NOTABLE RECAPS FROM FRIDAY
Hurricane (6) vs. Crimson Cliffs (7)
The Crimson Cliffs Mustangs outlasted the Hurricane Tigers in a tense 7–6 extra-inning thriller, finally ending the marathon in the ninth frame. Hurricane showcased a high-octane small-ball approach, led by Gianni Giammalva, who walked three times and terrorized the basepaths with three stolen bases, and Joey Monte, who racked up three hits including a pair of doubles. However, the Mustangs found their answers in the clutch; Cutter Christensen and Jack Boyer each delivered two-RBI performances to keep Crimson Cliffs within striking distance. The game was ultimately decided by the lights-out relief work of Ricardo Navarro, who stepped onto the mound and tossed 2.2 innings of no-hit baseball. Despite some late-inning traffic via the walk, Navarro fanned five Tigers to keep them off the board and secure the gritty Region 9 victory.

Cedar Valley (7) vs. #20 Bingham (6)
The Cedar Valley Aviators took advantage of a late-game surge to ground the Bingham Miners in a 10–6 victory. While the Miners showcased their power early with home runs from Cain Stoker and Noah DeVroom, the Aviators proved more efficient with their scoring opportunities, racking up five extra-base hits. Landon Johnson was the centerpiece of the Cedar Valley attack, finishing with four RBIs highlighted by a towering home run and a double. Bingham’s Noah DeVroom turned in a strong dual-threat performance, fanning seven batters over four innings of work, but a rough sixth inning for the Miners' bullpen allowed the Aviators to pull away. Dredyn Mortensen earned the win in relief, navigating the final two frames to secure the gritty non-region win for Cedar Valley.

#18 Bear River (2) vs. #24 Mountain Crest (3)
The Mountain Crest Mustangs relied on the ultimate "bend-but-don't-break" performance from Sam Rowser to edge out the Bear River Bears in a 3–2 defensive thriller. Despite being out-hit 9 to 4, Rowser turned in a rare complete game without recording a single strikeout, trusting his error-free defense to navigate the Bears' constant traffic on the basepaths. The Mustangs’ offense was the definition of efficiency, led by Mason Smith, who reached base three times and scored twice, and Ethan Nielsen, who notched two hits. Ethan Higgs did everything he could to keep Bear River in the hunt, delivering a two-RBI triple and a dominant start on the mound where he fanned 10 batters over nearly six innings. However, the Bears were unable to capitalize on multi-hit efforts from Chipper Hawes and Dallin Bevan, as Rowser’s steady command allowed the Mustangs to escape jam after jam and secure the gritty home win.

Westlake (3) vs. #9 Riverton (4)
The Riverton Silverwolves clawed their way to a narrow 4–3 victory over the Westlake Thunder, relying on a balanced offensive attack and lockdown relief pitching to secure the home win. While Westlake manufactured runs through situational hitting and a triple from Tyson Lafferty, they were haunted by four defensive errors that allowed Riverton to stay aggressive on the basepaths. Brayden Gillespie was the catalyst for the Silverwolves, turning in a 3-for-4 afternoon that included a crucial RBI double. On the mound, Easton Barlow was a workhorse for Westlake, pitching 6.2 innings without issuing a single walk, but he was outmatched by the Riverton bullpen. After Mason Glauser provided five solid innings, Shayden Christensen entered the game and completely silenced the Thunder, striking out three over two scoreless frames to protect the lead and earn the win.

#10 Olympus (4) vs. Bountiful (2)
The Olympus Titans packed their extra-base power for the road trip, using a barrage of doubles and a dominant relief effort to secure a 4–2 victory over the Bountiful Redhawks. The Titans’ offense was headlined by Thomas Olson, who went 3-for-4 with two two-baggers, while Wyatt Gasik provided the definitive blow with a two-RBI double. On the mound, Nate Jones gritted through five innings to earn the win, but the story of the late frames was Carter Lacsamana. Entering a high-pressure environment, Lacsamana was nearly perfect, fanning three over two hitless innings to silence the Redhawks' dugout and lock down the Region 5 win. Bountiful remained competitive behind a multi-hit day from Daxton Jenkins and steady table-setting by Kyson Burningham, but they struggled to find the big hit with runners in scoring position against the Titans' quality relief.
