Everything high school baseball related will be on the GHSA tab on our website. It can be found HERE. This will include the Power 25, Classification Rankings, weekly scout blogs and more.

Today, we are going to introduce a new piece of content called the “Daily Round Up”. Here we will take a look at the games our scouts went to from the previous day and highlight key moments, standout players and our takeaways from the game.

Dunwoody @ Woodward Academy

Score: Woodward win, 14-0

Standouts:

Carson Ray, SS, 2026, Woodward Academy

Chance Dixon, 2B, 2026, Woodward Academy

Aidan Beall, RHP, 2026, Woodward Academy

Myles Tate, 1B/3B, 2028, Woodward Academy

Graham Reker, C, 2028, Woodward Academy

Spencer Norman, OF, 2028, Woodward Academy

Key Moments: The War Eagles jumped out to an early lead in the 1st and didn’t look back from there as Elijah Lyles came through with an RBI single. As Woodward led 2-0 after the 1st. The Woodward offense simply exploded in the 2nd as they put up 8 more runs. The key moneys consisted of a; Spencer Norman 2B, Chance Dixon RBI 1B, Carson Ray RBI 1B, and a Graham Reker RBI 1B, as it was 10-0 after two-innings. Myles Tate sent a massive 2-run HR over the LF wall in the 3rd to tack on 2 more runs to make it 12-0. Spencer Norman added a 2-run HR in the 4th as well making it 14-0 as that was the final over 4 ½ innings in the run-rule win.

Avery’s Takeaway: I have been able to see Woodward twice now as they have impressed with a pair of wins in both looks. The depth of the lineup really stands out with talented upperclassmen by way of Chance Dixon, Carson Ray, Elijah Lyles, Rolan Potts, and Khalon Davis along with a trio of sophomores including Myles Tate, Spencer Norman, and Graham Reker. Aidan Beall showed well as he tossed a quality game on the mound. If the pieces can come together behind Beall and Potts this is certainly a team that can make a run backed by confidence in the lineup on any given night. Dunwoody has dropped both games I have watched but the talent on this roster is clear to see, as they will look to continue to fight for a region title and so forth.

Campbell @ McEachern

Score: Campbell win, 7-3

Standouts:

Tyler Ferguson, OF, 2026, Campbell

Cameron Denis, OF, 2027, Campbell

Henry Zaring, OF, 2027, Campbell

Noah Turner, SS, 2028, Campbell

Key Moments: A four-hit 2nd inning for McEachern would give them the early lead thanks to RBI from both Ezra Gandy and Makai Johnson. Campbell would get the runs right back in the next inning as they led off with 3 straight hits including a 2-RBI 1B from Cameron Denis before adding to more in the inning for what would be the go-ahead runs. Spartans completely stole the momentum in the 5th after a bang-bang play at first extended the inning, extra-base hits from Noah Turner and Tyler Feguson would score 3 and put the game fully out of reach.

Ian’s Takeaway: This was a massive win for the Spartans playoff chances as they will be in multiple must-win series over the next few weeks. The top of the lineup with Tyler Ferguson, Cooper Watkins, Cameron Denis put constant pressure on the Indians throughout the night as they combined for 5 hits and 3 RBI. Bottom of the lineup was no slouch either as 6 through 9 in the order all added base hits including RBI knocks from Noah Turner and Henry Zaring. Mental mistakes were non-existent and kept the pressure throughout. McEachern still controls their own destiny in the region despite the loss as they remain #1 with two more important region series left that will be sandwiched around some tough non-region matchups including Carrollton and nationally-ranked Stony Brook (NY).

Mt. Paran @ King’s Ridge

Score: 7-5, King’s Ridge wins
Standouts:
Taylor Markakis, OF, 2027, King’s Ridge

Marcus Ward, OF, 2026, King’s Ridge

Andrew Akopov, OF, 2028, Mt. Paran

Jackson Gore, C/3B, 2027, Mt. Paran

Key Moments:
The King’s Ridge offense was in control early and senior pitcher Spencer Wood had the Mt. Paran offense at bay for most of the game. The Eagles did scratch across one run in the first on a Jackson Gore single. From there King’s Ridge answered with barrels by Brayden Mentzer and Marcus Ward. They opened up things a bit in the 4th with a leadoff single by Luke Wein, another barrel by Marcus Ward then a bunt by Hudson Phillips. Mt. Paran would end up sparking a rally with a leadoff single by Brody Conner followed by Rhett Bonner and RJ Westbrook doing the same. Andrew Akopov capped off the big inning with a rocket to the wall. They would end up making it a 1 run game, but King’s Ridge answered right back with back to back doubles by Taylor Markakis and Chip Glogorski. Markakis would end up closing it out on the mound for the 7-5 region win.

Huddy’s Takeaway’s:
King’s Ridge was one of the last teams I needed to see in the private classification. After seeing all the contenders it looks like they have the most depth and experience in the class. They have guys that have been 3 and 4 year starters that know what it takes to make a deep run. The line up is as complete as they come from 1-9 with power at the top in Ward, Glogorski and Markakis. If they can keep everyone healthy they will surely be in the mix come end of May. Mt. Paran is going to be in the mix for the next few years with a chance to contend this year as well. Having Evan Litschke leading the rotation they will have a chance to beat anyone in game 1. Their line up is fairly young, but all are experienced enough and talented enough to figure it out come playoff time.
