Comprehensive Coverage of the 2026 Maryland High School Baseball Season
Throughout the 2026 Maryland high school baseball season, Prep Baseball MD and its dedicated staff will provide extensive coverage of all aspects of the sport across the state. Our coverage will feature Daily Roundup, a daily scoreboard, live scouting at high school games, a maintained Heat Sheet, and ongoing tracking of standout player performances.
Each week, our scouting staff will analyze box scores, consult with high school coaches, college recruiters, and professional scouts to select the Player and Pitcher of the Week. The recipients of these awards will be announced every Tuesday throughout the spring season. Each player submitted and considered for the Player of the Week Award will be recognized in the weekly Diamond Notes release. This list of players will allow fans, coaches, and scouts a place each week to follow some of the best performances weekly in Maryland.
To be considered, please look out for our weekly nomination form on Twitter/X and Instagram, where you can nominate the top performances of the week. Those nominations will also select our weekly Player of the Week Award. To be considered, you must fill out the form accurately and follow the directions.

- Threw the first perfect game of the 2026 season with a five-inning CG against McDonogh.

- Maryland Player of the Week recipient.
- Committed to Alabama.
Tristan Merritt, RHP, Parkside, 2026
- Made two appearances; started vs Easton and in relief at Southern.

- Frostburg State recruit
Ty Schauppner, RHP, Broadneck HS, 2027
- Made two appearances on the week against Annapolis and Glen Burnie.

- Key contributor to Broadneck's strong start to the season.
Carter Shanks, RHP, Liberty, 2026
- Big-time performance against county rival Westminster to kick off the year.

- La Salle University commit.
Parker Box, RHP, South River HS, 2026
- Collected a big upset on the mound against top-ten ranked Chesapeake-AA.
- Final Line: 5 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 6 K
- Still uncommitted, righty sitting mid-80s up to 84.
Ethan Poore, RHP, North Caroline, 2026
- Threw a complete game in the Bayside's first upset of the year vs Bennett.
- Final Line: 7 IP (CG), 6 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 7 K
John Burke, LHP, Eleanor Roosevelt HS, 2027
- Two complete-game performances vs Wise and Bowie.
- Pitching Line: 12 IP (2 CG), 3 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 25 K
- Powered Eleanor Roosevelt to their first win vs Bowie since 2023.
Peyton Wholey, RHP, Mount St. Joseph, 2026
- Thrown into the starting rotation after an injury and shined vs John Carroll.

- Committed to Anne Arundel CC.
James Reinhardt, RHP, St. James School, 2028
- Strong appearance to start the year vs Potomac School (VA).

OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCES
Jake Lindsey, INF, Calvert Hall College, 2027
- Batted .600 over three games for #1 Calvert Hall in their series vs Loyola Blakefield.
- On the Week: 6-10 (.600), HR, 2B, 7 RBI, 4 R
- Hits 3rd in the lineup for the number one team in the state. Still uncommitted.
Liam Buck, C, Allegany HS, 2028
- Two really impressive games on the offensive circuit in a 2-0 week.
- On the Week: 6-7 (.857), HR, 6 RBI, 4 R
- One of the top catchers across the 2028 class. Name to watch in the WestMac.
Bryce Crandell, SS, Southern-AA, 2028
- Went 7-for-11 over four games in a 2-2 week with a big win over South River.
- On the Week: 7-11 (.636), 2 3B, 2 2B, 6 RBI, 7 R
- 3-for-4 performance in front of our staff against ranked Parkside.
Cooper DeWaal, SS, Oakdale, 2028
- Collected a pair of homers in a 3-0 week against two Top-25 ranked teams.
- On the Week: 7-12 (.583), 2 HR, 2B, 4 RBI, 4 R, 3 SB in the leadoff spot
- The top public school player in the 2028 class, now up to 3 homers on the year.
Collin Reis, INF, River Hill HS, 2028
- Played three games on the week which included a 2-2 performance vs Glenelg.
- On the Week: 7-10 (.700), 7 1B, 4 RBI, 5 R
- One of the most underrated two-ways in Howard County.
Ethan Pletter, SS, Walter Johnson, 2026
- The hero of last year's state title game is off to a hot start this season.
- On The Week: 8-10 (.800), HR, 2 2B, 7 RBI, 9 R (grand slam)
- Headed to Vanderbilt in the fall for academics.
- Exploded on offense in a week against 3 ranked opponents.
- On the Week: 7-11 (.636), HR, 3 2B, 6 RBI, 6 R
- One of the top uncommitted players in the senior class.
John Delaney, SS, Mountain Ridge, 2027
- The Delaware commit continues his scorching start to the season.

- A high-impact bat within the WestMac conference out in Frostburg, MD.
Malcolm Blaqman, SS, Southern MD Christian, 2027
- The Rutgers commit impressed at the dish on Friday against St. Mary's.

- Hit a home run batting from the left side as a natural R/R.
Cole Bratburd, C, North Hagerstown, 2026
- Standout performance in front of our staff in a ranked game vs Smithsburg.

- Committed to Bethany.
Jaidon Maxwell, 1B, Linganore, 2027
- May have the most power upside in the state as an XBH machine.

- Two-homer game in a big matchup against Brunswick.

- One of the top uncommitted outfielders in the junior class.
