The Colorado high school baseball season kicks off on March 5th, opening day for regular season action under CHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2026 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down through the official Prep Baseball Colorado Preseason Power 25 Rankings.
Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

2026 SEASON OUTLOOK:
Golden enters the 2026 season with a potent mix of experience and youth, returning the core of last year’s 4A state championship squad. The lineup promises to swing the bat with authority while pairing that firepower with steady, reliable defense. Speed will be a weapon on the basepaths, keeping opponents on their toes. Notably, four sophomores and one freshman saw action in last year’s title game, giving the team valuable postseason experience despite their youth. While the program graduated two of its top arms, Golden’s depth on the mound remains strong, with returning pitchers ready to step up. Over the past five years, the program has been a model of consistency, posting a 107-28 non-league record and dominating league play at 48-3, making Golden a team poised to compete at the highest level in 4A once again.
