypiec (2026), who went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, double, and a single that knocked in four RBIs. Kaden O'Leary (2027) went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a single, two runs, and two RBIs. Other key players include Drew Satunas with an RBI double, Jack Schiek (2026; Purdue-Northwest Commit) an RBI groundout, and David Kundrat (2026; St. Xavier Commit) with a solo home run. Ryan O'Neal (2027) got the win in relief when he pitched 1.1 hitless inning and recorded a strikeout. David Fiedor pitched 2.2 shutout innings and struck out three to notch the save.

Marist defeated No. 13 Providence Catholic by the score of 3-2. Brendan Killen (2027) tallied the RedHawks only RBI of the day, finishing the game 1-for-3 with a triple. Collin Lawlor (2028) had a stellar performance on the mound, tossing 4.1 innings in relief, tallying nine strikeouts, no walks or runs, and allowing only two hits while earning the win. For Providence Catholic, Bryce Tencza (2026) went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Colton Carli (2027) threw one inning in relief, struck out two, allowed no walks or runs while allowing one hit.

No. 16 St. Joseph-Ogden defeated Warrensburg-Latham by the score of 8-1. Finn Miller (2027) went 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles, four RBI and two runs scored. Logan Rosenthal (2026; Heartland CC) went a perfect 3-for-3 as well, tallying a double, one run scored and a walk, and Kodey McKinney (2026) added a hit with three runs scored. On the mound, Asher Pruemer (2026; Kaskaskia JC) earned the win, tossing six innings with 10 strikeouts, one walk, one earned run and four hits.

No. 17 Sandburg defeated Bradley-Bourbonnais by the score of 12-2. Giovanni Longo (2026; Roosevelt University) went 2-for-2 in the game with a home run, three RBI, three runs scored and two walks. Lucas Rosas (2026; Benedictine University) added three hits in the game with one RBI, Nick Seaman (2026) added a hit with two RBI, two runs scored and walk, and Noah Jaisingh (2026) tallied a double. On the mound, Aidan Barrera (2026; South Suburban JC) earned the win, tossing 4.1 innings with four strikeouts, one walk, two runs and five hits.

No. 18 Lemont defeated Thorton Fractional South by the score of 12-1. Grady Garofalo (2026; South Suburban JC) and Zane Schneider (2027) each homered in the game, with Schneider driving in three, scoring two runs and walking once. Sean Murray (2026) went 2-for-3 with a double, four RBI and one run scored, and Matt Ciesla (2026) went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI and two run scored.

No. 19 Lincoln-Way West defeated Stagg by the score of 13-6. Jackson Mansker (2026; Indianapolis FB) went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, three runs scored and a walk. Michael Pettit (2026; Notre Dame) added two hits, one being a double, with one RBI and three runs scored, and Carson Paulas (2026) went 2-for-3 with one RBI, one run scored and a walk. The Warriors offense tallied 10 hits, nine RBI and 11 walks in the game. On the mound, Emmett Carlson (2027) tossed three innings in relief, struck out four, walked two, and allowed one run and four hits. For Stagg, Jasper Wills went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI and one run scored.

No. 20 Mascoutah defeated Belleville West by the score of 3-2. David Schulte (2026) went 1-for-3 at the plate with one RBI, while Darren Klein (2027) picked up a double in the game and a walk. On the mound, Klein tossed six innings on the mound with two strikeouts, one walk, one earned run and four hits allowed. Nolan Lebert (2026; Olivet Nazarene) closed the game out, tossing one inning with one strikeout and one hit allowed.

No. 21 Lane Tech defeated Von Steuben by the score of 2-0. Conor Sullivan (2026) went a perfect 3-for-3 in the game with a double and one run scored, while Jacob DeVinney (2026; Saint Mary's - Minnesota) went 1-for-1 with two RBI (team high). On the mound, Jake Saltarelli (2027) earned the start, going three innings, striking out four, allowing one walk, no runs and one hit. Cruz Warren (2027) earned the win in relief, striking out seven, walking one, allowing no runs and no hits.

No. 23 Oak Park-River Forest defeated Lyons by the score of 5-3. Robert Kolovitz (2027) led the Huskies' offense going 2-for-3 with a home run, double, three RBI and one walk. Zach Goldberg (2026) went 1-for-2 with one RBI and one run scored, while Johnny Nelson (2026; Wright State) and Ian Moore (2028) each added a hit and one run scored. On the mound, Owyn Edwards (2026; Kenyon College) tossed three innings in relief with three strikeouts, one walk, no earned runs and one hit allowed.

Glenbrook North defeated No. 25 Loyola Academy by the score of 15-0 in four innings, scoring 12 runs in the first inning. Dylan Hirsch (2026) went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a double, four RBI, three runs scored and a walk. Nehemiah Torres (2026) added two hits, three RBI and one run scored, Jake Semmelhack (2026) went 3-for-4 in the game with a double, one RBI and one run scored, and Harper Williams (2026) added two hits, one RBI and one run scored. On the mound, Dean Miller (2026) tossed a complete game (4 IP) with four strikeouts, one walk, no earned runs and one hit.

