The Top 5

There were several upsets in Week 5, so there's been a shake up in the Top-5 of our Power 25 Rankings, but the #1 team remains the same. Barbe checks in at the top spot again this week after going 3-0 last week. The Bucs beat Carencro twice and New Iberia to open up District 3-5A play.

Brother Martin moves up three spots after going 3-0 last week to move their overall record to 19-2. The Crusaders swept Holy Cross and defeated Warren Easton by scoring a total of 37 runs and only allowing 2 last week.

Catholic BR dropped their first two games of the year last week and now sit at 17-2 overall. Senior Harrison Kidder had a massive week at the plate for the Bears hitting .769 with 2 home runs and 5 runs batted in.

Benton improved their overall record to 15-2-2 ater winning all three of their games last week. Junior Hayden Millen went 5-for-10 (.500) with 3 runs batted in, 3 runs scored, and stole 5 bases.

Jesuit moves up as well after going 4-0 last week to improve their overall record to 16-3. The Blue Jays scored a total of 42 runs and allowed only 1 last week in their four games.

Risers

+ Archbishop Rummel rockets up our Power 25 Rankings this week all the way to #7 after a dominant Week 5. The Raiders swept John Curtis Christian to open up the week and finished up with an 11-3 win over St. Augustine. Junior Owen Nugent was the hero in their win last Tuesday against the Patriots, as he tossed 8 shutout innings and also hit a walk-off single.

+ Dutchtown also had a big Week 5 with three wins over three quality opponents. The Griffins beat Zachary last Tuesday before a two-game sweep of district-foe Prairieville.

+ Lutcher has won their last eight straight to improve their season record to 14-4 and now sit at #24 in our Power 25 Rankings. The Bulldogs beat Central Lafourche, St. James, and West Feliciana last week and they have a big matchup this coming week against #12 ranked Vandebilt Catholic.
