CHSAA Power 25 Update: Week 3
March 24, 2026
Colorado Power 25
The Prep Baseball Colorado staff is looking forward to diligently scouting players and teams throughout this spring, and will continue to work hard to bring the state top notch coverage on the baseball diamond. Colorado is flourishing with high-end baseball talent at the moment and is starting to gather more and more national recognition as well. We hope to continue all momentum in the state while making an impact on the players and teams within.
Throughout the 2026 season, our staff will be publishing scout notes/video, and additional in-season content along the way, like Power 25 updates, Player of the Week awards, 'Daily Roundups', and weekly top performers included inside Diamond Notes.

TOP 25 (WEEK 3):
FEATURED PROGRAMS:
REGIS JESUIT: The Raiders are off and running, and they’re making a loud statement early this spring. A perfect 3-0 start includes wins over northern Colorado's Fossil Ridge and Fort Collins, capped by a 16-run explosion against a ranked Mullen squad. This is a group that looks the part too, arguably the most physical and athletic roster in the state, featuring five future Division I players already signed and ready to go. And the talent doesn’t stop there. Regis Jesuit is loaded with high-end uncommitted prospects and former Future Gamers, giving this roster both present firepower and serious depth. On the mound, they’ve been just as dominant with back-to-back shutouts and a staggering 37 runs scored through three games by the offense paint the picture of a team firing on all cylinders. Now, the Raiders take their momentum to the national stage, heading to the National High School Invitational to face off against some of the top programs in the country.
ERIE: At a perfect 7-0, the Erie Tigers are quickly becoming impossible to ignore. Powered by electric right-hander Maddox Burnett, who’s been lighting up the radar gun around the mid-90s, and a wave of emerging impact bats, Erie has done nothing but impress to open the 2026 season. Their résumé already features wins over Brighton, Loveland, and Douglas County, and they recently backed that up with a dominant 4-0 sweep on an out-of-state trip, representing the Rocky Mountains in a big way. Offensively, Burnett, Dageenakis, Coslett, and Heil are all off to scorching starts, each hitting north of .410, giving the Tigers a dangerous, balanced attack that could fuel a deep 5A playoff run. With a schedule that still includes key matchups against Broomfield, Mead, Holy Family, Legacy, and Chaparral, Erie looks poised to keep climbing the rankings and prove this fast start is just the beginning.
EATON: The Prep Baseball scouting staff was on hand for 3A Eaton’s top-ranked matchup against the reigning 4A state champion Golden Demons, and the game lived up to the billing. Arizona State commit Gunnar Garrison got the ball for the Reds and was dominant early, running his fastball up to an impressive 96 mph while tossing four no-hit innings to start (5 IP, 11 K, 1 ER overall). However, the Reds had to battle in this one, as Golden rallied for five runs in the sixth inning to take the lead. Eaton responded with impressive resilience at the plate, answering with three runs in the bottom half, while Jackson DeNooy closed things out with a clean seventh inning on the mound (also hit a home run in earlier in the game). The Reds feature a firepowered offense that should keep them among the top contenders in 3A, while Garrison will be one of the toughest arms to beat in the state at any level. With depth, toughness, and a winning culture, don’t be surprised if Eaton finds itself right back in the 3A state championship mix in 2026.