Marmion defeated Wheaton Academy 13-10. Three players drove in two RBIs for the Cadets. Charlie Zebig (2026; Augustana Commit) had two doubles including a two-run double, Matthew Tulley with a sacrifice fly and the game-winning RBI groundout, and Jack Dooley (2027) with an RBI single and RBI groundout. Benjamin Piekarz picked the the win and relief by delivering three innings and two strikeouts. Alec Gilsinn (2027) notched the save by pitching the final frame and striking out two of the four batters he faced.

East Peoria took down Limestone 6-1. The Raiders were led by Ryan Duncheon Jr. (2026; Illinois State), who got it done on the mound and at the plate. On the mound he went 6.1 innings, allowing just two hits and one run, while striking out 10. Duncheon also went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, driving in two. Jackson Ahrens (2026; Kirkwood CC), Breyon Maroney (2026) and Jordan Marsh (2026) all collected two hits. Ben Subbert (2026) looked good in relief for the Rockets going three strong innings, allowing no runs on three hits, while striking out four.

Morton defeated Canton 8-1. The Potters offense was led by Cam Crawford (2026; Jefferson JC Commit) and Hudson Lovell (2027). Crawford went 2-for-4 with a double, single, two runs, and two RBIs. Lovell went 2-for-3 with a triple, single, stolen base, a run, and two RBIs. Bek Powers (2026) went 2-for-4 with a double, single, two stolen bases, two runs, and an RBI. Collin Burns (2026; McHenry County JC Commit) drove in an RBI while pitching five stellar innings and recording six punchouts.

Washington took down Metamora 6-4. The Panthers offense was led by Jack Moehile, who knocked in three RBIs including the go-ahead two-run single in the sixth inning. Anson Zaiser (2026; Spoon River JC Commit) went 2-for-4 with two singles and an RBI. Jackson Vanderheydt (2027) knocked in an RBI single. Camden Vescogni (2027) put up an RBI double along with a walk and a run. Isaac Perez (2026) pitched six strong innings and struck out four batters, which earned him the win. Jackson Vanderheydt stepped on the mound for the save opportunity and he struck out three of the four batters he faced.

Dunlap won against Pekin 5-3. Truman Tyra (2026) led the Eagles offense by going 2-for-3 with a stolen base, single, and the RBI double that proved to be the game winner. Ryder Rennette (2028) went 2-for-3 with two singles, a walk, two stolen bases, and an RBI. Pierce Placher (2027) went 1-for-2 with a single, two walks, two runs, and an RBI. Carter Lippens (2027) and Landon Gray (2026; Luther Commit) each struck out five batters in their outings. Lippens went four innings and got the win while Gray threw three shutout innings and got the nine-out save.

Glenbard South held on to defeat West Chicago 2-1. Nate Melon (2028) got the start on the bump for the Raiders and went the distance. Over seven innings, Melon allowed seven hits and one run, while striking out five. Melon also added a double at the plate. Tim Ewald (2026; 1-for-2, R, 2 BB) also contributed at the plate. For the Wildcats, Kaedin Zentner (2027) went six innings, allowing one hit, two runs, and seven walks, while striking out seven.

Plainfield North defeated Plainfield South 10-3. Colin Ogden (2027) got the start and the victory on the mound going four innings, allowing three hits, two runs, one earned, and striking out six. Ogden also collected two hits at the plate, including a double and a run scored. Danny Smith (2026) looked sharp in relief going three innings, allowing four hits and one run, while striking out four. Evan Monaco (2028) led the offense going 3-for-4 with three RBI, a walk, and a run scored. Luke Dumser (2028) and Connor Vlcek (2027) each collected two hits for Plainfield South.

Quincy had a come-from-behind victory to beat Rock Island 7-6. The Blue Devils started out in front by four runs with RBIs coming from Mason Dent's (2026) single and Cameron Lawson's (2026; John Wood CC Commit) sacrifice fly, and Trace Routh scoring on a passed ball. In the sixth inning, Drake Gibson (2026) hit the game-tying RBI double while Mason Ritter hit the game-winning RBI double. Gibson also struck out seven batters in his 4.2-inning outing.

Austin Hackworth went 2-for-5 with two singles, two runs, and an RBI. Other offensive contributors include Andrew Bucci (2026) (RBI single), Brayden Lewis (2026) (RBI double), and Cade Kreczmer (2027), who each knocked in an RBI. Harrison Kramer (2027) got the win by throwing 5.2 innings and striking out five batters. Tanner Walton (2027) finished up the remaining 1.1 inning without allowing a hit and run and got the save.

Plainfield East defeated Oswego East 10-9 on a walk off single by Jeremy Stokes (2026). Stokes finished the day going 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and a run scored. Connor Lamb (2026) collected two hits, and Kyle Ward (2027) drove in three runs on one hit to power the offense. For the Wolves, Devin Wheaton (2026) was 3-for-4 with four RBI, a walk, and a run scored.
